He showed you just Lagos city. Lagos city( not state) is the most expensive city in Nigeria, even more expensive than Abuja. Generally Nigeria is way cheaper than Kenya.

In Nairobi, other than the slums, the buildings are in pretty good conditions and the rent is monthly.
