Death Toll In Kajuru Attacks Has Risen To 130 —el-rufai by theomoscoboy: 12:17am On Feb 20, 2019
Kaduna State Governor Nasir el - Rufai
on Tuesday sought the deployment of
more troops in the state to maintain
peace during the general elections .
El - Rufai spoke shortly after a security
meeting convened by President
Muhammadu Buhari ended at the
Presidential Villa in Abuja .
He stated that from latest figures he
had received, over 130 lives were lost in
the recent attacks in Kajuru Local
Government Area of the state .
He recalled how some people doubted
the initial report on the loss of 66 lives,
adding that the updated toll had risen
to over 130 .
The governor called those who said
nobody died in the attack
“ irresponsible ” .
He said, “ The last report we got is that
over 130 people were killed, not even
66. And the Fulani leaders are
providing the names of all these people;
we have the list and we will release it
to the press.
“ We can release the pictures of the
people killed and how the army had to
be there to help bury them two days
after they were killed because the
bodies were decomposing .
“ But some people are being
irresponsible, they are pretending this
has not happened because it does not
fit their ethnic or partisan narrative . It
is totally irresponsible because this can
happen to anyone of us. ”
He said he had been appealing to the
victims ’ families to avoid reprisals not
to worsen the security situation in the
area.
El - Rufai added , “ We requested
enhanced military presence in
particular locations that are either
affected by rural banditry, these are the
local government of Birnin - Gwari/Giwa
Angchukwu and areas where there has
been a history of either electoral
violence or ethno - religious intolerance.
“ We have already mapped out local
arrangements with the garrison
commander and the commissioner of
police and we have made adequate
arrangements to ensure that every
citizen of Kaduna State will be free to
vote in an atmosphere of peace and
security.
“ We got assurances from Mr President
that whatever security assets we need
in addition to what is already on the
ground to ensure peaceful elections
will be provided. ”
The governor said the meeting dwelt
on the general insecurity in some
northern states, particularly Borno,
Yobe , Adamawa and Kaduna.
While the case of Yobe , Adamawa and
Borno had to do with attacks by Boko
Haram, he said the meeting touched on
the Kajuru killings .
Powered by Ru El - Rufai said, “ The governor of Borno
State submitted a comprehensive brief
on the situation in Borno and Yobe
states, which he is very familiar with,
having been on the seat for eight years.
“ The governor of Adamawa State
presented a situation report regarding
Adamawa and I submitted a briefing
based on what has been happening in
Kaduna State in the last few weeks and
months.
“ We noted the significant improvement
in the security situation across our
states, in spite of the challenges and
thanked the Federal Government for
making available security assets to the
states any time we needed them , which
has led to some level of stability of the
situation .
“ Across the states , we are ready for
elections; we do not believe that the
level of challenges will preclude
elections not taking place all over our
states. Of course, in the case of Borno,
other than one or two local
governments that may vote outside of
their immediate areas, every voter will
vote in their local government,
compared to the situation in 2015 that
some voters in Borno had to vote in
Maiduguri .”
El - Rufai spoke just as the Kaduna State
Commissioner of Police , Mr Ahmed
Abdulrahman, announced the arrest of
11 suspects in connection with the
Kajuru killings .
He said they would be arraigned on
Thursday.
Also speaking after the meeting , Borno
State Governor Kashim Shettima said he
was ready to die if that would end the
insurgency in the state .
Shettima stated that despite the recent
attack on his convoy that led to the loss
of lives , he would return to the
Maiduguri - Gamboru road for campaign
next week , adding that he would not
drive in a bulletproof car .

The "deafening" silence in the media and on many fora like this shows that the people killed are Muslims.

Christians from the religionof love have raided a Muslim community and killed everything living there - it's not reported or underreported.

Even that useless professor called Chidi Odinkalu would not allow the governor to announce the tragedy before dispelling him out of hate for Islam and muslims. That's how his people behave everywhere.

They supported Ortom for the state sponsored mass burial of slain people in Benue, he can call any figure of casualties he likes and the media would take it as it is. But a certain el-Rufai shouldn't say a word when his people are killed because they're Muslims.

The same way they made us believe muslims were the problem in plateau until the killing of General alkali lef us to discover that pond.

They're the most heartless people you can find anywhere. They claim to be Christians , but very deadly and dangerous.

They lost their condemnation voice since this incident happened.

El-rufai didn't kill them, Christians did.

How you people blame Islam and muslims for everything, but change the question when your brethren are the killers is amazing.

Accept it...Christianity preaches violence.

Militarize the parts you can never win and muscle the results

That has been rhe game plan all along. That's why it's important not to stagger elections. You won't have enough security operative to manipulate as before

Orton ain't dividing his people along ethnic identity, bt elrufia's political strategy is built on manipulating ethnic and religious identity to gain relevance and visibility.

The Christian leaders in the state made el-rufai to assume that posture(that's if that allegation is true). We can't continue to politicize human lives.

Have you ever seen any muslim group or individuals disputing ortom on his bandied casualty figure? They condemn the attack and sympathise with the governor and the victims.

Have you seen any Christian leader, group or or individuals condemn the attack? No! They condemn el-rufai who lost his subjects.

They dispute the figure jointly released by the governor and the security agencies. I have never heard Christian leaders dispute figures from their own region, but they're doing that when muslims are killed.

In fact, the Christians and their leaders in the state only rise to speak when it has to do with their own, but won't speak when Birnin Gwari has higher figures from fulani attacks.

The Christians. They have a way of reporting killings in zamfara, Niger , birnin Gwari, sokoto , katsina, borno or yobe. Most times, gunmen are called in their poor reportage.

If similar killings take place in plateau, Taraba, Benue , or southern Kaduna, fulani people are called because they have a political statement with this and can give their frontpages or banner headlines to such stories because Christians are the victims.

Most of you don't read, so I'd forgive you. Just use Google to run a search on atrocities of Christianity and the number of people it has killed, then do same for Islam and compare - then you'd know which religion has killed more.
