With these numbers in the Senate and House, I'm expecting Wike to start filling in APC form soon in order to try and fulfill his Presidential ambition. He was hounded by IG of police, while in prison, They organized a recall for him which was fully backed by the governor and it failed, He went into election and won his Senatorial district


Saraki have always survived in politics by aligning with the govt in center, If Saraki had maintained his peace, didnt plot the coup in the Senate and just rolled with the APC arrangement, he will still be Senator now, but leading the revolt, this election became all about shaming Saraki and Atiku. Now Saraki has been retired from Kwara politics. Now let him spend his money and not use govt money for a while

Atiku is a classic chop I chop politician who is friends with many politicans, Running against Buhari was like a desperate hail mary from him. I think this might be his last attempt unless he tries again in 2023 when he is 76yrs

Jonathan is not a politician that was why all those Timipre Silva and co were disrespecting him even as president. In the hierarchy of Bayelsa while Sylva and Alams were top dogs, Jonathan was justa guy hoping to be LGA chairman and was picked to be Deputy governor.

Wike and Amaechi can settle easily if people like Tinubu broker peace. They came up together.

Amaechi, Dakuku and Wike are all part of the same cosa nostra and all came together to enthrone Odili as Young Turks. They were all aged 33 and under when they mobilised to seize power for Odili. Wike actually had to.falsify his age by 2 years to allow him contest for Obio Akpor LGA in 1999 cos he was too young to run. They organised all together with Odili to take power. Wike took Obio Akpor which was the largest LGA, Amaechi took the house and Dakuku took Opobo. They were the young Turks who enthroned Odili.

Amaechi was my next door neighbor in Borokiri in the mid-1990s, when he was a PA to Odili. Dakuku lived in his boysquarters then and Wike lived not far away in Town. Then we used to call Amaechi Uncle Uche whilst Dakuku often stops to.play football with us. This was after Abacha had kicked out 3rd Republic civilian Government where Odili had been Deputy Governor. When their chance came in 1999, they all seized it together as a team. On a more personal note, my Uncle brought these guys into politics in 1992, but they dealt with him severely from 1999 onwards.

Ijaw people couldn't really have space in PDP then cos it was upland dominated due to Abachas split of Rivers into Bayelsa that gave upland people the weight of numbers in the new Rivers State so most of the big Ijaw players had to go into opposition by 1999. Remember Marshall Harry. PDP controlled upland then while APP won riverine areas.

That Bush boys matter was more of a Kingship tussle between War Canoe houses. Kingship was traditionally reserved for Ado Royal house and they had produced all 8 Kings, but after the 8th King's death, Atekes clan installed King from outside Royal House and Bush boys fought back. That's when PDP weighed in on the matter, supporting Ateke against Bush boys, simultaneously flushing out APP at the same time.

No. APC has 61 senators while PDP has 33 and YPP has 1.

11 senatorial district has been declared inconclusive and 3 not yet declared.

Make we dey look. The last 2 elections show most of the votes are up North. And Almajiri no dey like to vote Southern candidate, so if Dem want win, they have to go to the North. That zoning shït only applies to a one party state. Once you have a 2 party system, it's about which party can outdo the other, and the best way to ensure that is to field Northern candidate against Southern opposition. I think Wike is likely to win PDP ticket. If APC field Yoruba man, a 3rd party will emerge for a Northern candidate.

APC and PDP will field Southerners and Northern VPs. I foresee a Fashola and Ribadu/El Rufai for APC while PDP will be Wike and Kwankwaso/Tambuwal. Almaijri will vote who they like most in the VP positions. Almajiri voted during OBJ and GEJ era and they will do so in 2023
