Bro which genres are those? Lol, when someone says " Nigerian" song we know exactly what the song's gonna sound like, ..a lot of screaming and autone and a similar beat for every artist, just admit my brother your music is not diverse same with your movies when the subject is not witchcraft or cheating then its not a Nigerian movie, lol. Look at SA, the most selling genres are actually, house, Gqom, gospel, hip hop , afro soul etc. But Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Soweto gospel choir went on to win us Grammy's and they do totally different genres. Do you have rock bands over there? Opera musicians? Techno DJ's ? Let's face it, you are not on our league

On which planet are you better than us in entertainment and sports for godsakes! Our TV dramas make a mockery of your film industry, our actors are better hence even the movie " Black Panther" took many of our actors directly from out TV shows to feature in that movie, even our rappers made the film's official soundtrack. Our movies are also better, filmed better, acted better, shot with better equipment, sound is better , I can go on and on..Is there a better packaged football league on the continent? Is there a rival for Supersport in sports broadcasting?

Don't get me started with sports, unless you think sports is football, even that we have closed the gap. SA partakes in sporting desciples you don't even know bro, Olympics come and go and the best performing countries are always Kenya and SA, same with the " All Africa games. You aren't a sporting nation you a soccer nation. Tell me again on which planet are you better than SA in sports?
guy
no 1 is that if you are a black South African. then you should keep your damn mouth quiet.
soccer.... Nigeria
basketball.... Nigeria
beach soccer..... Nigeria
boxing..... Nigeria
etc
the only sports SA does well in are those that are not practised in Nigeria.
and even internationally, Nigeria reps Africa well in the few sports that she engages in than South Africa.

Fuel is not cheap. Slightly cheaper now after VAT was added to Kenya. There is huge disparity in prices because there are no price controls.

What is cheap in Uganda is anything they grow or manufacture internally. Anything imported is more expensive than Kenya - because of the freight cost from Mombasa port.

Food, beer, education, manufactured goods (albeit of lower quality than Kenya) are way cheaper - esp with Kshs ever strengthening against UGX.

Labour is ridiculously cheaper - generally half the cost you'd incur in kenya.

tylann:

Cost of life in kenya is expensive
Fuel prices in Uganda are very low
Kenyans pay almost double what ugandans pay for fuel
Funny enough kenya has the highest number of motor vehicle owners in this region

I hope hii mwaka mungu anibariki pia nishike vitz
Kupanda matatu inachokesha walahi

Show us a country that has a better House music than Msanzi. You guys must learn to separate popularity from quality, those two things have nothing to do with each other.Lol stop using language as an excuse,Daddy Yankee's Despacito song (lyrics written in Spanish) was one of the biggest songs of 2018 even amongst non Spanish speaking people.Your afrobeat don't sell in SA,I frequent music stores (btw I'm not talking about some black market in some shady location) and I must tell you that music stores down here don't even have your CDs on the shelves cause no one buys it,so in what form does your music sell in SA?
forget the damn quality.
in most TV stations in South Africa, Nigerian songs rule the airwaves.

Nairobi-ans and Kenyans can learn some thing from this or at least Mike Sonko should come down to Lagos and learn how to generate revenue .

Nairobi county’s revenue collection has been declining drastically since Governor Mike Sonko took office in August 2017.

According to the county’s revenue collection performance for 2017-18, collection stands at Sh10.1 billion, a decrease compared to Sh11.3 billion for the 2016-17 financial yea cry cry cryr.

The report, currently with the assembly’s budget office, reveals that in 2017-18, the county’s five major internal revenue streams failed to meet their targets and have all decreased, compared to 2016-17.

In 2017-18, parking fees stood at Sh1.88 billion, followed by rates at Sh1.87 billion, single business permits (SBP) at Sh1.7 billion, billboards and adverts at Sh698.05 million, and building permits at Sh49 .41 million.

During Governor Evans Kidero’s regime in 2016-17, parking fees were at Sh1.98 billion, rates Sh2.26 billion, SBP at Sh1.7 billion, billboards and adverts at Sh720 million, and building permits at Sh1.28 billion.

City Hall is set to lower the daily downtown parking fees from Sh300 to Sh200 in attempt to increase revenue collection.
(Meaning no hope for kenyan's capital any time soon embarassed embarassed cry )

In 2013, Kidero increased parking fees from Sh140 to Sh300 but during election campaigns last year, Sonko pledged to reinstate it to Sh140, which has not happened.

According to the 2018-19 County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) released early this year, Nairobi has not hit its revenue target since 2013 by between 20 and 25 per cent.

For the last four financial years, billboards and advertising has been the best performing revenue stream as per set targets, while building permits have been relatively poor.

Land rates have been persistently the largest revenue stream, generating Sh10.27 billion over the last four financial years.

Poor collection mechanisms, poor rates records and inadequate enforcement are some of the challenges the land rates sector faces.

High default rate on payments, weak enforcement mechanisms and slow pace of devolution of the SBP have been blamed for its poor performance.
cry cry

The SBPs are issued for enterprises under The City of Nairobi (Licensing of Premise and Traders By-Laws 2007 ) that wish to operate within the limits of Nairobi city.

Nigeria with WORLD WORST GDP to Tax ratio teaching kenya how to collect taxes and revenues!

Give it up already. There is nothing Nigeria or Lagos can teach Kenya in anything serious - maybe music, soccer & nollywood. If I go ahead to dissect what 75B naira (around 200M) that is classified as other-tax in Lagos (forget about the miniscule taxes you collect as a state) - and we can see if Lagos can even collect that much money from parking fees, land rates and single business license.

Heed Bill Gates advice. Nigeria will NOT develop without paying Taxes.
