Hey guys,

@Ayideji787, please what course are you applying for? One of my brothers have been contacting supervisors since last year for a Masters in a Veterinary Medicine. None has ever replied !!!

Is there any special way you guys talk to supervisors? It’s too hard to get one

@Ggetter50.

Master's in Biomedical Veterinary Science. I wrote to over 300hundred Prof in different schools, most replied but was a negative response.

While some said if I can wait for 2020 Spring but I can't.

My present potential supervisor replied me 4months after I sent him an email. He replied me this January since September I sent him an email. He said Dear Ayo, have you secured a graduate student position yet? That if not, he is considering taking me as additional student for the September intake and that he would nominate me for funding grants. After the email, he didn't replied me then I call him on phone. And he replied me after the phone via email, I should submit my application in his name and once he reviews it, he ll contact me.

But I can guide you on how to approach if you still need to.

Keep trusting in God. Nothing is impossible for God to do.

Statement of purpose is for your visa and yes it's your mouthpiece to the VO
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by AAO7(f): 9:31pm On Feb 20, 2019
I can imagine. I just went through this but prevailed eventually.
I used alot of online solutions like small PDF and could only get it down to 5mb without loosing quality. I had to restart the process a few times... Pretty frustrating!

Here's my suggestion (I'm not tech savvy or anything) but scan using the lowest Dpi..I use 75dpi on my scanner
Then I compressed each document before merging (PDF merge)
Then after merging I compressed using Small PDF twice
Eventually I got to the 5mb
I tried to use pdfaid but the quality was reduced so I used docuhub and I only reduced the image quality to Bout a third; we came out just on 4mb and document quality was minimally affected.
It's hard to do a lossless compression especially when they are heavy documents.

A statement of purpose is also required when applying for admission.

The funds in your mom's account is insufficient. I'll advice you tell your mom to deposit more funds into her account or source for additional assistance from someone i.e by getting a co-sponsor to improve your application financial sufficiency.
Thankz Frank

It's population. Nigeria has more population which leads to more applications. Ghana population is just 28 million

Also include number of people who can afford it as well as the pressure to study outside country. Nigeria has more of both.

Aha. Perhaps the CIC operates more freely in India unlike Nija or could there be a preference for Indians as they may be perceived to be more productive to their economy.

No you do not need to present a statement of purpose for an undergraduate degree application. You only do so when applying for your study permit.

Yes you can. Should the immigration officer at POE ask you why you're arriving so early, you can possibly say you want to acclimatize with the new environment prior to school resumption. You will have no qualms with that.

Good info, please can you help with the scholarship application/procedure, I will be so grateful.

I went to and through their website but the link was not functional.

Thanks in advance

I hardly see anyone recommending University of Waterloo, Two of my friends are presently on FULL scholarship in that institution, and they dont even have 1st class.
Anyway, it depends greatly on several factors.

Let's perform a little arithmetic here.

Annual expenses = 19,034CAD$ which equivalent to 5,182,270CAD$

Mom's bank statement = N5,000,000+N2,000,000 = N7,000,000

Funds available in mom's account - Annual Expenses
N7,000,000 - N5,182,270 = N1,817, 730

In light of the above, mom will be left with N1,817, 730 after paying your first year tuition and living expenses. Now let's think like a visa officer, will the remaining funds be sufficient for your younger siblings and mom's personal welfare during your first year of study in Canada? As a consequence, you stand a better chance with two eyes closed if Mom can increase the funds to 4-5M.
