Considering the bold these are the components that are made in your parent club not in the national team of the SE.

In otherwords prove your quality week in week out in your club and league.

If you are in a lower league and club then you should be outstanding in that club and league. The SE is confirmation of your quality not where you find it.

I agree without any iota of emotive bias and sentiment.

The national team is not a testing or grooming ground. Prove your metle as a senior club player first and wait for the invitation to come fight for a shirt.

I saw an outfield player wearing the number 1 Jersey for Lobi Stars today against Sundowns.

According to the Super Sports commentator the last time a player did it was in 1978 (41yrs ago).

Naija league I hail o.

He's one of Chriskels boys... Chriskels has abandoned him for his new found Ivorian children grin

On a serious note I don't think the boy is off form...His being benched may not be unconnected to the fact that he needs rest..The championship is a 24 team league remember?
Chriskels matter tire me. Morrocco and Ivory coast lack winning mentality! Cameroon, Egypt and Nigeria no matter the team they put out there will always be difficult to beat!

The last time it happened was last month (Wydad V Lobi) grin
All their games in this group had that guy wearing one (Its not like any rule reserves 1 for GK is it?)

Nobody is talking about QPR's Eze no more! Haahhaa, Naija. The boy was benched today. However, another Nigerian was brought on, Shodipo by name.

And Osayi Samuel a midfielder. Komekn abeg could you tell me about Bright Osayi of QPR, is he by any chance Eagles material?

You're the same guy that said Awoniyi was playing for lowley belgium club not long ago.

I noticed that many Nigerian fans like to complain about how bad the team is but then they turn around and tear down anything good they see in team. In your Obagoal post you trashed players that had potential like Samu and Awoniyi. But when I ask you how we can replace him you could barely give me names.
The same way people were campaigning for Atiku, Sowore, Fela, Mughalu etc...to kick Buhari out of Aso Rock people insulted them on this forum. And these are the same guys that will turn around to open their mouth to complain about the economy and fulani herdsman killings. It's a vicious cycle of doing the same things and expecting different results.

grin

I dropped you a Bait and you are damn quick to fall in the Trap. Am I surprised......?! No! Coz it's apparent majority of you here can't engage in Discourse without being emotional.

Guess your Eyes couldn't see - "with proper management and development". The phrase alone has explained what I meant in the last Paragraph that - "I would have said no one".

I picked the 2 based on potential not because they are the best we've got now. If Uzoho, a Rookie, could be our No. 1 Keeper at the World Cup, then it's no Crime giving them chance to shine as well.

From Rufai, Dosu, Shorunmu, Enyeama to Uzoho. From Yekini, Amokachi, Agha-wonder, Obagoal, John Utaka, Yakubu, Uche Brothers to the Bags of Beans we are celebrating as Strikers and Attackers?!

Kindly note that; Understanding is the Key to Commutation. Next time, don't rush, rather pay Attention, understand the Message before jumping on a Bait.

Martins career is finished. We do not know how some of the younger players will turn out.

Iheanacho started very well but he has lost it.

Chuks has started well, hopefully he keeps getting better.

Like someone said, even when we had all these strikers, we won nothing.

Keshi took one of our worst nations cup team to the trophy.

grin

So making Reference to a Nigerian Footballer, perhaps as a Yardstick for younger ones with dying, stagnant Careers to emulate is also a Crime on this Thread?!

Martins was baling with Inter Milan at Iheanacho Age. Playing and banging Goals in the UCL. But No.... His Career is finished, we should not talk about him.

Kinda ashamed you could refer to a weaker Assertion that; what did they achieve with their Balling for the Eagles?! Can you please tell me what Messi has achieved with the Argetine Senior Team?!

So Because Messi has not achieved or won any major Trophy with the Senior National Team, thus he's not one of the GOAT?!

If it's Iheanacho or Chuks Clip, the same comments many of you are reeling out would have been tagged "Hate Speech".

Martins was so hot at Serie A that the legendary Paulo Maldini proclaimed him the toughest striker he's ever played against.

We no longer produce hot strikers like him so it's easy to be tempted to hang on to whatever strikers we see. It's a coping mechanism.

grin

No..... We should not talk about the bolded cos his Career is finished and he achieved nothing spectacular with the Eagles.

And the "hyping" (which u spoke against nd would rather us stay in the "old days" of failure where qualifying for a tournament isn't possible without us using calculators) of Awoniyi isn't based on the potential which some SE has seen?
Baffling that you can be preaching understanding to someone else. U need it more bro. grin grin grin

That's not true. We were ranked 9th on the Fifa ranking sometime around 06-09. We were in the top 20 before 08 Afcon. Berti Vogts was just a clown.
Our 06 team was even better. We still had JJ, better defenders and strikers. We had the luxury of choosing from Ike Uche, Osaze, Yakubu and Martins. Compare that to our current striking options.

Thats true bro

This stuff is not complicated. It's not about the activities, but results.

It's like a cleaner complaining that he earns much less than the COO despite the fact that he comes earlier and leaves later than the rest of the team.

If women want to earn more, they need to bring in more revenue.

In modeling, women earn much more than men, and men do not complain of marginalization because every rational person knows that it's all about the economic value you bring to the table.

Don't rate them with that WC outing only. They have an excellent pedigree at the AFCON especially as they are playing on home soil.

To me they are number 1 favorite

I just dey look that guy yesterday. I been no get the time that was why I didn't respond.

The only player that can attempt to break into that team's starting 11 is Ekong.

If only we had just one player of Martins' quality in the current team. Come to think of it alongside Martin's we also had Yakubu, Utaka, Osaze, Nsofor and Ike Uche who were also highly rated in Europe! Our current strikers are just like child's play

Yeah, that was under Austin Eguavoen. We were 9th because we played no matches for many months during that period. The next time we took our 9th position to the pitch, Ghana disgrace us 4-1for the 1st time in 15years. Junior Agogo(of all players), Frimpong and co dealt with our eagles that day. Will never forget that match. So sad.
They even beat us with 10 men in 2008 AFCON and Agogo scored again

I'll rather remain in these "bad new days" than those "good old days"
