Hi guys Im Jeff, great work here. Your works are very helpful.

Please I have a situation on my hands.
I have a sister in Canada who asked me to apply for a school there for my master's once done with my BSc. But unfortunately I didn't graduate with a second class upper. It has really affected my chances because she originally planned I will apply and get funding for the course... Toxicology under Biomedical Science in any university. Most unis in canada require a second class upper last I checked. ( pls you can correct me on anything here).
I mailed the graduate program assistant in the University of Guelph who told me that I could apply for upgrading... to upgrade my degree to enable me apply for the masters program.

1. Has anyone any experience in the upgrade and how it works

2. Does anyone know any school where I can apply for with my results and still get funding or a scholarship.

3. How much do you think the upgrade will be. ( mailed the undergraduate counsellor of the school... still waiting for their response but just thought should ask here as well)

4. Is there any additional information you could help me with. It'll be really appreciated.

Thank you.

Please, do I need to write another SOP for the visa application or same that I submitted to my school before gaining admission.
Secondly, my total funding is about 18.780 CAD per annum...do I still need to provide account statement. Can it cover for me and my spouse? If not, like how much should we have in our accounts to qualify.

Also, my spouse is a lawyer, will his/her stamp/seal or call certificate substitute for all those company documents. Then, the visa application fee will it be paid double(husband and wife) or as a single applicant for couple. Then what are the picture size to print, and what background colour shoul the digital passport be?

Finally, what is pay stubs for four months. (Stubs of what precisely) and what are the CIC documents?

Nice Job you doing here Naijaforeigner, even tho u have gotten ur Visa u still come up here to render help, unlike peeps in ur shoe that never return here.. Good Job.

He could have goofed but there are better ways to point this than calling him clueless. On the college Visa, it is much more tougher than it used to be back in the days and like he advised, if you can get a Masters admission, seek it otherwise; put in your best in your application.

Hi,

I'm actually not new on this thread. I could not have access to my old account. I will be graduating with master's program soon and I have been admitted in a school in Canada for Ph.D. with funding. My question is; should I wait till I graduate before applying for a study permit or I can apply now?

Don't wait. Kindly go ahead and apply. I was in same situation years back. I will advice you use the online option cos it is less stressful.

A Little Insight

I think the main thing with being on this page is that we should just keep going straight up without looking both sides for assurance or certainty, we have to be VISA YES!!! no Rules.

Am sorry if i have disenfranchised alot of People, I may not have noticed, I should also have know i am here with Nigerians where everything is possible no matter how absurd or irregular it may seem.
As a Science student if one situation is different , it is classed a Situation that doesn't work or Exist. It has to work for at least a percentage number of people to be deemed a feasibility. But here, if it worked for one person 10 years ago or yesterday, it is a way! Who Cares about the procedure?

I follow some foreign pages like Quora , and IMMHELP, ... I am amazed at how they offer advise. A "NO" is a "NO", A YES is a YES!
Nigerians are a difficult bunch of people, living on probabilities and prayers, how about common sense?

I have not helped anyone, said by someone here, .. when i help i have to come to your house to tell you.
The truth is bitter, that is the only thing i am sticking with, if you don't like it jump my Moniker.

Oga, calm down ooo. I am not a science student however, one thing is certain and it is the fact that visa application/issuance isn't science. I understand it is much more difficult to get a study permit issued for a PGD than it is for a Masters nonetheless, there is a possibility of getting it which makes it not a straight Yes/No situation.

Give your advice the best way you can without discouraging people. Many on here need encouragement as such, you can help analyze their situation and advice on the best way you think they should approach it.

Hello Famz, I am planning to apply for a Canadian study visa in few days. I got admission to study for an MSc/PhD degree in Chem & Pet Eng at University of Calgary. I applied initially for a PhD degree but was offered due nonavailability of enough funding to support my PhD studies. I was promised a change of program depending on my first semester performance. My scholarship is worth $21k per annual and will like to confirm if that funding will be enough for upkeep. Please note that the funding will be used to cater for the tuition fee as (tuition of about $14k for 1st year and $3k for 2nd). Thanks.

Congrats on your admission to UCalgary. A $21k funding doesn't meet what you need pay as tuition however, my suggestion would be upload your funding alongside about $6000 in your account to show you meet the minimum tuition plus $10k cost of living. Once you get to school, you might be able to cope with your $21k with some on campus job to make extra money to augment your funding. Just mention me if you need further clarification.

My dad was my sponsor, I added his business certificates, reference letter from bank, sponsorship letter ,landed properties survey, deeds to some shops in the market,SOA( personal had cash flow of 50m+ and closing of 8m,while the business cash flow was 100m+ with closing of about 13m both 6months respectively).
Please how do I apply for GCMS note as I don’t know anyone in canada and also how to I tackle this travel history stuff and not being able to fund myself without working since my dad is my sponsor and funds look good,or is it cause of my bank statement I Iincluded. ASAP

Hi,

I'm happy for you, that your heart desire was granted and you're now in Canada. While i don't have answers to your questions (because really, who knows if cic checks these things, we don't work there), I have a question of my own:
This forum has given a lot to you - through the help of Gd and the little knowledge you got from here, you got your visa - how have you in-turned given back to people here?
Or are you one of those people who just take but don't give back?
PS: i'm not judging you, just curious about how you've given back to his community. why? because you've come here again to ask for help, only God knows when you'll be here again after this help is rendered to you.

I have a quick question which was asked by a close associate.. Does CIC verify bank statements transactions and balance ?? if yes would banks be willing to release such sensitive information ?? or do you need to give consent to bank to release these info? Thanks smiley

Hello,

I think @042viber has replied you. But i'll add my two cents: you can apply without an agent, and successfully get the visa. I'm talking from experience. You'll need to go to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/get-documents.html to know what you'll need. Then come back and we'll walk you through the difficult ones.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

Congratulations on your admission.
Your sister can be your sponsor.
What is required in the sponsor's account is tuition+10000cad; so in your case it is 6300cad+10,000cad.
I'm assuming your sister has other dependents apart from you, attached to her. Which means she should have way more than the 16300cad in her account, so that if she gives you the money, she can still have much left over for her other dependents. So, when applying (i.e submitting the statement of account), make sure she has way more than 17000cad in her account.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

I've never attended either school but I know they are really good school. I don't know what these negative reviews are, but if they are based on areas you deem important, then look for another school.

Cheers.

Mofpearl:
Hello house,

Is there anyone who attends or has attended Dalhousie or University of Manitoba?

What is your review of the university?

I have read really negative reviews about both universities so I am seeking more reviews and I hope someone may be able to shed more light on this.

Lol... chill. He's just speaking based on what he's seen. Remember it's different strokes for different folks. If you've gotten your biometric validity letter, don't worry. They haven't officially informed you of a decision yet, so continue in your prayers and continue believing God that you've received it.

Good luck.

Does that mean that one cannot receive correspondence letter b4 medical request sir? Does it mean that everyone that received correspondence letter b4 medical request were denied? I was this king correspondence comes after background check before eligibility review. My thought oh! I don't know ooh.

I heard of someone that got her eligibility review b4 her medical request. And she equally got her visa.

Hello,

While i can't help with other questions, i'll speak on question 2. You can get masters with funding with a 2.2 depending on the CGPA, and the intended course of study. If Toxicology isn't really working out, look for other courses related to your undergraduate course. Just use Google. There is a wealth of knowledge that can be accessed through it, take advantage.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

please use google for this, because most of us don't keep these information in our heads. Just google "schools that offer 'the course she wants do study' in Canada". Her certificates in teaching would help if she wants to study a course in education.

Hopefully someone else gives a better answer.

Hello,

Let me use myself as an example. I got a funding for 20K for a year, but had to use a statement of account that had 28K as a closing balance for the application. So what i'm saying in essence is use a statement of account that has as much money as you can possible have. SOA should have tuition+10,000cad in it.

Good luck.
