Humility017: Don't blame Aigbhoun...our inability to qualify for the last u-17 world cup is partially to blame....Also,since there's no reliable method like MRI to reduce age cheating at the u-20 level, there's not much Aigbhoun can do,unless we suggest that he pick players that look u-20 Again,I believe that there are people in the NFF who are responsible for checking some details like birth certificate and international passports of players invited for the u-20 to ascertain how true their age claims are (like it was done for Wasiu Alalade) |

Danielnino00: I just hope the hype is not getting into his head. I saw him dancing in front of the home fans and almost refused to celebrate with his team mates. He needs to stay humble and work harder. He is not there yet. |

bobobooge: As fans,we can only hope that our young talented players out there keep their heads down and keep working hard... about the celebration part, you can't really blame him .. After being dropped to the bench in the last few games and scoring a goal to take them out of d relegation zone, you can imagine the excitement.. |

iSlayer2: I admit he is a good player. But if there is one thing you guys need to remember, here it is below S DOT H (Memorize it ) Meaning..... Slow Down On The Hype. We've seen it all before; Iheanacho, Joel Obi, Obasi etc. He is a gem but he needs to stay cool and humble and you fans should help his case by not blindly over hyping him but by positively criticizing his game and highlighting areas he needs to improve on (e.g his frail ability to defend which keeps him on the bench) If Iwobi had been ovwr hyped and pampered he would have been done with by now. But daily criticism has turned him into a beast. Now I dare say Iwobi is one of the best things to happen to Nigerian football. I hope you understand me. 1 Like |

bobobooge: Hype doesn't interfere with a good player's abilities. If not,ALLLLLLLL the world's greatest players would be nowhere today. Do we, on a thread on Nairaland, hype him more than the Spanish Media (which is international)? I guess by your logic he is doomed. You were too fast in writing him off. That's what I'm after. 1 Like |

iSlayer2: @ the bolded, that depends on the player's background. If you are from a Nigerian background then you should be worried. You need to do a research on why players like Isaac Success chose to party away their abiliies. Or why a player like Iheanacho has refused to work on his bad first touch which he has not gotten right since he came to limelight in 2013. It gets into their heads. The back ground matters. Our press should focus more on constructive critique of our players rather than empty hypes. 1 Like |

Danielnino00: I can assure you that the presumption you make is WRONG. That's not the reason why he us not playing for Liverpool. In reality it's the U23 coaches in agreement with the academy manager. That make the call to say they think he is good enough for the first team. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 10:29am On Mar 11, 2019 |
Danielnino00: I am saying the issue is not primarily work permit but PERFORMANCE. That's to say if he was eligible for a work permit he still would not be playing for Liverpool. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Danielnino00(m): 10:32am On Mar 11, 2019 |
I always knew that Southgate had some dislike for our home grown players but never thought he would stoop so low to this!/ Imagine him saying Awoniyi isnt play for Liverpool because the academy coaches think he isn't good enough! Darkelf, busky007, I'm confused here oo... Here's a quote from one of Liverpool's most reliable news outlet on Awoniyi . Awoniyi joined Liverpool in August 2015 and signed an improved five-year contract last summer. But the Nigerian has not yet been eligible for a UK work permit, a situation that could be further complicated by the implications of Brexit. As a consequence, Awoniyi is still waiting on his first Reds outing and has instead had spells on loan with FSV Frankfurt in Germany and Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, and was at Mouscron last season before returning to the Belgian side in the New Year having struggled to make an impact at Gent during the first half of the campaign. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/schalke-eyeing-taiwo-awoniyi-permanent-15926616 |

komekn: Oga,just say you don't like Awoniyi instead of spewing lies!! Awo has been a Liverpool player for 4 years now! why didn't they terminate his contract since if he wasn't good enough.. You probably don't know that he signed a new contract last year! You still probably don't know that Klopp is in charge of transfers at Liverpool and rarely any player gets a new contract without his knowledge! Awo has played for 4 different clubs on loan since joining Liverpool and has played 96 games with 23 goals and you say he isn't good enough.. Unless you are John Henry or Jurgen Klopp in disguise, you should explain to us how he got a new contract last season if he wasn't good enough |

Danielnino00: Yes I said chucks was struggling and that's it He struggled for about 3/4 games before the Europa league games I told tbaba that some days back Being in the bench and few minutes means struggle for a player that has been playing 90 minutes ,if we see truth make we talk . I stand on my words Any player can struggle No concrete offer sir ,he admited it. Shebi all of una don turn una back on iheanacho ? But once him get back to him self una go being talk I no see you talk when chuks no score nor start some few games o You are an example of anywhere belle face |

It's Samuel chukwueze day today, he is everywhere on this thread, omo the noise is deafening, to me its not hyping just that an average Nigerian loves a dribbler, and we haven't had a fear factor in our super eagles in a long while.. Someone to put the fear of God in opposing defenders... Yes of course, if you put in a good performance, change the direction of a match, gave a good pass for your teams first goal and ultimately score a curler, boy you deserve all the hype men... If we nor hype you wetin we gain... At the same time if your not playing well or to our expectations expect people like "Gustav to give you mumu mumu names like" Kelechi mbappe better than nacho and other bull crap I don't even know how to digest... In all, if your not playing good you'd get the stick here... Chukwueze, iwobi, osihmen, awoniyi, Samuel kalu erm who again, dem plenty... Omo THE FUTURE OF THE SUPER EAGLE IS REALLY GOOD... 1 Like |

Danielnino00:bros I Don stop to dey carry komekn mata 4 my head. The guy is one in a billion African. If not I don't know how to post links ,I would have posted a link about an interview with the u-23 coach ,were the coach said they were more interested in developing players than being top of the league. Definitely if Awoniyi gets work permit, then he will have to go on loan cuz I don't see reason to get his work permit if he is of no importance But how can someone who scored 1goal in 20+apps be preferred to someone who have been banging goals this season ( solanke last season + this season records is worse than Awoniyi this season record ONLY) bro some people with phones can be mad without knowing I am sure of Liverpool coaches sanity but not sure of the guy u are arguing with 3 Likes |

andrew444:I'm more concerned about the goal keeper... To be honest I think that is the only position my fate ain't that really strong... Not taking anything away from our young goalie ooo, but there is a but... I have not been really impressed with akpeyi, I thought after ikeme went away he would seize the chance but he didn't, the home based guy I actually love his confidence but are you telling me that's the best we could do in the whole NPFL... Even if we are not gonna get reliable hands like enyeama, I think we should really do better, better than what we are doing... What about all these ajiboye etc... Where all of them day... I wish we had one goal keeper who we can watch every week... Our designated numero uno...I am yet to see uzoho keep one match for club... I hope he is not even chopping bench self... Attack is jampacked already, I'm just thinking whose gonna be droped for who...from this thread alone I have gotten to know many players, especially strikers.. I don't think there'd be any new faces in the midfield department or I haven't seen or heard nobody to wow me, if there is I'd known already from this thread.. Mikel, Ndidi, Etebo, Ogu may well be the same face.. Who knows. Defense, well I didn't catch any u20 matches, only followed here and from what I deduces, our 2 center backs are really a pairing for the future, I think one got invited already, ozonwafor... The torino guy is having a good season, the fine boy ebuehi has been impressive from his previous outing with the SE, ekong balled recently against juve, balogun is with brighton(though not starting but EPL is always EPL)shehu I don't know much, but I guess he is starting in Cyprus.. Collins, awaziem etc... Only the goalkeeping department dey give me coma?.. |

I think Rohr mean business Rohr Reveals Exactly Why Iheanacho Was Left Out Of Nigeria's Latest Roster Published: March 10, 2019 Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho was overlooked by manager Gernot Rohr when the German announced a 23-man roster for the upcoming international matches against Seychelles and Egypt. The former Bayern Munich defender is sending a message to the Super Eagles stars with limited playing opportunities ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, with Iheanacho among the casualties. Since the start of 2019, the Foxes number eight has accumulated a paltry 56 minutes in the Premier League from a possible 900 minutes, meaning he would have been lacking match fitness coming into the two games. ''Kelechi needs to play with his club. He also needs to take advantage of the international break to show his qualities to his new coach,'' Rohr explained to CAF's official website. ''I give him time but there is danger for the AFCON for those who do not play regularly in their club. The final list for the AFCON is far from being made for anyone.'' The uncapped Paul Onuachu, who plies his trade with FC Midtjylland in the Danish Superliga, has been called up as well as young strikers Victor Osimhen and Henry Onyekuru. 3 Likes |
