There are many factors that leads to Nigeria going abroad to study.

1. If someone wants to do masters or PhD to boast his/her CV, he/shr will enroll to Havard or one prestigious universities abroad.

2. if the course one wishes to study is not available in any of our universities, he or she will seek for where to fulfill his/her dream.

3. if you are rich then you go abroad.

4. Foreign scholarship etcetera

My friend, you are talking as if our universities are empty. Far from it. However, the same Nigeria's universities have produced world achievers.

**** You see, urban poverty (just as seen in Kenya) is supposed to be the true definition of poverty according to western statistics.
Classifying Rural poverty in the African context is quite skewed because monetary evaluations do not just add up considering how rural africans live.

I as a person don't trust the westerners when it comes to something like this. I could remember how IMF persuaded us to borrow money from them after they predicted the heaven will fall if we don't but nothing happened.

I have not seen 86m people living in extreme poverty in all the places I have been to in Nigeria. It even contradict our unemployment stats.

When an illiterate is suffering he does not know it he believes he is better than somebody in america or europe that is the problem wait we nigerians. Some nigerians would be comparing themselves with sweden and america. When I was in the uk I met a nigerian lady which told me that nigeria has the best banks in the world and the best schools in the world. Two weeks later when this lady was about to be deported she jumped down from the second floor breaking her two legs because she wants to stay in britain. Illiterates most of the time do not know what they say

You guys also inherited colonial infrastructure, it has decayed, you're building from scratch & it's now 58 years later... u are faced with an unnecessary 2 decades-worth of backlog.

They are a lot more than 1 million. Lots of nigerians run away from zimbabwe zambia malawi and mozambique to south africa when these countries put a lot of austerity measures on nigerians. At one point there were 380000 nigerians zimbabwe and 220000 nigerians is zambia. There are more than 10 million nigerians in other african countries.

This - the Giant of Africa thing being a case in point. Do u think they believe their own lies (apart from this lady in the UK - otherwise she wouldn't have jumped if 9ja was the best thing since sliced bread)? The kaffirs built nothing. Nigeria had a Africa's first TV station as far back as 1958.It was 100% black owned. In its early days it promoted our culture and told our own stories.
