komekn: I agree without any iota of emotive bias and sentiment. The national team is not a testing or grooming ground. Prove your metle as a senior club player first and wait for the invitation to come fight for a shirt. 2 Likes |

I saw an outfield player wearing the number 1 Jersey for Lobi Stars today against Sundowns. According to the Super Sports commentator the last time a player did it was in 1978 (41yrs ago). Naija league I hail o. |

raindodger13: I dropped you a Bait and you are damn quick to fall in the Trap. Am I surprised......?! No! Coz it's apparent majority of you here can't engage in Discourse without being emotional. Guess your Eyes couldn't see - "with proper management and development". The phrase alone has explained what I meant in the last Paragraph that - "I would have said no one". I picked the 2 based on potential not because they are the best we've got now. If Uzoho, a Rookie, could be our No. 1 Keeper at the World Cup, then it's no Crime giving them chance to shine as well. From Rufai, Dosu, Shorunmu, Enyeama to Uzoho. From Yekini, Amokachi, Agha-wonder, Obagoal, John Utaka, Yakubu, Uche Brothers to the Bags of Beans we are celebrating as Strikers and Attackers?! Kindly note that; Understanding is the Key to Commutation. Next time, don't rush, rather pay Attention, understand the Message before jumping on a Bait. |

tbaba1234: So making Reference to a Nigerian Footballer, perhaps as a Yardstick for younger ones with dying, stagnant Careers to emulate is also a Crime on this Thread?! Martins was baling with Inter Milan at Iheanacho Age. Playing and banging Goals in the UCL. But No.... His Career is finished, we should not talk about him. Kinda ashamed you could refer to a weaker Assertion that; what did they achieve with their Balling for the Eagles?! Can you please tell me what Messi has achieved with the Argetine Senior Team?! So Because Messi has not achieved or won any major Trophy with the Senior National Team, thus he's not one of the GOAT?! If it's Iheanacho or Chuks Clip, the same comments many of you are reeling out would have been tagged "Hate Speech". |

joseph1013: No..... We should not talk about the bolded cos his Career is finished and he achieved nothing spectacular with the Eagles. |

Oasis007: And the "hyping" (which u spoke against nd would rather us stay in the "old days" of failure where qualifying for a tournament isn't possible without us using calculators) of Awoniyi isn't based on the potential which some SE has seen? Baffling that you can be preaching understanding to someone else. U need it more bro. 1 Like |

joseph1013: If only we had just one player of Martins' quality in the current team. Come to think of it alongside Martin's we also had Yakubu, Utaka, Osaze, Nsofor and Ike Uche who were also highly rated in Europe! Our current strikers are just like child's play |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Clementoke(m): 5:58am On Mar 10, 2019 |
edi287: Yeah, that was under Austin Eguavoen. We were 9th because we played no matches for many months during that period. The next time we took our 9th position to the pitch, Ghana disgrace us 4-1for the 1st time in 15years. Junior Agogo(of all players), Frimpong and co dealt with our eagles that day. Will never forget that match. So sad. They even beat us with 10 men in 2008 AFCON and Agogo scored again I'll rather remain in these "bad new days" than those "good old days" |
