Good day house,
Though a bit new but I have tried reading many posts here. Here is my concern:

I just got admission to study Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology at College of the North Atlantic, Newfoundland. I have B.Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 2008 and 10 years experience practicing Electrical Engineering in industries.

I have read that it is illogical to the VO for a degree holder to opt for a diploma course. And this exactly is what's giving me concern as whether to pay the first semester tuition fee as requested on the acceptance letter or to ignore the admission.

Guru in the house, kindly advise!

Use the webform and choose Kenya Nairobi as your visa office.

You can also use email route but in this case, I would advise you to go through both route.

This link would direct you straight to Where you will choose the visa office

Good luck

@GboyegaD thanks for your response but my take is this--
D admission for fall 2019 is a certificate course while the one for winter 2020 is a masters degree (which is what I want)... The admission for fall 2019 is out already pending visa processing but the one for winter 2020 is yet to come out... In a case the visa goes through for the certificate course and the admission for winter 2020 comes out... My reason for asking...
Kindly advice. Thank you
Gurus please advice

Good Day Everyone, I applied to UBC for fall 2019, am yet to get any feedback from them.
Is there anyone here who applied to UBC and has gotten a feedback?

Seems universities in manitoba province are yet to release admissions to their schools, I also applied to Brandon University Masters in Manitoba Province but yet to get a feedback

That application deadline date is so close to allow you go through visa application process, that must be your concern, but you can start preparing required documents down
Even if I prepare every document before the time, may to September is less than 4 months!
Can they give a visa decision within 4 months?

Though I regret using an agent who resides in Canada
She didn’t give me any information only requested for a few documents and We had to pay her 1.9million for the processing . I finished high school in 2015.
Do I need to fill the forms exactly the same way I filled it in my previous applications?
In my previous application I also stated that I had an apprenticeship training after high school, if I ommut that now will it be a red flag? I await your reponse. Thanks

yeah,he gave a new suggestion for my case,I didn't know we were also meant to have a sponsor in Canada, aside from my original nigerian sponsor.
Cause no one on nairaland talked about it b4

His(@Surulere36) claim holds no authentic hint and completely rubbed in fallacy.

Sponsorship doesn't hold no ties to location, its a two way string i.e. home or abroad. This doesn't have any effect on one's application.

Thank you so much for this detailed reply. i really appreciate it. I am still looking for a sponsor though, and i still have problem downloading the IMM forms. I was advised to go for Paper route, however, i am still open to suggestions.

Paper route would be advised given to the same processing location whether online or paper route
which is presently Kenya. Why go through all the stress for online??

BTW my opinion but the preference is yours!

What were the reasons for refusal and what did you do differently the third time?

Bracha:
Hello,

So sorry for all these refusals and delay. Those denials won't affect your chances of applying for a study permit again. I applied thrice, got denied twice and was given on the third attempt. So don't worry about that. Also, I don't think there are "African VOs". I think they are all Canadians living in African countries.

Good luck.

Bros run for your life!... which one is they want you to have a sponsor in canada wen IRCC deny people on the reason based on not likely to come back cos of family ties in canada...bro..read this thread and apply this stuff yourself all this agents na your money dy more important to them than actually helping you..if u go 3pages back...u see som1 that was denied and the so called agent stole half their refunded tuition fee...don't fall a victim..thats why nobody has experienced or talked about it b4

Respect 042viber12,

Just a chip in to your brilliant advise and contribution, when the refusal letter state's a reason based on "family ties in Canada and home country/country of residence," the VO didn't basically refused such application owning to the family ties in Canada but pointing to an applicants home country/country of residence.

This particular reference always comes clear in the gcms notes as "family ties to home country/country of residence." That's why after tackling such reasons by showing substantial evidence of a compelling home ties to country of residence/birth, then the "family ties in Canada" vanishes irrespective of whether or not an applicant have a tie in Canada.

BTW this is my personal observation!

Please don't complicate your application. Just go the online route and it will list all the documents that you need upload.

In as much rhe online route makes filing application easy in certain ways of document arrangement, the paper routes checklist is sagely advisable for every applicant to put together necessary documentations in filing an application.

BTW Kenya currently processes both online and paper app.

Respect!

Dear Seniors n Gurus,
Pls am new here and I need help. My spouse is applying for MBA admission in canada which an almost certain he will get by God's grace. However there is an issue am preempting, my spouse is currently running his company which he wrote on his cv as working in the company as a staff not the owner.

My fear is how will this affect TRV application? Pls your expert judgement is needed.

It won't affect his application if the necessary documentations can be evidently shown of his employment and other forms of proof/source of funds can be provided, then there won't be any harm.

But it will be of better home ties if he shows he owns the company and his CV can easily be reedited

If you have two different admissions from same school (university of Regina)... One for fall 2019 while one for winter 2020....can I get the visa for the fall 2019 but get to Canada by September and decide to enrol for the winter 2020 admission.. Can I do this?....
Thanks Guru

Irrespective of the date stated in you study permit application on your resumption, and given to the double admissions, prior to securing your TRV you can decide which of the admission intake to go for but if you choose the latter be prepared to have a tangible reason for resuming or extending your resumption date.

If peradventure you secure your TRV for September 2019 intake, there is no harm or irregularities nor illegal or breaking immigration laws but the thing is that if you is thinking to use such medium to work and make some extra bucks, the consequences of such action be regrettable. It would be best to stay back then travel when the resumption time is close if you plan to resume late.

The work permit that comes with your study permit only permits a student to work upon resumption of classes and anything short of this makes you ineligible for PGWP and this means you can't apply/qualify for a PR. So what's the essence of the pleasurable stress of not been able to gain at most, a Canadian/International work experience to sell your future market?

by honest, you mean I should state in my SOP that I am going to study, after which I intend to get a job and work permit?

If you going via the study route, the reason/purpose of traveling to Canada should solely be study nothing other than this, even if the VOs knows that many intends to stay back and work, they just want to read convincing lies.

Hi,
Please what are my chances of getting admission into a master's programme in Canada (UBC or University of New Foundland) with a CGPA of 3.45/5.

Everyone I've asked seems to suggest I won't be able to get MSc direct and that I have to do a PGD first.

Please is it feasible or should I not waste my time embarassed

@esefrancis my Benin sister, its best not to omit any information/details presented in your reapplication. What you filled in the previous forms should stay the same, if there has been slight/"odd" changes in your personal status prior before reapplication, craft a well constructive LOE and explain it intuitively to the VO.

That sum for just processing fees? that would be enough to convince the VO as proof of personal funds in one's bank account.

Please request for your gcms notes and don't be in haste to reapply. Please stay off Agents, you can handle your next application yourself.

BTW if you base in Benin, we could relate further on your reapplication steps while propping yourself up here. You send a PM

Sorry about this. It really touching and that doesn't stop u from trying Canada but I would advice to give them more space bfore trying again. I myself I applied for visiting online, on July 22nd and till date the application still on process. Going to 8 months now but still I never lose hope. The delay is everywhere.
