Nutshell44: In a nutshell , what are the procedures involved if I am to travel out as a student. Haven't written any scholarship but just curious. What will I get first? Things like that 1 Like |

Jackossky: First of all. Look for a school that matches your profile. That’s first things first |

Nutshell44: Don't get this part. On scholarship, would love MIT or schools in Asian countries but I was made to understand that there will be a language crisis or something like that So,how do I know If a school matches my profile? |

Jackossky: Asian countries? Bro this thread is strictly for USA students enquiries and information. So be sure what you want first |

Nutshell44: That was why I made use of the simple conjunction 'OR' So, what will you advise one from a middle income family, whom will like to study Economics abroad, has an A-level (If jupeb would count for such), what school would you see fit and lastly, how can he go about it? |

okoliifeanyi200: Normally,by professional ethics the VO shouldn't divulge the reason for denial. However, some nice VO go out of the way to reveal. Resumed on the 7th and interviewed on the 9th can be a red flag. However, you can get an extension letter from your school to present to the VO at his/her request but what I noticed in your transcript is confidence...I was in same shoes.. Probably,it is your first time. Your responses are not detailed. Why do you want to study liberal arts? This is a killer questions and you need to talk with conviction, confidence, concision and clarity... You need to say how you will be a journalist with a difference. Now,you can be a journalist in Nigeria and get all those skills you mention...but how will those skills stand you out in Nigeria if your got them in the US. The VO actually asked why Northeastern over university of Arkansas leaving out Ohio State University because those two school are ranked well...OSU is also ranked though! You need to work on presenting this with confidence and good points..You should know why you chose one over the other. But I understand your plight...you can re-fire! 3 Likes |

So during that time bishop was planning to get admission for me to start my masters in the seminary. That was the whole thing And this the way am to explain it to them just the truth Note during this period I called my superior in Nigeria to explain what happened to me for permission because of my office here. okoliifeanyi200:to start with, northeastern university is nowhere near being a better school than uni of arkansas, telling the v.o northeastern uni is more recognized than uni of arkansas means u do not even know about the school u chose and the schools u applied to. Think about this, why did she not ask u did u get an adm in ohio state uni.....she just asked uni of arkansas because she knew the school has great worth! And u didnt really impress in 'why this course' Try again....u are still young and make sure u still sit for ur JAMB. |

Are there any colleges or Universities in U.S.A specifically in North Carolina that doesn't require prospective international student to complete the "certificate of Finance" form as it looks like a prerequisite before form I-20 can be issued for certain schools? Student wants to study nursing. |

Flaame: Great insight! But you made a mistake. With all due respect to both schools, Northeastern is on a level higher than the University of Arkansas. In fact, Northeastern has one of the best co-op programs in the entire US. If not for the numerous elite schools in Massachusetts dwarfing its glory, Northeastern is miles better than the best schools in a lot of US states. Maybe you don't know much about the school. 5 Likes |

okoliifeanyi200: My Observation. 1. Your answer to "why Northeastern" is weak: Every US school has some form of experential programs (ever heard of capstone?) and internship opportunities. You should do more research and provide more unique reasons about Northeastern you cannot find elsewhere. Did you write your essays (aka SOP) yourself? These answers can be found there assuming you wrote a stellar essay. 2. Your answer to "Northeastern vs Arkansas" is weak: This question is very similar to "Why Northeastern?" In fact, the VO was trying to give you another chance to rescue yourself after the weak answer you gave previously. Mention unique qualities of the school eg their co-op, maybe an ongoing research or the opportunity to work with a superstar professor in your field. Search for those UNIQUE reasons. 3. Your answer to "Why Liberal Arts" was the final nail to the coffin: You're paying thousands of $$ to go and learn writing? Come on! It showed you didn't prepare much for the interview. Don't feel bad. Many people don't achieve success at one attempt. Your answers show you didn't prepare well for the interview. Now, you have to go back and prepare harder + do lots of mock interviews. 3 Likes |

Ubah1:happy weekend bruv. How are you doing. I asked a very popular VO on quora about that extension letter stuff and she said I should offer the letter "directly and courteously as quickly as possible". What do you think about her statement bro? Thanks |
