To me 0ms is a marketing strategy... 10 ms is fast enough..

Asides being a marketing strategy. I was thinking that the output in line mode would be a stable 220V regardless of the input since it's uses double conversion to maintain 0ms transfer time (converts ac to DC and back to ac). And if that was the case it would eliminate need for stabilizer. Am I wrong?

I'm still wondering how transfer rate is 0ms undecided

This question is a random one..

First we need the Current, Voltage, to be transmitted and for what distances, between CC and batteries, Between CC and PV..

Current is the major factor anyways..

The current is as follows.
12v 24 amps.
24v. 50 amps.
48v. 60 amps.

Lenght of cable will be 20 yards

I don't know if theirs work as I envisioned.
Step 1 (AC to DC conversion): grid power (170v to 280v) is converted to DC and smoothen to approx. 48vDC to charge the battery. The load is powered though the battery.
Step 2 (DC to AC conversion): the battery power is converted back to AC to power connected equipments.

When the battery is fully charged, net current flow to battery is approx zero even though the load appears to be powered from it. Thus, when grid fails the load is simply still being powered by the battery. The battery and the inverter share same DC bus.

It does appear to me that that is the architecture they use in the zero transfer time inverter. Otherwise it would be near impossible to achieve zero transfer time.

The MK can be paralleled and has lower Voc capability but lower efficiency ( 90% in Inverter mode)

The GK has higher efficiency (93%) and can also work without battery but higher SOC and no paralleling possible

I'm settling for the MK. MPPSolar has confirmed by email that for online mode the output voltage is stable 220v - 240v but that for bypass mode the output follows the input.

If true, it means for input range of 110v-280v, one gets 220v eliminating the need for stabilizer.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by NiyiOmoIyunade(m): 8:31pm On Jan 02, 2019
For the bolded and based on your earlier comments, it appears to me that when the Grid is available the inverter will simply pass through the line voltage to the output e.g if PHCN line voltage is 180v then inverter output is also 180v, if PHCN cuts the power, the inverter sources power from batteries and output voltage goes back to 220v range.

This was my experience with the similar Zinox Axpert - line voltage from PHCN is not modulated but rather passed through straight to the inverter output.

Where did you plan to use a stabilizer? Was it between mains and inverter or between inverter and loads? I would still recommend a stabilizer or at least some voltage regulation between mains and inverter especially if your area is prone to line voltage fluctuations.

I like the features of the 3024GK it's just for home use so I don't need the line feature, I also already have a stabilizer between mains and inverter.
Where can one get this in Nigeria and price? and does anyone have usage experience of the 3024GK model?

If this is the case, my brother, in Nigeria with phcn, you MUST use a stab. Otherwise, garbage in, garbage out. Secondly, your inverter will not charge the batteries if mains is lower than~170v.

Please house I'm looking for a reliable Hybrid inverter 7.5kva 48v with at least 60amps Mppt.

The reason I'm going for hybrid is for ease of future expansion. I currently have a Victron Energy SCC 250/100 but just incase I need to do minimal expansion in future I may use the hybrid section of the inverter.

Someone suggested voltron brand 7.5kva, 48v with a 60a mppt charger but I just want to make sure it's a good brand.

Thank you. I saw it on Konga too. Not sure I need 100 amp. 32 amps would be more than enough our inverter will start and stop the gen. How long have you had it for? I appreciate you. Happy new year.

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by NiyiOmoIyunade(m): 8:54am On Jan 06, 2019
Oga Chris,

I am assuming you want to switch over between Mains and Gen? If your inverter can already start and stop the Gen then I believe a suitably rated 4 pole 2NO/2NC AC contactor should do - you should be able to implement this solution for under 10k especially if your house wiring is single phase or 'naija looped 3-phase'.

Simply decide which power source has priority and put the live and neutral of that power source on the [NO] common side of the AC contactor and put the live and neutral of the power source to be overriden on the [NC] common side - interlink/bond the load side (goes to the house DB) of the AC contactor live to live bonded and neutral to neutral bonded and you are good to go. Only one power source will be able to feed from Common to Load Side of the AC contactor. You can even implement a Generator off function with the disconnect.

Thank you. I saw it on Konga too. Not sure I need 100 amp. 32 amps would be more than enough our inverter will start and stop the gen. How long have you had it for? I appreciate you. Happy new year.

Please how does it handle situations of low voltage or high voltage from the grid? Any protections?

In my experience, if the switch is implemented with contactors, they do not like low voltage at all - anything below the minimum pickup voltage (~180v range), the coil pickup tends to chatter and the contactor coil is quickly destroyed.

Thinking back to what Oga Pranil once advised, perhaps one can mitigate this with an AC to DC converter using the DC signal to energise the coil instead. In my designs, I have been forced to dedicate a small stab or voltage protection device to the signal side of the coil where the end-user did not have a Stabilizer installed already.

@ house..what is your harvest like this period as a ratio of your total panels...on a sunny day in the eainy season..i easily fot 4x to 5x my total panel capacity and instantenous harvest gets as higg as 80 to 100%

Now even with washed panels i average only 3x to 3.5x harvest.
A 2kw serup giving me 6kwh and a 3kw setup giving me 10kwh daily.with instantenous in peak sunlight around noon being 1.1kw and 1.5kw respectively

I think it has more ro do with rhe angle of the shn in the sky+haziness..than actual dust on the panels.
Curious to know your figures..if it tallies with mine.

Harmattan effect is quite noticeable on my system. Average Peak power went from 1.5kw in July - Oct to 1kw in Nov and 0.8kw in dec. Poor visibility and dusty panel did it for me. Interestingly It has not really affected my overall yield. Longer days non cloudy days has compensated for the low peak power. so my daily yield is still between 4.5 - 5kwh which is more than enough for my needs. Relative colder night also means less energy is used for climate control so my overnight draw has dropped from 70ah to 80AH to about 50 - 40ah.

I have 63a, 100a and 250a with generator start
