I am looking forward to ordering my first car from the us by next week but still indecisive on what car to go for. I'm a lover of fast performance cars so I narrowed my search to this two cars based on that. I havent had the opportunity to test drive them but they both have good reviews online. Which of this two cars will you suggest to a young man with some little change.

Things to consider are performance, reliability, cost of maintenance for the 2008 models of both vehicles.

Reliability: Not sure about the G37, but I know the G35 with the HR is ridiculously reliable. Will get you to 250k miles even with abuse. The J32/35 will get you to 200k miles at least, though. The Infiniti automatic transmission is a lot more reliable than the Honda one. Honda updated the tranny in 2007 but it's still not as good as the Infiniti 5-speed.

Maintenence: G37 brake rotors are known for warping. Also, the door window motors may go out like every 50k miles. G37 and TL are about par.

Driving: Lol, both cars no be mate. The G37 is pretty much a sports cars (shares everything with a 370z), while the Acura is a family car with a good engine. RWD vs FWD too. G37 by far.

Looks: G37, hands down. It's an unfair comparison, really. TL began in 2003, while G37 design began in 2007. Bring the 2009 TL and it's a more reasonable debate.

Interior: G37 has better technology. Fit and finish are about equal. The TL's ELS and the G37's Bose are great. The G37's instrument cluster is a lot more sophisticated, though.

BTW, the only G37 made in 2008 is the coupe. Sedan was 2009.

My choice is the winner in each category the TL is a t ush up honda accord which most people already know. Honda is up top in reliability than Nissan. Besides the J35 engine is reliable and more common than the VQ37, I don't expect a G37 to sport a VQ35

Engine reliability and parts availability is the only thing the TL may have better than the G37. Like I said, the TL auto tranny is iffy af. If OP was talking about a 2007/2008 G35 sedan, I'd say it'd be 100% more reliable than the TL.

Lol, when we're talking car years, we're talking about model years, not production dates, of course. That's the American standard (different in Europe, though).

MY2007 was the new generation, but production began in 2006.

Sedan was MY2007.
Coupe was MY2008 but with a VQ37. Like MY2007, MY2008 sedan was a VQ35, though.
Convertible was MY2009. MY2009 sedan was VQ37.

Lol, I know it's not your decision. I'm just trying to guide OP properly and point out that the two cars he's comparing really can't be compared.

I'm a fan of Acura's, tbh. Love the 2008+ MDX and the 2009+ TL.

The Infiniti G is still my favorite, though.

2. The 2007 G35 and 2009 sedan are the exact same design.
3. There are no major interior differences until 2009 (BT audio, new steering, I think)
4. All cars have about the same performance (2007 G35 sedan, 2008 G37 coupe, 2009 G37 sedan). Depending on the source, all three have 0-60 times between 5.2s to 5.5s. The 07 sedan (VQ35HR) even has more low-end torque according to most people. The G37 has more power at the top, though.
5. The 2007 sedan is the most reliable of all of them. It's the sweet spot. 306 HP. The 5-speed auto tranny is also more responsive than the 7-speed on the 09+ G37s. The 2007 engine is also cheaper than the G37's. 250k or so vs 400k+.

Reliable, fast, and good car. If you buy one in good condition, you wont regret it.

Would have preferred you get a 2013 though. Some of the issues in the earlier models like steering lock and gallery gasket were resolved in 2013.

If you decide to go ahead, ensure your windshield cowl is firm on the glass. Infiniti in their stupidity designed it to be taken off before you can remove the battery. Ensure you seal it properly everytime you remove it. Else, water ingress from there can damage your blower motor and BCM.
