Laurel and Hyattsville, Maryland.

Like I stated earlier there are some Nigerians that do own Gas Stations and I have come across a number of them.

Hmm okay , I have been to those areas but never ran across Nigerian owned gas stations, good to know .

This is pretty encouraging though but I think we have the capacity to do more. I for one have not seen a gas station owned by a Nigerian in Chicago Even the hair industry where most of the users are blacks is been dominated by the Mexicans.

By the way building business here in the US or back in Nigeria which do you think is a better option

Nigeria

Now this question will be given a subjective response and approach.

If you want to build a business that requires Accountability, Quality and long term sustainability having businesses in the US is a better option but if you want businesses that do not require any accountability, is more focus on quantity rather than quality and careless about its long term sustainability than having the business in Nigeria is the option to go for.

I take that a little personally as we provide all of those in Nigeria

I too take that personally. There are businesses in Nigeria that are done by the books here taking all what you mentioned as standards in the US. Don't paint a gloom picture of the motherland.

I don't care what your opinion about me is.

I will never cover-up for mediocrity...and that is what we have in Nigeria.

I understand that saying the truth can sound very bitter in the ears of people in denial.

You are not alone.

You will need to adjust your withholdings to avoid this happening to you next year.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901008-why-did-my-refund-go-down-compared-to-last-year-s/amphy did my refund go down compared to last year's?

Why did my refund go down compared to last year's?

One big change in tax year 2018 is a new cap, or limit, on the SALT deduction (state and local property, income, and sales taxes). For couples filing separately, the SALT deduction is capped at $5,000, and for everyone else, it's $10,000. If you own property or live in a state with higher income taxes and property values, such as New York or California, your 2018 SALT deduction may not be as big as it was in prior years, when there was no cap.

Below, we've outlined other possible reasons for a year-over-year refund decrease. Keep in mind that without comparing your 2018 and 2017 returns line-by-line, it's impossible to provide you with a customized answer here.

Tip: If your refund is wildly off, you may have mistyped a dollar amount somewhere. An extra digit here, a missing number there, even a misplaced decimal point can have an eye-popping (but easily correctible) effect on your refund.

Changes in your income or tax rate
Although tax reform lowered the rates for five of seven tax brackets, your tax savings may show up in the form of more take-home pay in 2018, rather than a larger tax refund. This is especially true if you didn't update your W-4 for 2018.

Here are other possible reasons:

You (or your jointly-filing spouse) took on an additional job (especially non-wage income which is taxed at the higher self-employment tax rate);
You (or your jointly-filing spouse) got a significant raise but your W-4 stayed the same;
You sold investments;
Your filing status changed from last year;
You started receiving Social Security benefits or Roth IRA distributions;
Your unemployment income is being taxed;
You had gambling winnings;
You're paying a penalty for not having health insurance coverage in 2018.
Strange as it sounds, sometimes an income decrease can reduce your refund. One example is losing the Earned Income Credit (EIC) because you didn't have any earned income in 2018.

Losing certain credits or deductions
In addition to the new cap on the SALT deduction, here are other commonly-lost credits and deductions:

Your child turned 17 in 2018 (or has an ITIN) and is no longer eligible for the $2,000 Child Tax Credit (however, in its place you may be getting the new $500 Credit for Other Dependents);
You have older dependents, and this year's higher standard deduction and/or $500 Credit for Other Dependents is giving you a lower tax benefit than last year's personal and dependent exemptions (read more here);
You paid off your mortgage and can no longer deduct mortgage interest;
You didn't qualify for the Earned Income Credit this year;
You paid off your student loan and can no longer deduct the interest;
You're no longer eligible for certain education credits (or you took a different credit this year);
You didn't contribute to a Traditional IRA, or you weren't able to get the full deduction because your income was too high.

Did your accountant explain why it was so different this time. He/she should know, they should have explained this to you, and what to do differently next year.

If you are not self employed or have some other complicated issue, try a tax preparation software. You dont pay anything until you are ready to send it to the IRS. It wont hurt to try it. I've been doing my own for the last 6 years, it really isnt as hard as it seems.

Hi guys, what do ya'll think about the use of the n_word. Honestly I find it nauseating and I take offense if anyone attempt to use it on me. I had a few issues with some brother calling me that and they think I am a sellout for trying to be different.
You get mad when a pale skinned person call you that but you don't give a shit when you use each on each other. That sucks.

Lol. It's DJT's beloved tax cuts. You're paying more so the rich can pay less. More on his economic policies some people on here support.

That wasn't the original question though. I have no problem with black people using. White people on the other hand,I refer you to my friend's shirt below.

You take something someone tried to use to debase you and you repurpose it. Most cultures have words like that.
