That area named Lekki Phase 1 was actually known as Maroko years back. That time, it was occupied by Ilaje fishemen and Eguns living in shanties. In fact, the night they were forcibly evicted and shanties burnt, I passed there that very night.

They resettled some of the Maroko evictees at this Lekki Resettlement Scheme at Mobil Road adjacent Ajah. That's why that area is called Ilaje. Wow.

wow I am hearing this for the first time. Thanks

So all those olosho are still men of calibre. Or those agberos living in lekki are more civilized or those yahoo boys are more educated. Rubbish Many houses on the island are built by people in the mainland. The Landlord prefer to stay in the mainland and the Tenants prefers to stay in the island. You see the sense. I'm an insider.

1. You can wear a pair of jean truser for 1 month there without washing it. It takes miracle for one to wear cloth twice in mainland.

2. Island is like the galaxy. when you shoot, you only land in the moon on stars. But in main land, hmmm.

3Life is easier as people over there value life because they have tasted it and and are enjoying it and also they have future. Unlike agege where a nonentity can end your life/future in a blink of an eye.

This is may sound weird, but it is deep and very true.

Lots of Yorubas will vote APC. Lots of Yorubas will vote PDP. Lots of Igbiras will vote APC. Lots of them will vote PDP. Same applies to Edos, Hausa, Niger Deltans and people's from different parts of the country etc.

I think that's democracy. I wonder why you felt the need to single out Yorubas
Apologies. I was just being realistic based on what I am seeing. At least from the South.

I know what I am saying bro.

1. I never get cert to secure better job, still a student

2. He shud nt think about getting me a job and tell me thinking that I stay on Island. I can't work at Island and live at Mainland.. So I put that up so that he will know that I have only God at Island, except if he will. Be able to help me out

3. Related to no 1, since I never get cert to work fully, I was thinking he cud use me for casual errands that he wunt be able to attend to. At least from there I will make a living too

So bro, I don't understand what u just said sef

Talk wetin?

Since the indigenes threw the MD of Lekki Ftz inside water and drowned him some years ago, Government no dey put mouth again o.

The biggest scam in Nigeria right now is committed by Real estate companies in Ibeju-Lekki area. Thousands of investors have lost Billions there but they don't know yet.
please explain
Re: What Are The Benefits Of Living In Lekki? by Trexnemesis(m): 11:09pm On Feb 17, 2019
1. Lekki mosquitoes get teeth and have horns.

2. Malaria there be like advanced typhoid

3. Groundwater level too close to surface and salty.

4. High groundwater level leads to constant and prolonged flooding.

5. Lagos generally mostly below sea level, making VI/Lekki vulnerable to ocean surge particularly during possible future tsunami

6. Salty environment aggravates rust leading to quick vehicle depreciation.

7. High cost of living

8. Too many "runs" girls in that axis. Dem no go allow you save shishi grin

you can't compare mainland to Island due to the caliber of people living there. island has more educated population with a more civilized way of living. you get to mingle to great minds. mainland on the other hand, my brother lets not just talk about mainland coz alot of them are on Nairaland and their bark is worse their bite. you can also trust them to hijack any thread grin

Wow, Just imagine if a white person had written exactly the same thing you wrote. The word Caliber how do you define that. I don't live in that country but I do visit occasionally. Your so call Island that I happened to see during the raining season, in my opinion is the most expensive piece of slum land I have ever seen.

Lekki is very dirty angry angry

From Fola osibo onto Hakeem Dickson, that murky water just at the entrance there to Durosinmi Etti, disgusting. Try and go on a walk or running round Lekki, you will hate what you see in the open shallow gutters. From debris to pyroclastic materials, plastic bottles, waste of all sorts etc.

Lekki is just over hyped. Lack of maintenance and proper cleaning. Open drainages with wicked mosquitoes breeding in, erratic power supply(everyone just turns on their gen) nobody cares. They roll up their car windows n drive off like they can't see their terrain needs better care and maintenance.

Omo the list is endless, stop this baseless comparism between island and mainland, Lekki is far from the ideal.
Vgc is even better off cos it's well maintained and managed.

If only Lekki will be better managed only then could you see it as the haven you now portray until then, let all these arguments stop.

This Lekki no be am.

Most especially that big drainage close to prime waters when u enter through Ikate.

Ha, It's been long o. Like mid 90s. Between 95 to 96. Can't remember the exact year. But what I remember was that as at that time, Langbasa was a bush with tall grasses. Land there was like 50k.

They offered 2 plots to my uncle for 70k back then but he refused. He went to Abuja where he built 2 houses.

Elrufai destroyed both.

chai... A lot of people miss opportunities I swear. It reminds me of my mum who missed similar opportunity when she was rich.

Have they allocated your portion to you?
Try to take a surveyor there to check your portion if it's not committed land.

If it is committed, sell it!

What about people who buy from real estate companies?

don't blame him. He has no idea due to his background and that is why I schooled him a bit. Yeah, the man might not help... But at least appreciate his sincerity for revealing his lapses.

We don't find that much around.

Besides, you might just pick a worthless staff dressed in suit than a guy like him who can be very hard working.

Personally, I know for a fact that all those HR routines don't add much nor tell who really want to work. In fact, the best liars and pretenders get the job...
