FlintGuevara: I have been following several post on d lost from birds especially dt of zartech A lot of factors play Dre roles in poultry management. Right from day old to sales, I am neither justifying the hatcheries but rather I wish to stress that our management b4 and after arrival of dis birds is key B4 arrival, disinfect ur brooding room, heat up d environment, ensure dt ur antistress, multivitamin and even antibiotics are all ready. Don't forget ur feed, ensure dt ur av enough feed for d first 3 days. After arrival, keep close monitoring and don't just leave dem to ur care givers, continue with heating, administer antibiotics in first 5 days before vitamins and vaccines. There are alot to be done on our part, al hatcheries av challenges once in a while. And u know our country, dey will push dre problems to d market but when we are on guard, we will be able to reduce our lost to nearest minimum. Happy farming |

Re: ... by crossblane1(m): 9:39am On Feb 24, 2019 |
how can someone actually differentiate between coccidiosis and shedding of intestinal lining in broilers. |
Re: ... by Nobody: 10:18am On Feb 24, 2019 |
crossblane1:It's very difficult to differentiate. If using organic to deworm, usually cures the two as it will kill the Cocci and shed the intestinal lining at the same time. Cocci normally includes red color at the advanced stage while some of the batch may be shitting out brown poop at an earlier stage. Normal intestinal shedding will look more like whitish shedding than blood. |

EMMAACHILE:i saw bllod stained poo yesterday but they are all healthy and smart. |
Re: ... by Nobody: 3:02pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
crossblane1:Did you apply any drug before seeing this? |
Re: ... by crossblane1(m): 5:44pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
yes i gave them chopped fresh onions in the day time |
Re: ... by sammorad(m): 6:45pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
crossblane1: My take on dis. Shedding intestinal linings is quite different from cocci. While shedding of linings is just light reddish, advance cocci is an obvious blood discharge, in d early stage it is browninsh and watery. Intestinal linings comes early in d morning, I but cocci is continues in d day. From my little but wide experience, I av not seen mortality from intestinal shedding but of course we know how deadly cocci can be. Happy farming |
Re: ... by Nobody: 7:45pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
crossblane1:That's the reason why. Onions does both functions |
Re: ... by crossblane1(m): 7:46pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
EMMAACHILE:u mean onions is also an anti cocci |
Re: ... by Nobody: 10:19pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
crossblane1:Yes of course. Onion or Garlic or Pepper work almost the same |

Re: ... by Nyjeria: 12:05pm On Feb 25, 2019 |
EMMAACHILE:Grow wild onion and garlic and add to feed - just chop up - regularly done in smaller farms in India. If you have any questions or need advice you can ask here > https://thebigbookproject.org/ask/ |

Why not find out how to combat coccidiosis organically with bitter leaf extract? You'll be glad you did, and you don't need all the leaves in the world to help your chicks. Find out here: https://guidefreak.com/how-to-use-bitter-leaf-extract-for-coccidiosis/ In case you worry if your birds will drink the mixture, see how mine reacted the first time here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6yEhep3aIQ 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: ... by Turks: 10:16pm On Feb 26, 2019 |
- Cocci poo occurs every other time of the day coupled with lethargy and weakness of the birds. - Shedding intestinal lining occurs very early in the morning. crossblane1: |

Senatordeproff:Check your feed. Get a good multivitamin like miavit/amin'total/alternative and also get a calcium supplement like Cal D or liquid keprofoscal |
Re: ... by ezkimow(m): 6:14am On Mar 11, 2019 |
Senatordeproff: Are they on Chikun feed? if yes you can either get a calcium supplement and add to their water or change the feed. Mine also had same problem and I lost 2 chicks because of that, but they are doing better now since I started giving them Calciplus. Good luck sir. |
