There are ways to handle this tho.

Ask for the custom desk at the PO, every PO has one.

Ask them to recalculate the custom duties after showing them proof of how much the item cost.

If they tell you it can only be recalculated in Lagos, it's a lie.

Be very nice to them.

Your duties would be reduced to the actual price.

The importance of using a smartphone, is to be smart in all business dealings.......

A quick story, I was strolling through my twitter feeds, saw a retweet that caught my attention. This young lady makes and designs expensive looking slippers (reasonably priced)............


I reached out to her, requesting to see samples of styles and designs.....

The answer she gave me was completely shocking..........

In continuation, I requested to see some samples....... She tells me, all her samples are on her phone, I asked her if she was willing to send her phone to me, so I can select my choice? Or was she going to send the samples to me, like I was viewing selfies?

I told in 2019, it was so wrong to run such a concern like a puff puff business.........


I sent her a few catalogue generator apps she could easily use to list her samples properly, very clear pictures, sized and priced..... I told her the catalogue could then easily be viewed any where in the world and she can post download links or email out, and she never can tell where her next order would come from.........

In passing, I told her to send me the catalogue when she has finished............... Still waiting...........



NB: Morale of the story - : No point begging people to retweet your business, stating your next customer might be on their timeline........ If you are not marketing yourself and product appropriately............
