Bought some chemical at federal ministry of Agriculture today... At very cheap price compared to what they sell at market, the difference between the price is up to 800# per bottle. What I use to buy 1700 was sold to me for 1043#.it is available across the nation, check your locality. Chemicals available are Herbicide, fungicide, insecticide etc. They also sell pumping machine and some other farm implements. If you can't get it in your area I can be of help. 1 Like

AgroMoney:it all depends on how good your management is,technisem catalog says it matures 55 days when transplanted, that will be a total of 85-90 days in hot weather,if it's rainy season it takes longer,I don't know how they managed to cross that variety the average weight of one seed is 20 grams and I am still yet to see any seed company come up with a more bigger and spicy variety. 3 Likes |

When I was reading online this evening I came across this article ....................... "The idea behind companion cropping is to create a mutually beneficial ecosystem and functionally diverse plant community to increase individual plant production," he said. "When we have different crops that fill different functional niches, we find diverse planting can produce more overall and decrease input costs." The study included intercropping peanuts, watermelon, okra, cowpea and hot peppers. Peanuts and cowpeas are legumes, which fix nitrogen from the air and supply it as nitrates to companion plants, Masabni said. Watermelons were chosen as a smother crop to suppress weeds and provide soil shading to conserve water moisture. Okra was chosen for its tall growth form and as a potential pollinator attractor due to its large showy flowers. Hot peppers were chosen as a potential pest barrier. Franco utilized five treatments to test the intercropping system within the same rows, including a row of peanuts and watermelons; peanuts, watermelons and okra; peanuts, watermelon, okra and cowpeas; a row of all five plant species; and a strip intercropping system of peanuts and watermelons consisting of alternating single rows. We found that three to four species consistently yielded higher per-unit land area compared to crops grown alone," Franco said. "We reduced inputs like fertilizers and herbicides. We actually used minimal fertilizer and no herbicides, and the only major input we utilized was irrigation. So we enhanced resource use efficiency by planting the crops together." Masabni said intercropping is an ideal method for small-acreage growers with limited land space. "The results are encouraging for these growers because we proved you can get better yields if you choose the right crop combinations of nitrogen fixing legumes, tall plants and smother crops," he said. "It makes me wonder how they knew to do this, but Native Americans knew exactly what they were doing, and we've proved the concept works." 3 Likes 2 Shares |

I have received calls and complaints from readers and doers of experience shared on this forum. Some commended me ,while some said the hybrid seed that I recommended, which they also bought did not germinate after following what I shared. I have now decided to take up the challenge of raising the seedlings for intending farmers but limited space available, just 10 slots (a slot is 500 seedlings). I sell my previous seedlings for 70# but for this particular project I'm going sell for 30# per seedling . ADDED ADVANTAGE Each participants will collect: 500 healthy, high breed seedlings(avenir f1) 1 litre of insecticide that's good for pepper(worth 2k)free 1 litre of fungicide (worth 6k)free A sachet of copper based fungicide (free) Limited to only 10paticipants only. If you're interested you can reach me on 08060115253 Let's grow together Thanks. 6 Likes 1 Share |

I'm very busy with preparation of land for my seed yam production.. Yes you heard me right I produce seed yam instead of ware yam for consumption. Producing ware yam will make me compete with farmers but producing seed yam,I'm selling to farmers... I will create another trend for seed yam production, it will be very educative..stay tuned. 2 Likes |
