do these people know that the devil himself believes Jesus is the son of GOD ......

and just so you know life in hell is also eternal just you living in it means eternal damnation ....

believing in Christ means you have eternal life but you still have to be careful as to where you spend your eternity , in hell or heaven

The verse is not talking about falling out if salvation. Or where is salvation written there?

It is simply telling us not to think we are perfect lest we fall into sin. Mocking rapists and thieves because you don't do such is very dangerous. You might end up falling by doing the same. Peter boasted never to deny Jesus. He fell by denying Jesus. Do you now understand?

how are you so sure it's talking of temptation and not salvation as it wasn't stated in the verse..... you're already adding to the scripture , twisting it to your taste and kinda giving people an excuse for sin

Yes, that's if you want God to keep spanking you for disobedience.

Hebrews 12:6-7
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Romans 6:1-7

1. What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

2. God forbid! How shall we, that r dead in sin, live any longer therein?

3. Don't u know that as we r baptized in Christ, we are also baptized into His death?

4. Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into His death: like as Christ was raised up from the death by the Glory of the Father, more so we should walk in the newness of life (life different from what we were used to).

5. For we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection (a new man free of sin).

6. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might b destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin (turn away from sin or saying no to sin).

7. For he that is dead is freed from sin. (We have the power to say NO to sin not continue in it)

Repent doesn't mean repent of your sins. Stop inserting sins wherever you see the word repent. Remember God also repented. Does that mean he sinned?

Exodus 32:14
And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

When Paul preached repentance to those pagans, he simply told them to repent from paganism and into the worship of the true God. He never spoke of sin.

is paganism not a sin?

if you're repenting from something then that thing is a sin , it's wrong that's why you want to repent

yes Paul meant repent from sin, from the ways of the world

Exactly.

You have everlasting life the moment you believe in Jesus. If you can lose that everlasting life, then it means it was never everlasting. That means you have called God a liar because you do not believe that the gift he gave is everlasting.

1 John 5:10-11
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Had this discussion with some folks over the holidays and my take on this is simple in the light of my desire to always explain things with practical analogy.

If Mr. James Audu begets a son John Audu, on what terms does Mr. John cease to become a son of Mr. James. Virtually none. You simply cannot undo it. You can disown, excommunicated or even deny inheritance but you cannot deny birth. The person remains your son till death or till the world ends

The question then each Christian should ask is not what his relationship is with God but where the relationship is with God. And I think this is the whole basis of Creation. Adam did not lose his physical life when God said he would die but what he lost was that relationship and all.the benefits accruable.

Then life becomes meaningless in the least and may become hellish in the other extreme. Many writers have attesed to this fact that the Heaven and Hell we often profess is nothing more than the permanent presence or absence of God in a set scenario.

Such that heaven will be a place or state where he will be permanently in charge so rwturning us to the defacto Garden of Eden with all its benefits of eternal life in health, peace, abundance and Holiness while hell is simply a place where Satan rules supreme with all his attributes in full flow without the air-conditioning of God's grace permanently. (One certainly does not want to be there).

So when you put the two together you may have to reconsider that the fact that you bear a Name born to King does not necessarily mean your experiences will be palatial or you may end up a Prince. You may still be left out of the will.

I will take the teaching of eternal salvation with all possible caution and work out my salvation as the scriptures say with FEAR AND TREMBLING. Seeking to ensure that the relationship is never taken for granted. That is the humility expected of a father/son or master/servant relationship. The humility a true believer should have.

He simply disobeyed.. Mark you Adam was created perfect by the same Word (Jesus) that came later as the Christ to carry out a total overhaul of man. So all men are either Adam the Creation/Redeemed or Adam the fallen. I don't think there is a third model of man.

We have to be very careful of this eternal salvation thing. The whole life of a Christian can be summarised as a RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. The quality of which will speak at the end.

I detect a desire to transfer total liability to God of our lives here on earth. This is mistaken. God is no longer in charge of the earth. Man had given the C of O away to Satan.

Why would the bible warn Christians not to fall back into sin if there's no tendency for them losing their salvation? If for any reason, verses like this refer to those who never believed, I think the bible would have been more specific.

2 Peter 2:20-22
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The above is another darling passage they love to quote. They forget that the passage only spoke of having the knowledge of Jesus Christ, not that they accepted him. This clearly speaks of atheist who know all about Jesus Christ but rejected him and went back to their unbelief like a dog who goes back to his vomit. Verse 22 days they are still dog and sow (female pig). They never changed even after the knowledge of God. They didn't put on the new man.

Hebrews 6:4-8
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

They clearly do not understand the passage above. The passage is not talking about those who have accepted Christ. It is talking about those who have tasted or are in the process of accepting Christ but rejected it.
If it was talking about those who have accepted Christ and went back as you are insinuating, then it even kicks against their belief. Do you believe one can return to God after losing his salvation? I believe you do. So, if you say the passage is about people losing their salvation, then how come it says it is impossible for such people to be renewed into Christ again? According to their usage of the passage, once you return to sin after accepting Jesus, then you can never be saved again.

Do you now see how they got the passage wrong?

Philippians 2:12-13
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

When you go to the gym, what do you say you are doing? You say you are working out your muscles. Working it out means you already have it but you just want it to be more pronounced so you work it out. God put muscles in you when he created you. But because you want to look like a body builder, you decided to work it out by hitting the gym.
Same thing with salvation. God has put salvation in you and wants you to make it pronounced by working it out i.e showing it off to the world. This will make others also get attracted to want to have a change of heart and follow God too, same way your friends will be motivated to hit the gym just to look awesome when they see your good looks.

Now go back and read the passage to see how it clearly fits my explanation.

Ephesians 2:9-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Let the scripture speak, not just using your own understanding to interpret it.. There are several passages which emphasis our call in righteousness and Holiness and whosoever continue in sin knew him not,
Salvation can be lost through
1.Renouncing christ.
2.Continous sin which corrupts the mind..

I don't know why people are even arguing about this doctrine with the OP. This race is an individual race, anyone can choose to interpret the scriptures as he or she likes. And besides this doctrine of once saved forever saved is not new, it's been even preached even before this century by the likes of William M Branham, Billy Grahams et al. OP just making it as if he just sat down to reason all these false interpretation of the scripture looks funny. He's only basing his argument on the books he actually read from these people and quoting them, I have friends like that that are under these false doctrines, but we always keep all these aside to prevent strife. Everyone is doing according to Revelation 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.... I wonder why God wants us holy, and righteous if it were not possible to live without sin.. In fact, I prefer to believe the fact that if I do in variance with the word of God I may lose my salvation after I'm born again and being sanctified than to assume that I can not lose it and living a free careless life as a Christian, rising and falling almost every time.. I have nothing to lose if God later says that my son Oluwadamilola, you shouldn't have denied urself of these worldly enjoyment because of fear of losing ur salvation while on earth.. And OP save us all this daddy GO, you ain't different from them because you read these ur supposed right doctrine from those supposed men of God. Many pastors are preaching it, most especially these new generation pastors who pushed by frustration of lack of gainful employment,.making the dead and agony of christ like a thing so cheap like anybody can go through.. Well, only those who thinks this race is about bread and butter will fall for this cheap doctrine..

This passage is not talking about those who are not Christians yet but about those who have been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift(salvation by grace through faith), and have partaken of the Holy Spirit. Am sure no sinner has ever partaken of the Holy Spirit. Yes indeed, salvation as we know it can be lost but it is not through our sins (1 John 9:7&9), it is when a spirit-filled and enlightened Christian so gives himself over to listening to the devil that eventually, he voluntarily rejects God consciously. This rarely happens since it only applies to matured Christians.

And what does it mean?
Demas Loved THIS world. This means he loved his life well enough to not want to leave THIS world yet.

That is quite different from Loving THE world. The Bible says he that loves THE world, the love of the father is not in him. God use to love THE world, but he doesn't anymore. That's why John 3:16 says For God so LOVED THE WORLD. So if any man loves THE world, he is not of the world.

He lost it by chosing death. His immortality wasn't a gift but how he was created and with a condition not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and of evil else he dies. He dies but his soul keeps on living. Same thing with us, we die but our soul keeps on living. Those who have the gift of eternal life live on forever in bliss while those who don't live on forever as eternally damned in hell. It is that hell fire Jesus came to save us from. After saving us, it is ridiculous to say we can lose that salvation when we are not the one who saved ourself.

Everyone is a singer as long as you are able n the flesh. This teaching is not saying you can continue in sin. If you do, God will continue spanking you till you finally get it. It is simply saying that your ability or inability not to sin is not what gets you saved but the work of Jesus Christ. You not sinning is just so you can show love to God and not bring shame to Christianity.

But believing that it is all about not sinning is the same as rejecting Jesus Christ. If you can make heaven by not sinning, then why did Christ die? You have made his death a waste by relying on your ability not to sin which will fail you. Look back and you will see that you have sinned this week already. Your righteousness is filthy rags before God. Is that what you want to present before God as your ticket into heaven or the blood of Jesus?.

You have heard the Good News that Christ wants to save you once and for all eternity, yet you rejected it and chose to save yourself by trying not to sin. You have rejected Christ's finished work on the cross and have opted to depend on yourself.

We are all sinners as long as we are in the flesh. But once you are born again, you get a new spirit. This means your soul is saved but your flesh remains the same. That flesh will keep making you fall to sin, but as long as your spirit is saved, nothing can ever make you miss heaven. Nothing can pluck you out of God's hand, not even you because God is stronger than you and all. That's why Jesus proudly said he cannot lose all that God has given him.

John 19:27-30
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know
them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.

i guess this is also a wrong teaching... how can u say one cant lose his salvation even after been saved. Thats totally wrong. when the bible says 'no one starts ploughing and looks back that fit for the kingdom of God'

I am for grace, but you guys fail to understand the word law. You all think it refers to the law of Moses alone.

The law means the knowledge of sin. Now that you have the knowledge of sin, if you believe you can make heaven by keeping such law, then you have no grace of Jesus. If you pass all but fail in one aspect i.e tell a lie, you will still get punished in the same manner as those who failed all. You will always fail becaySe you are not Jesus who passed all. But if you are counting on Jesus to save you from your sins because you know you can't pass all the law, then he will save you.

The law of Moses contains some pretty things that can't send you to hell if you disobey. So it's not the law we are talKing aBiut.

The verse doesn't say he starts ploughing. It says no one holds the plough and looks back. This is the same as hearing the word of God but rejecting it. He had the knowledge but rejected it. But the moment he starts to plough, it means he accepted it.

Luke 9:62
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
