How many bombs are we gonna drop on single targets? dropping a bomb to kill a guy on motorcycle seems like wasting tons of money.
But yea, good images there though.
Wish they can target these guys when they gather around, wipe them out en-mass, that would be great.

Also how do they know the guy is a terrorist and not a civilian at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Would have been established by the ISR platform about ongoing BHT activity under the trees before calling in air strikes. I don't think it would be a civilian approaching BHT members but sometimes these things happen.

Even the Americans have targeted civilians many times so I don't think the Nigerian military is above such mistakes. Stop guessing that there is a solid process of identifying suspects by the Nigerian military, the reality might leave you very disappointed. I have huge doubts given how the Nigerian military is often very trigger happy, just like that soldier who walked up to an unarmed shiit protester and shut him on the chest, or that other soldier who did some Kung Fu on the head of a protester who was already laying on the ground and trying to get up.

I don't doubt the curroption in the ecomog era. What you shouldn't doubt as well is the fact that the ecomog soldiers fought well and have a lot of battle experience which they could share with the new guys and their commanders. Also, they could help to cut the corruption since they know how it is done even better than the current doers.
What I was trying to say is ECOMOG was a pyrrhic victory.

I am not guessing. It is what ISR platforms are for. All you are shown are declassified clips, not the whole sequence of events. There are problems in the Nigerian military, but you seem to think it is all bad. Well it isn't and the NAF are not doing badly taking into account the lack of platforms in sufficient numbers. The current NAF inventory isn't even sufficient to prosecute the current campaign in the NE talk about every other hotspot.

It's not waste of money, that's the nature of the war(COIN) we are fighting. Moreover they are more than ten from the video I watched.

If it's an high value target you can drop a 500kg bomb on such target.

for every terrorist killed in an American drone strike, count at least 5 civilian casualties. I seriously doubt Nigerian airstrikes and "ISR" Can do any better. Between what things are for and how they are used, there might be a huge gap. You are indeed guessing. I really don't see what needs to be classified in the matter and I don't see the logics in alluding to the correctness of the shot falling into classified domain.

Come off it. What innocent civilians would be under the trees with BHT? I can equally say you are guessing because you obviously don't like the military. Where is your source about the American strike rate collateral damage you quoted? If you don't think there is anything to classify about ISR, then I really have nothing further to say.

There is nothing to classify. For your question, just type "drone strike civilian casualty statistics" on Google.

Yep! It does say a lot of it is unverified as locations of drone strikes are inaccessible to confirm, so a lot of guess work. Drone strikes targeting specific individuals are a bit different from targeting BHT, which in a lot of cases is after an attack by them.

an interesting article about nigeria tucano contract

https://thedefensepost.com/2018/11/29/nigeria-a-29-super-tucano-contract-sierra-nevada/amp/

So this one is new info fresh story we never posted before on this same thread? grin grin grin This thread posted and reposted a hundred times all those APKWS rockets/bombs for NAF tucano.

Search this thread and see how many times same photos are reposted by different people dozens of time and nobody questions it.

For those who said I told a lie CAS begged USA producer for mercy to deliver 2 of 12 tucano before 2020 because of the increased insurgent damages inflicted on army, they should open their blind eyes and see the same thing repeated by air force chief in your own news link here.

Its new info now that you posted it grin grin grin When Africans believe in dragging other Africans down, its the reason Africa never makes progress and war fills the whole continent.

If you did not see a news report before, whoever posted it is a liar ? grin grin. You now see same guy who called my post old info, now posting today a long load of old old old repeated tucano reports that have been repeated tired here.

Interestingly his own post after mine now contains what I said that CAS begged USA manufacturer to deliver 2 tucanos before 2020 due to damage army is facing from Boko Haram.

You have problem with truth being spoken abi? About 120 NA troops killed in 45 minutes, base weapons looted in Metele, very soon Baga base weapons looted again, and my saying it here is wrong, only me said it? It means I ridicule the army according to your own level of sense grin grin

People like you are reason Nigerian army is corrupt, insincere, disappointing mess today and Nigeria is upside down like semi-failed state with militants ravaging from our Delta up to Desert, killer herdsmen, armed robbers, cattle rustlers, ransom kidnappers, ritual killers, W. African ISIS everywhere messing up the nation with blood flowing like river Niger.

The result of a Nigeria nation full of incompetence, lies, deception, insincerity, where patriotic people are called bad names for speaking bitter truth.

Bro, use your head, why can't you post exactly what was said? Because nowhere in that link anything about begging for mercy was mentioned, nor did it mention anything regarding BH inflicting losses on the Nigerian military.
So why do you have to misinterprete what was said? That's the point of this, i don't even care if this was new or not, why the misleading interpretation.

"Nigeria’s Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, appealed directly to Taco Gilbert, the Senior Vice President of Sierra Nevada Corporation, while he was on a visit to Abuja."

Dictionary
appeal : make a serious or urgent request, typically to the public.

Now how is that begging for mercy? All you need to show is some decency and not act like a clown. I mean, you're supposed to be an adult, yea?
Have a good one.

1.He is not a Civillian.
2.NAF apart from ISR has other means to identify BH from Civillian.
3.NAF has refused to bomb certain targets draw your conclusions.

if they replicate such, BHT will release a doctored video through their agents showcasing the acclaimed extra judicial killings and u ill still see some psychophants who I'll allege that it's innocent civilians they have massacred.

But, I thought Egypt has the most sophisticated armoury in Africa. How come their base were attacked?

Excuse me for butting in. Better base defence set up will help if the defensive status is maintained. Well fortified and defended bases needed not barbed wire and rickety gates. Then a new COIN doctrine is needed based on lessons learnt.

The British and Americans could defend their bases because of how they were set up. Training is one element but if the troops feel exposed with inadequate defence set up and support, the training will be out the window.
That's what Training and Doctrine are.

If you don't have good training and an updated SOP, you cannot have a good base defence.

If you don't have good training, even if you have a good SOP for base defence, you still would not be able to implement them.

Training is everything, Nigerian troops have shown and proven to be poorly trained or they do not have the capacity to implement what they have been trained to do. This is what friendly troops continue to get overrun at almost every engagement with large groups of Boko-Haram, despite possession of superior firepower and equipment.

If you follow NAF ISR videos, you won't be saying this.

Besides, the Air Force doesn't just target randomly, ISR planes would have been in the air for hours before airstrikes are called in.

We are not far off saying similar things. A good base defence also involves fortified positions without rusty equipment that fail to fire or broken down. Look at American and British bases in Afghanistan. You will be hard pressed to breach it. Put American or British troops in those death trap bases with equipment NA have and I tell you they will be overrun.
