Should I use my current transcript for masters when applying for a study permit or what do you suggest I do in this area? Other documents are in place except my master's certificate which will be ready in July I guess... GboyegaD: |

Hello house! I want to say that this is one of the best places to acquire information and learn about real life experiences concerning studying abroad. A job well done to all those who have contributed selflessly. May God bless you all. Please, I need help from you guys. Here is my profile: I graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka with a 2.2 in BSc Combined Hons degree (Microbiology/ Biochemistry) looking to further my education in GIS/Geomatics in Canada. Last yr Aug, I applied online for a Canada study permit with hopes to continue my academic journey at Nova Scotia Community College for a course in Adv Dip Marine Geomatics but my application was refused on the grounds that I have limited travel history and my intention to study abroad wasn't convincing. Now, I'm planning to reapply to CIC but with a different school (Fanshawe/Fleming college) this time. NSCC has increased its nonrefundable tuition deposit to 1k CAD from 400 which is isn't reasonable. My question is, for the limited travel history, is it necessary to satisfy the concerns of the VO by making a trip outside the country? What points do I include in my sop and loe to make that go away? Many thanks!

Nice to know. I'm in the same shoes with this fellow. Neither my parents nor I have any landed property to our names. How can one actually convince any VO that we have ties in Nigeria? GboyegaD: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by guzenaira: 9:25am On Mar 02, 2019 |
Chukwuemekatehi: Depending on her status in CDA, nevertheless if she’s sponsoring you or even being a family member doesn’t limit your chances of getting the permit. Some applicants get their visa with a family member residing or working in CDA. Remember, all cases are different in the eyes of the VO. |

vibrant99: You is just a bunch of case. You should want to know that DLI varies, most i.e. MUN requires such letter to satisfy that aspect of IELTS whilst some automatically waive it if the applicant's graduate institution is among the schools recognized by WHED. |

Dhavemax36: You musn't come from the same state of origin with him(uncle). Your boss can be your maternal uncle, while you state in your SOP as well as his letter of sponsorship that he is a younger/elder brother to your mother and also the reason why he is sponsoring you to undertake a foreign education. Documents to show proof of relationship between you and your uncle are namely: Your uncle Int'l Passport Bio data page, Your mom's NPC attestation of birth (showing your uncle and mom once shared the same family name before your mom officially got married to your dad), a family tree diagram demonstrating how your mom and uncle are related from their immediate parent down to your generation (the children). |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Frankrobbn1: 10:23am On Mar 02, 2019 |
Anamekele: The question is simply asking after your travel history, have you travelled outside the shores of your country for over 6 months.? On the account that you've been in Nigeria and haven't travel abroad, the answer is NO. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Frankrobbn1: 10:28am On Mar 02, 2019 |
ALT2: Please what do you mean by business name registration?, a registered business must come with a incorporation certificate from CAC. Can you shade more light on this, so I can be able to advice you properly. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Frankrobbn1: 10:36am On Mar 02, 2019 |
Higherground1: Use your current transcripts for master's and apply for your study permit. Make an effort to state in your SOP that your master's degree certificate will be ready by June/July hence you didn't attach it with your application but have included a copy of your transcripts. You should be fine with that. |

jeneyclub: Lemme give you my itsy-bitsy advise... Change to Pgd/c or MSC. If the diploma is working 5 years ago, sorry the system is as hard as nails now. To the VO, your career is retrogressing (Bsc-Diploma) nonetheless diploma is kinda common in Nigeria (very rampant) you don’t even need to attend university, poly or college of edu to get it here, there are so many small institutes in Nigeria that you can do diploma in less than 4-month self. Now for the travel history, insofar as travel history cannot be the reason for the refusal, don’t ignore it in your next application try and tackle it by saying you love traveling but You haven’t got the opportunity to travel abroad, have traveled locally in Nigeria (mention 6-7 states in Nigeria and explain the purpose of your travel to each of the states). They must-have slammed you with the purpose of Visit and travel history in your refusal letter. Just to let you know if you tackle the purpose of visit even without tackling travel history, it will be waived. PS: YOU DONT NEED TO TRAVEL TO TOPNOTCH COUNTRIES because of your ”travel history” but you stand a better chance if you do. Where you have work to do is the ”purpose of visit” as highlighted in your Gcms. Bless you @raymondrain Please kindly share your profile for further Help from peeps here. The reasons of the refusal is too much to me. Kindly share your profile. I hope you've ordered your Gcms note if you want to reapply Sorry bro, You can also think Australia (as a student you are eligible to apply for PR and there are good paying jobs in Aussie) |

jeneyclub:what I can tell you is rejection based on travel history isn't a stand alone reason. it is usually accompanied with other rejection I.e purpose of visit + travel history. so you don't have to travel to prove that you wont pver stay. I hope this helps. lastly, you need to have a constructive reason on how your program choice will be of benefit to you back in Nigeria. p.s: you can include the fact that there is a high demand for people with that qualification and THAT YOU HAVE DONE YOUR RESEARCH AND NO SCHOOL IN NIGERIA OFFERS THE PROGRAM. 1 Like |

Frankrobbn1: Don't you feel that is getting more complicated? Have you thought about other family members of his planning to visit/relocate in the future? My take, we are Africans and we are families not just by blood relationships. Exploit that and you don't need too many stories. Just my opinion though. 1 Like |

TFLASHOGEE:thank you... This are the docs I submitted: Personal education docs: High school cert and transcript Back cert and transcript CV Passport Admission letter and receipt of confirmation of seat payment. SOP LOE Employment letter Financial docs( sponsor is mother) Bank statement of around 10m 3 Land properties Rent receipts CAC Letter of sponsorship dully signed and notarized Birth certificate Hometies: Personal bank account of 1.3m Siblings birth certificate and passport copy Biggest problem was that I applied from Abu Dhabi which has extremely high rejection rate for foreigners(especially Nigerians). Note: I have travelled to turkey, Singapore and Cyprus before so I don't understand what they mean by travel history. Profile: have a bachelor degree in hospitality management and got admitted to NBCC for 2years diploma in hotel and restaurant management, also paid the 500cad confirmation fees. Is it okay to come back to Nigeria to come apply? According to my fimdings, they couldn't conduct thorough background check on me because am not applying from Nigeria. Please gurus, what's your suggestions? @nuelzs this is my fourth rejection and am so devastated. |
