It seems you misunderstood what I posted earlier. Further reading of comments from this thread made me understand that, from your admittance, you do not know how the universe came about, neither do you know of 'the process(es)' from which it came about. How then did you become an atheist, what informed your decision, moreso if you came from a religious background? The gist of my earlier post is that you make suppositions with a certainty that is similar to religious fundamentalists that say 'there is (a) god' Confirmed scientific theories are never wrong since they are based on observations, they may only be upgraded or superceded by a better one in the event of new observations. You display an ignorance of the history of science. Chemistry had it foundations on alchemy. Theories are superceded, some become obsolete and some eventually turn out to be wrong. A simple internet search would reveal that. I don't believe in arguing for argument sake and I find many atheists reason that way. I would rather learn than win an argument. Your original post reads like you are certain that there is no god, no afterlife, no 'supernatural' abilities even when you do not even know anything about the universe and the processes that led to its existence. It makes one think that you do this only to annoy the religious folks since you do not have any basis for your somewhat extreme positions. I am not religious btw, neither do I believe in any god because I do not see anything in my existence and learning that shows that there is one. My position is based on something, mainly science and personal experience, but science itself is prone to changes. Why I insist that one cannot be stand on science and speak like a zealot. Also, one cannot be an atheist – ala THERE IS NO GOD – in the literal sense because being that also requires evidence to show that there isn't a god, which everyone knows has not been proven. Those who then outrightly dismiss completely any possibility of a god/beign/intelligence is no different from a god believer. https://www.famousscientists.org/10-most-famous-scientific-theories-that-were-later-debunked/ https://www.toptenz.net/top-10-most-famous-scientific-theories-that-turned-out-to-be-wrong.php Martinez39: 2 Likes |

TheEminentLaity:I became an atheist simply because there were no evidences to support the existence of any religious gods and their doctrines. I further concluded that these gods never existed and were made up when I critically and rigorously analysed their claims. You display an ignorance of the history of science. Chemistry had it foundations on alchemy. Theories are superceded, some become obsolete and some eventually turn out to be wrong. A simple internet search would reveal that. I don't believe in arguing for argument sake and I find many atheists reason that way. I would rather learn than win an argument.Do you know what it means when a scientific theory is confirmed? Since according to you theories change, you should be skeptical of antimalarial drugs because the principles behind might be wrong? I repeat no confirmed scientific theory is wrong. They can only be superceded and upgraded. Alchemy wasn't the foundation of chemistry, it was just scientists breaking away from superstition to face facts. It's like telling me that religion is the foundation of science. Alchemy is based on nonsense and assumptions without evidences but chemistry is based on evidence. Your original post reads like you are certain that there is no god, no afterlife, no 'supernatural' abilities even when you do not even know anything about the universe and the processes that led to its existence. It makes one think that you do this only to annoy the religious folks since you do not have any basis for your somewhat extreme positions. There is no afterlife. The concept of an afterlife or a spiritual world are man's invention because he doesn't want to die. Those that believe in an afterlife should bring evidence to support their claim. I observe human life and there is no shred of indication that there is an afterlife. You keep trying to put words in my mouth. I said no one has any spiritual ability or gifts. Do you know what I mean by that? It seems you don't. Abilities like telling the future, performing miracles, disappearing, divine anointing etc are nonsense and no one possesses them. Abilities like a prodigious memory, football mastery on the level of Lionel Messi, prodigious mathematical abilities etc. are not spiritual or supernatural. They are natural but rare. Rare. I am not religious btw, neither do I believe in any god because I do not see anything in my existence and learning that shows that there is one. My position is based on something, mainly science and personal experience, but science itself is prone to changes. Why I insist that one cannot be stand on science and speak like a zealot.Confirmed scientific theories cannot change but can only be improved. A scientist can speak like a zealot on issues that science has already figured out but all scientists become humble on issues they know nothing about. Also, one cannot be an atheist – ala THERE IS NO GOD – in the literal sense because being that also requires evidence to show that there isn't a god, which everyone knows has not been proven. Those who then outrightly dismiss completely any possibility of a god/beign/intelligence is no different from a god believer.Lol. Can you prove that there is no indestructible pink elephant eternally sleeping at the centre of sun? Religious people are the ones that claimed that there is god, it's left for them to prove their claim not athiests. One can be an atheist but it takes great erudition in science. A deep study of quantum mechanics, mathematics, biology and other disciplines reveals the handwriting on the wall though this handwriting hasn't been confirmed. This handwriting is that there is no god and everything is physical and can be explained when discovered. Many things which people spiritualized turned out to have physical explanations and there has never been any physical observation for which there was a physical explanation that turned out be spiritual in nature. https://www.famousscientists.org/10-most-famous-scientific-theories-that-were-later-debunked/I will check out your website. As an atheist of course I'm going to say I don't believe in any god/gods existing.. But here's where it gets crazy, if I put on my believers hat I will spew so many "proofs" that all believers here are spewing but do they actually hold up? No, they don't. If they did god believers would believe the same thing and speak in one single voice, let's say you argue that they can't because of fallible human reasoning that could lead them astray, then how do you know you aren't one of them? Do you know why it's inconclusive god/gods exist? It's because it's explained in a way that protects it from ever being detected outside of belief.. Do you know what else falls into such categories, fairy tales, ghost encounters, ufo encounters, near death experiences, hallucinations or visions as they are called, etc.. All these things are never direct, happen when the individual is susceptible to emotional, hormonal, chemical, and/or outside influences that cannot be trusted These influences and their accompanying experiences when documented can be advertised as revelations from otherworldly beings... Beings who somehow want to communicate but lack direct approaches.. Why hide in the shadows? The myriad excuses range from human beings lacking or losing the ability to converse with such beings through either our or a third party's actions.. So is the solution excluding direct communication and instead exchanging that indirect unconfirmable, easily dismissed experiences? It's bad enough on a neutral ground these experiences can be ignored or thought not to exist in the first place, when they're believed to exist what do these beliefs teach us about our fellow human beings, do they bring us together or divide us into groups who share the same strong urge to believe something we don't know to be true.. If God(used in capital to enforce its common usage) is real and wants to be an active part in our lives it/he/she/they would be 100%, that's assuming it wanted to in the first place.. That leads to another thing, why would a being vastly different from human beings on a level of omnipotence want human recognition, why would he want a throne and kingdom when humans left such systems long ago to form democracies.. It's easy to align dots and see that a religion born of a certain time would have the features of its birth, throne, kingdoms, gold and precious minerals to adorn, chariots, etc.. A modern day religion would also have modern day themes, like say scientology, they believe humans are bodies with trapped alien spirits from another planet that came here on ships that look like airplanes... Do you believe that? Why? It all boils down to the why? and of what use is it? The reason we could accept these foreign religions in Nigeria isn't completely because they were forced on us.. It answered those questions above good enough at the time... The why was because the white man or Arab religion made them successful and its usage were the trade it allowed to happen... The calendar used today was brought on by religious traders.. So as at then it had a use. But as we all know change is constant.. We started learning about the world around us and how we shouldn't adopt ideas simply because of fancy, and if it worked, to examine deeper and weed out the most useful from the least useful.. this approach is called science.. Hate it, demonize it, denigrate it.. It is what has made human beings great and powerful in this world.. That ancient tiger that would have eaten our ancestors alive wasn't killed by prayer and fasting, it was killed by adopting the best method to protect ourselves... we barricaded our homes and hunted them when they least expected it, we made spears and tied rocks to wood to bash the hyenas that chased us at night. But fear is an old friend, alone and afraid we knelt down, carved wood and stone and begged them to help us when we didn't know how to.. Has that changed over the years? "Where is my help, my help cometh from the lord".. If you want to believe these things because you feel safer and more alive with that, that's absolutely fine and every bit as much of the human experience as you can have, but when you start whining, carrying megaphones to insist on being right about it all then you are in for your whole world being rocked from within.. An ideal society is one that recognizes the manipulative nature of having a state religion and put in place laws that keep cross tampering out of reach.. Federal Road wasn't made for Muslims to migrate on, neither was it made for cattle.. Megaphones weren't meant to wake people at 3am about salvation, heaven or hell. These tales you keep insisting on their accuracy have never been used outside belief to make something new, they are either translated or inscribed, and every inscription bars the meaning each passage might have had in its original copy.. Based on all these and other things I can confidently say a god does not exist, or more correctly, there is no reason for me to believe a God exists, can exist, or will exist in the near future without one or more of these points changing.. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Martinez39:You overestimated my intelligence.nice one bro.the bible and the Quran made reference to Julio Caesar, both also talked about queen Sheba, and history tells us that both actually existed.apart from being religious book, both book serves as a way to revisit history,Egypt,Ethiopia,Jordan,Israel etc, are in the bible, and today they still exist till today,so point number one both books are valid Number two,Muhammad came three hundred years after Christ,so just take a minute to think about this.almost all stories, all happenings in both books were the same, only the Jesus and Muhammad stories differs a bit.so if after three hundred years Muhammad could write a book of that has same stories, prophecy as the bible, then you have to know something was leading him,and that something leading him God.mind you there was no Christian in Arab land at that time, point number two. We've heard stuff,Noah's ark was found in turkey, the building of queen Sheba still exist, miracles happens everyday,we've heard stories of people who died and came back alive,to tell stuff about after life.point number three No one was there when evolution theory took place, those people that brought that idea only believed in what they didn't see also, and also there was no evidence that it really took place,so I have a right to believe in God,who I don't see also, but I have little evidence of him.tell me about your physical process am ready 1 Like |

Come make I take you go baba side make he nak u with jazz make you cough money cone out. and then you will start explaining how it happened. Instead to seek for truth, you seek for evidence or rather seek to disprove evidences. Before I move on. do you believe that man is a spirit , has a soul and lives in a Body? Do you understand that man can leave their body and go places?do you believe that a woman or man can manipulate weather ,turn to a bird and fly? I can help you see these things in case you haven't. I can take you to my village if you don't believe. There's a God that beats your human capacity; intellect and proofs. There's a master planner of everything. There's a higher power that render the human senses absolutely clueless. But I'm serious about taking you to my village for proofs. If you do not believe in God after 3 days, I'll refund you for wasting your time. 1 Like |

One of the challenges that have being complicating the reality of God and His existence to you is that you are too rigid in accepting all the physical things that have proven the existence of God and I keep on wondering the type of proof that you still want to know, the Bible and the Quran that you are pretending not to believe in have lots to proof that God exist, let me start from the Bible and take you to what is happening in our own generation now. The first man and woman that existed on earth was created by God, and then they were able to see Him face to face, they communicated, hugged, had handshake and did other things physically, but they abuse that privilege , it's a pity they aren't alive to come and confirm this, but since you believe that nobody existed has Adam, Eve, Abraham, David e.t.c, I won't dwell on that, but if you can do yourself a favour, visit isreal or make your research, then you will see people confirming it for you themselves that they are lineage of all these people you don't believe in their existence. With the advancement of technology I think human should be able to create life that will be a concrete proof that God doesn't exist, but science they haven't been able to do so, life didn't come by chance, it's purely spiritual not even physical, the spiritual only gave birth to the physical that we are seeing, if you are to be sincere with yourself and I, you must have heard if not seen of dead that have risen after days which physical means is responsible for this? Noises from the environment or what? I don't know the part of the country you are from or the part of the world you are from, there was a popular Nigeria musician that died and rose and gave his experiences of his adventure on life after life before he died again, you may still want to use sciectific illogical fallacies to proof this wrong, but that doesn't change the truth, I'm a science person, but I have not heard or seen the laboratory preparation of drinkable water in the laboratory, can the reason been that the chemical combination is so simple to what scientists do not want to waste their time on? NO. Scientists are only finding knowledge concerning what has been in existing, scientists can't create anything, they can only reproduce something from what God has created through a means that is highly beyond what our small brain can comprehend. there's no way we can have access to all this thing apart from the physical means. But if God doesn't exist, will there be any spelling like GOD, or will there be any thought as regards the existence or nonexistence of God? I believe in Miracle, because I have seen where miracle occurred, and this is as a result of supernatural power and forces controlled by the supreme being GOD. 2 Likes |
