Buhari Trying to Illegally Remove CJN Earlier today, the Federal Government in a desperate bid to forestall democratic process on the countdown to Nigeria's Presidential elections, asked the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen to immediately resign as Head of Nigeria's judiciary over a very weak allegation of false asset declaration. To further display their desperate tactics, the FG is planning to arraign the CJN before Justice Danladi if the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja. Sources close to the CJN have revealed that the Chief Justice is unfazed by the theatrics of the Federal Government and will not resign, instead would rally the support of the body of benchers behind him and face the Federal Government which he is a part of, head on. The Federal Government, led by a machiavelian Cabal within the Presidency have already named Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as the CJN's possible replacement. A source has confirmed to reporters that the planned removal of the CJN is in line with the APC's long term plan to make all sensitive positions in Government especially the Judiciary Northern in order to control election tribunals which have become a ripple effect of elections in Nigeria. Now regarded as an affront on Nigeria's democracy and an act of desperation, the planned arraignment of the CJN by the FG is a last trick in the book as an imminent defeat looms in the February 16 Presidential polls where the President's ruling party is not campaigning. This tactic was once used to try and bully the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki over a period of 3 years where there were constant abuse on the institution of the National Assembly. While Nigeria awaits a turn of events on Monday following the trumped up allegations of the FG, it would be interesting to see how Nigerians would react to this recent attack on the Institution of the Judiciary which is the last hope of the common man. https://thepunditng.com/buhari-planning-to-remove-cjn-illegally/ 3 Likes 1 Share

That is close to 500 Million Naira, he refused to declare if you summed everything up...What other business is he doing aside being a civil servant? No wonder some criminals are now using the Supreme to Court boast, like Saraki etc, because they are sure of buying Judgements.... Corruption in Judiciary is the highest form of crime against humanity...Because a corrupt judge is a danger and a terrorist to the entire society.. This is a case I advise the FG to diligently prosecute to serve as a deterrent to other criminal justices littering our Judiciary... Kudos to Buhari for not toleranting crime (in order to appear good in some people's mind), no matter how highly placed the individual might be. #SayNoToCorruption. Oya, Wailers the floor is opened, come and Wail your eyes out. 71 Likes 12 Shares |

SalamRushdie: My dear, nigeria is a messed up country. That CJN is as dormant as my old Dog. He was sitting and moping like slowpoke wen buhari sent soldiers to kill people in Aba. As Educated as he claims, he proscribed IPOB terrorists and left Fulani Herdsmen. He was there when Osun Election was rigged black and white and the abuses that Fayose received during Ekiti Election. He was also there when bulhari sent soldiers to kill Nnamdi Kanu Who had a court case in the Federal High court Abuja. He never Cautioned bulhari over excessive use of power. I think whatever he is facing now, serves him right 38 Likes 5 Shares |

SalamRushdie:It's only when politics and elections are concerned that the stupidity and ethno-religious bigotry of Nigerians unveil itself. Did you read the part where the CJN Onnoghen didn't declare his assets until just two months after the sweep on the judiciary in October 2016? Even at that, Onnoghen only declared his Union Bank accounts and hid his Dollars, Euros, Pounds and Naira accounts with Standard Chartered Bank. He only funded those accounts through cash deposits running into thousands of hard currencies. The balances on those foreign accounts were $164,804.82, GBP108,352.2, EUROS 55,154.56 and N8,131,195.27 as at 14th November 2016. Now, for a right thinking and patriotic citizen, is this is not enough reason to prosecute him for corruption and possible enrichment through bribes that must have influenced judicial cases? 41 Likes 4 Shares |

We know how it will all end... They will threaten him and get him to reach a compromise of delivering electoral petition rulings in favour of their party in exchange for charges being dropped. 13 Likes 3 Shares |

This is the same man whose appointment as CJN took unnecessary time and had to be rallied by the public due to the bigoted leanings of the helmsman in Aso Rock. The flimsy attempt at allegations is all a ruse - we ain't fools (minus the zombies, that is). It is obviously targetted at the federal elections next month. Buhari and his cronies had better watch it and not allow their desperation destroy the hard-fought nascent democracy in the country. 20 Likes 1 Share |

A whole CJN now a culprit.. Lol One thing I know is that, the combination of the certificate of the vice president and the attestation of the president are not enough to match the qualification of the accused.. This is the drama that will expose it all... You must prove him guilty before he leaves.. Corruption is a menace and a killer but a foolish leader is worst of... I don talk my own 8 Likes 1 Share |

Watch the script. EFCC or DSS will soon invade his house. Humiliate him, put pressure on CCT to indict him then tell him to resign or place him on compulsory retirement. Let's not forget that it was Osibanjo that confirmed this man as CJN in Buharis absence. Buhari in clear eye won't have confirmed the present CJN. Chief justice position is the only puzzle lacking to keep Buhari in power. For Jonathan, it was INEC chairman Jega. Can you all remember that few days to 2015 election. GEJ attempted removing Jega. It's Buharis turn to attempt removing CJN. They will not succeed. Election is one month away. Buhari is not campaigning. By end of december 2014, Buhari had done 70% states visit. He is Relying on his military might and police with INEC to rig the election.. He should ask GEJ what happened. 9 Likes |

In my own understanding, he has been grossly compromised with money. He should taste from the cup he refused to take away from nigeria 11 Likes 2 Shares |
