stepo707: Wow I'm using NYSC work experience as a secondary school teacher, although zero points would be claimed... hope my chances are high. Please which body will evaluate my MSc |

AdetonaDami:depends on what occupation you nominating and how high your point is.you need 65points to be able to have a chance.its the basic requirement. That mean you need to do well in your english exam |

stepo707: Yeah bro, thanks for your info. I've read everything on it. As per my qualification MSC civil engineer, Engineers Australia will be assessing it. For a secondary school teacher (ANZSCO 241411), AITSL will be assessing it. But what I dont get it is that...I dont have work experience as a civil engineer yet and just a year as a teacher during NYSC and the requirement from each body demands work experience. But that of AITSL for teacher demands a teaching practise and stuff during undergraduate. I'm just confused. its like this thing favours people that has more than 3years experience in their qualification. Maybe I'm wrong, or as anyone used NYSC experience to claim work experience?? |

AdetonaDami: It all depends on the potential point you are likely to claim regards to age, education and English. You obviously have zero from work experience. To get a successful assessment as a Civil engineer you don't need work experience. You can use your project during MSC and BSC as career episodes and any other project done during your IT which totals 3 episodes required. Right now for Australia PR it's best to target 20point in English to stand a good chance. So first step calculate your potential point and start getting ready for the English test. N.B:- you can also claim points from state nominating your profession. |

fatima04: Wow Thanks for this information.... I've been reading about the assessing body and your info helps concerning the 3 episodes and hopefully I can get through. I did assessment and with 20points from IELTS general test I will be arriving at a total point of 65. So next is the assessment.....I would want to contact you during that assessment especially the form filling so as to do it right if you wouldn't mind tho. Thanks and God bless you |

Boss, the job title on my appointment letter and references was Business Analyst but I successfully assessed as ICT project manager. Based on my personal experience, I'll say the anzco description of the job responsibilities is what is most important in having a positive outcome for the desired occupation and not the job title. Pls is still necessary i write english test if i'm not the principal applicant and my partner does not need any point from me....pls I need answer .. If you are not the principal applicant and your partner does not need you to claim points then you don't need to write English test. I just submitted my hubby's certificate, transcripts and a letter from his school indicating that he was taught in English, ie proof of English proficiency letter. please i am new,and somehow confused over the occupation.I studied b.sc chemistry and did MBA in healthcare management, but for the past 8years i have been working as a sales/brand manager in an electronics marketing company,so which of these should i choose as a nominated occupation?Knowing fully well that chemist is not in 189,190 and 489 sub-classes visa, rather chemistry technician is in 190 and 489 and the last time i work as a chemist was during my NYSC-2008 and a little experience after nysc for 1 year although the company has closed up.but sales marketing manager, marketing research analyst and marketing specialist are in 190,489(s/t) categories. Will my MBA cover me up for these marketing positions?WHICH OCCUPATION SHOULD I CHOOSE;CHEMIST OR CHEMISTRY TECHNICIAN OR MARKETING POSITION BASED ON MY MBA AND SALES EXPERIENCE? Again,my wife is a midwife/registered nurse with 6 years experience although she is currently in 400level studying b.sc nursing.Should she be the principal applicant as she is not serious over migration as i am.Please,my brothers and sisters advise me as i am new here please,ejimjesus,bellong,aussy4life and others, advise me.Thanks 1 Like |
