Onnoghen is the chairman of the NJC, who do you expect the man to try himself? The honorable thing Onnoghen should have done is to step side pending the duration of th case.

The Interpreation Act 2004 gives the president power to suspend indefinitely but not the power to remove without the 2/3 of National Assembly. That’s the loophole the FG is basing the whole thing on.

There can’t be a vacuum in government, the constitution 1999 section 241(B) gives the president power to appoint an acting CJN if the CJN is incapable of performing his duties.

The whole case will be won/loss on technicalities.

Odili had corrupted the judiciary through his wife Mary who is a Judge, and got favourable judgements for anything to do with Rivers State eg his perpetual injunction against EFCC, Amaechis 2007 win which was bought for $10m etc, and Wike as the biggest power player in both Odili and Amaechis Government is also very strong in buying over the judiciary.

I once met Wike in London in the 2000s when he was Obio-Akpor chairman. He came to meet my friend poopsie who is a Judge about a matter in court. I was quite disgusted that a Judge would be meeting with a party in a court case. That's why I just dey laugh at all these people shouting breach of Constitution. Those rules are made with the assumption that the Judiciary is impartial, yet the Judiciary is one of the most corrupt
professions in our country. Even during military regime, Judges were some of the richest men in Society as the Military relied on them for legitimacy and paid very well for it.

Sensible analysis

Buhari is just a slow person. In a presidential system of govt he should have addressed the CJN issue earlier. But Buhari because of his stupidityy is dealing with a Senate against him(even from same party) and a Judiciary against him.
