Bracha: It seems my emphasis is incomprehensible, now let's do a little comparison: Online application 1. Gather relevant documents 2. Scan 3. Compressing stage(which might take several and tedious minutes/hours without loosing its quality esp for first time applicants who might not be IT imbued) 4. Spend funds(if one's in no prossession of a scanner or system, then requires the urgency of a cyber cafe) 5. The merging of documents to fit respective columns 6. Compressing again to get the actual 4MB file size without loosing its original quality 7. Uploading stage which is the easiest 8. Biometrics request after couple of days 9. An applicant have to travel for biometrics if the applicant does not stay in Lagos or Abuja(the cost of transportation also becomes part of the stress to that spent in the cafe) Paper Route 1. Gather relevant documents 2. Travel for submission if an applicant stays outside Lagos or Abuja 3. Do biometrics upon submission 4. Link paper to online The point here am trying to bring out here is: why still want to go through sure stress and process given the development that Kenya is in charge of both online and paper application when an applicant can just go submit to the VAC office directly without incurring additional stress and expenses. It might seem less stressful after the first time though but last last, we own our opinion and choice! |

I've done both and feel online is better and gives you better flexibility of attaching documents JustMellow: 2 Likes |

DBlessedofGod: But there is nothing also wrong if he reedit his CV to suit just a particular preference. Even if the academics and immigration are two different things, its best to stick to a storyline. History never forgets! 1 Like |

Hello famz, Can someone pls help with the list of required documents to process my visa. I'll be using my uncle as my sponsor plus i have 8k cad as funding per annum. What document do i and my sponsors need to submit? I'll be thru with my nysc next Thursday 14th of march, and i believe this is good for the application, as a fresh graduate, i stand to be corrected. Another issue is that my parent are late but i dont want to include it in my sop so that it wont weaken my home ties, plus i have 6 siblings and I'm the first child, i hope this wont be an issue as i wont be submitting my parents birth certificate and why they wont be sponsoring me instead of the sponsor. Thanks in advance for your reply |

I got admission to study Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology at College of the North Atlantic, Newfoundland. I have B.Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 2008 and 10 years experience practicing Electrical Engineering in industries. I have read that it is illogical to the VO for a degree holder to opt for a diploma course. And this exactly is what's giving me concern as whether to pay the first semester tuition fee as requested on the acceptance letter or to ignore the admission. Pls advise! 1 Like |

There are several factors that you haven’t mentioned in your analysis.... 1. International passport If you use the online route, you’d be with your international passport until you’re asked for it (this is advantageous for people who may have the need to use their international passports for one reason or the other 2. Delays If you use the online route, you automatically save yourself some time because you don’t have to experience mail delivery delays... That time it’ll take to send your file from the VAC to Kenya... it could take weeks... JustMellow: 2 Likes |

GboyegaD: This is not always true and no one can say for sure if the number of documents submitted has any effect on processing times or whether it complicates things for applicants. Every application is unique. For example, an applicant that has been delayed and got his/her GCMS note, he/she may want to address issues raised in the GCMS. Such an applicant can choose to go via paper route and then include more documents. I do not think it complicates things. I have also seen first time applicants on this forum via paper route with plenty documents get approval within 5 weeks (Last year, I got passport request within 5 weeks of applying via paper route and I included lot of unnecessary documents). Canada student visa is one i will say is simply grace. If anyone is fortunate to have gotten a student visa, just thank God. There is no one size fits all. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by sillysassysally(f): 9:23pm On Mar 07, 2019 |
See, I think everything depends on the peculiarity of the applicant. Some people may end up submitting certain unrequested documents that could raise questions/suspicions. No one knows us better than we know ourselves. Each one of us knows the strengths and weaknesses of or application. For me, it is financial capacity - given that my tuition is about $50k. Hence it is my responsibility to go the extra mile in addressing it. If someone else has good SOA from a direct relative, that person may not have to really start submitting documents that weren’t asked for. Naijaforeigner: 1 Like |

sillysassysally: You are very correct, that is why each applicant should do what they feel is necessary. |

ALT2: Well, I do not know how you expect a VO to translate that except you include a recent valuation though, I do not think he knows by how much the land has appreciated. That said, is the land in your name? I for one do not find it necessary however, if you think you want to include it, just explain what it means to the VO and why it is important. |

mzjokky16: How does your parents being late weakens your SOP? Remember you have to fill the family information form and please be truthful in your applications as the repercussion might be overwhelming. The value of the education you are about getting can be used as your home tie as it would be an asset to any firm you choose to work for upon return. You can play around that and I think it sure helps a great deal. |

Naijaforeigner: Anyways, like we all would say, it is left to applicants to follow what route gives them the innermost peace. One thing I know from a few friends of mine and which I will consent to is the fact that the online system saves you from including garbage as the visa officer would likely have to go through everything you have submitted for completeness. Even with evidence with some friends that I just met within the last one year. |

Good morning everyone. I got offer letter from a college. I'm planning to submit all required documents this week, my questions are: 1. Should I notorise all my educational certificates and transcript. 2. Should I include my bsc transcript as I applied with MBA. 3. Can I use student copy of transcript to apply for visa or it has to be the normal transcript, considering the fact that school will not send it to me and uploading is needed or can I use statement of result in place of transcript 4. What do I need to notorise in my application. Thanks |
