This topic is the one that always makes me laugh each time I come here. The fact it reached to 3000+ comments is hilarious as Bleep. The shithole ranked as the the poverty capital of the world is still arguing with others about being better than them It couldn't get funnier even if they tried. Niggerians are hilarious and extremely schizophrenic I see |

rvp20183:Saving culture was always there in India, we are directing it for investments. rvp20183:Yes there is but non of initiatives is that efficient at the moment. India will have 95% literacy, 60% skilled labour, 50% urban population, upper middle income levels, 500 million middle class and a reasonable living standard by 2030. Many of strides in military and space technology would have been achieved and India would be third largest economy after China & the US. This demographic dividend will work only after that to efficiently multiply economy with innovation based Industrial growth. So, before the time comes, India needs plan better cities like west, make more & more airports and infrastructure to ensure that needs of people are fulfilled. If India wants to be developed, it will have grow 8-9% for 4-5 decades, if India wants to be as rich as west, it will need the magic number of 11% to achieve 70-80% of per capita income of Americans. And unlike 7.5% growth we got just from demographic dividend after opening economy, 11% won't come itself. We'll have to make efforts for this. Export based growth + consumption based growth and profit margin of exported stuff should also be high. Maximum of people should be educated & not just literate and Indians should have relatively better standards of living as well as skill. rvp20183:We have started to do already. We are heavily investing in nuclear & solar energy and to out all vehicles on electrical energy in few years. Rising demands may still force to use fossil fuels. But yes, the pollution which was done is done now. 1 Like |

Interesting. Did Modi succeed in trying to formalize the financial sector. I mean dissuade Indians from saving money under the mattresses. I have heard the attempt at de-nomization was failure and probably took 1-2% of the economic growth?I think the biggest threat to India becoming a developed nations is the informal india economy & society steeped in centuries of tradition including caste system - I mean for those savings to have impact on the economy - they've got be brought into the banking systems. The gov also need huge tax base - and it cannot tax a largely informal family/caste based economy. I notice gdp to tax is very low at 17%.That probably lower than most Africa countries....and therefore denies the India gov the arsenals to build roads, rails, power project and the likes like CHINA were able to do. The 7.5% therefore seem to be mostly private sector driven - with little public investment - gov will need to improve it tax to gdp to around 20% - that will unlock lots of money needed to build modern fast rails, underground commuter rails, huge hydro power stations and of course the expressways, the airports, the ports and the works. If India can compliment it's private investment with public investment - then 10% growth is possible. They just need to copy Chinese - and start building really modern infrastructure. Not old Railways - but rip it apart and build fast or standard gauge railways for example. Anyway looking at India - and Kenya - it appears we are just cusp of 2,000 per capita - and will certainly both achieve upper middle class by 2030 or early. The criteria is 4-12K per capita. Kenya biggest problem is that it's not industrializing. Our manufacturing that was as high as 17% of GDP, dropped to 10% & remained there for decades, but has now dropped to 8%. There is huge push to attempt Germany like vocational training and equip millions with vocational skills. That hopefully will see rise of cottage industries. Ethiopia our neighbour seem to be have done extremely well in China like slave-labour export driven manufacturing. We cannot replicate that here. Our labour cost are very high. Ethiopia can pay 25 dollars a month. Our electricity cost way too high. We cannot dole incentives to new manufacturers without hurting the existing ones. But we are doing extremely well in services & real estates. Financial sector is undergoing a revolution the world has not seen yet. Mobile money transactions are now about equal to GDP - i think this year it will probably exceed GDP. Mobile lending has already overtaken the traditional banking lending. So it appears like Telecommunication - many countries will leapfrog into world class financial services - without having to go through all the brick & mortar banking. Sadly our friend Nigeria - will miss this boat. Their Central Bank has prevented telcom companies from driving it - and given it to banks - who have no incentive to dismantle their brick -n -mortar. It like giving Mobile License to existing big Telcom company with copper wires everywhere. In terms of infrastructure - I think we are doing well to fill the deficit - but our roads sector is critical very bad (not by African standards) - I think we have like 15-20% of our roads paved. We need to move that 90% long term. We have mostly good murram roads but that is not good enough. Water supply also is not great..but it could be better - no reason why every household cannot have pipped water at their doorstep. Electricity is basically more or less sorted and we should be looking at universal electricity coverage soon.Hopefully after this mid term plan (focussing on housing, manufacturing, food security & universal health) - the next agenda will be to really re-focus on roads/rails/water/sewage - and really invest hugely. Nigeria Airforce versus Kenya Airforce. Poor Nigeria - where are you fighters Jets. No wonder you cannot beat Boko Haram. To beat insurgency force like Boko-haram you need airforce that can respond quickly. Not tanks Kenya Airforce will definitely eat Nigeria Airforce lunch - and that is why our campaign against Alshabaab has been largely successfully. In fact the only place Nigeria beat Kenya Airforce is on attack helicopters - I believe Kenya acquired some from China - and we are getting crop-dusters that can loaded with explosives from US - soon. Actually Kenya acquired Cobras (attack helicopter) from Jordan - Not sure the number - but maybe 25 of them. So Kenya Airforce beat Nigeria Airforce. https://thenewsrep.com/85522/kenyan-air-force-gets-second-hand-ah-1-cobra-attack-helicopters-jordan/

Kenya is the largest geothermal producer in Africa. Located within the Rift Valley, the geothermal resources have an estimated capacity of between 7,000 MW to 10,000 MW spread over 14 prospective sites. Currently, geothermal energy contributes 44.6 % to the energy mix. 1 Like

rvp20183:https://www.nation.co.ke/news/Kenya-buys-12-US-helicopters/1056-4789800-37bkiy/index.html The planes are part of the Sh25 billion arms deal that Nairobi signed with Washington and got the United States Congress approval in May last year. The Kenya Army said it plans to use the choppers against Somalia-based Al-Shabaab militants. Kenya is procuring the MD 530Fs to replace existing MD 500 platforms that are flown by the 50th Air Cavalry Battalion. 1 Like

https://thenewsrep.com/85522/kenyan-air-force-gets-second-hand-ah-1-cobra-attack-helicopters-jordan/ We got I think 25 Cobras from Jordan. We have long standing partnership with Jordan. Our Airforce officially beat your Airforce. As for the army & Navy - you have maybe twice the tanks - and hopefully they are still serviceable and are not minced meat. No wonder you cannot beat BOKO HARAM Ibrahimanis: |

I think the US deal are crop-dusters - that have been modified to be loaded with explosive instead of fertlizers and pesticides. But we also got Attack Helicopters from Jordan. I think we also had some attack helicopters from China. Here are our 2nd hand Attack Helicopters from Jordan. The Kenyan Air Force may have acquired four (or more) AS350 Ecureuil helicopters from UAE. Photos posted on Twitter shows four recently delivered AS350 Ecureuil (Fennec) helicopters. The AS350 Ecureuil (Fennec) helicopters have been partially disassembled indicating that they were delivered in a cargo plane(s). As at this moment, it is unclear where the helicopters will be based, either at the Nairobi International Airport or elsewhere. According to Margot Kiser, a journalist who first published the photographs, reported that eight former United Arab Emirates (UAE) Fennec helicopters have been purchased by Kenya for use in combat operations against the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab militant group. https://www.africanmilitaryblog.com/2018/09/kenyan-air-force-aqcuires-eight-as350-fennec-helicopters-from-uae https://twitter.com/kdfinfo/status/1040828158260457472?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1040828158260457472&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.africanmilitaryblog.com%2F2018%2F09%2Fkenyan-air-force-aqcuires-eight-as350-fennec-helicopters-from-uae

What more comparison - we were beating you except in attack helicopters. In 2017 we acquired the Cobras from Jordan and have acquired more including pending order for crop-dusters from US. It all comes down to budget & reputation. Your defence budget is i think about equal or less than Kenya. And of course partners - you have shitty Pakistani & Russia - we work with US, Isreal and UK - and their allies (mainly Jordan) - and maybe China. Whenever they want to retire some arsenals for new ones - they send it to us for cheap or free. That is playing SMART. Ibrahimanis: 1 Like |

Have your tried google first. Nigeria wanted to acquire Cobras that Isrealis were retiring and dumping. Obama vetoed it in 2014. Isreals then gave it to Jordan. Jordan has given it to kenya. The US cannot trust your indiscipline armed forces with COBRAS or their tools. You'll commit atrocities with them. https://thedefensepost.com/2019/01/03/nigeria-air-force-helicopter-crash-damasak-isis-claims-yobe-state-attacks/ Ibrahimanis: 1 Like |
