Someone should please state the process he/she followed to get an international passport. Really need this What's written in the immigration site is too cumbersome and copious. |

ProYouWebsiteUK: If you are applying for a student visa. I don’t think you should listen to that since you didn’t hear it directly from the embassy. I got my visa one month after I was. Denied the first time. So......it’s your choice 1 Like |

Good evening to you all. please , my sister sent me her proposed interview that I should help guide her through. I sincerely told her I have a backup of geniuses on this issue, I don't want to give one way advice/correction... Please, help Me scrutinize this sirs/mas God bless you!!! kiss How did you know about this skul? I did an extensive research on schools that offered my course of study at the undergraduate level, had a cost of tuition inline with my family budget using association and educational website's like allnurses.com,American nurses association and usnews.com Why USA? The quality of tertiary education in the USA is top notch and I need the best possible education for my undergraduate degree and after study plan.. What will you do with this degree? Looking at the system of health in Nigeria this degree will eqip me adequately in creating a new view and improving the quality of health by innovating the skills and knowledge achieved into the Nigeria health sector, infact the Nigeria government and the Nigeria education institution are my main focus, where I will target and shoot into when I come back to Nigeria because partnering with this two sectors will together create a stronger and healthier Nigeria. Who is sponsoring you? My dad. What does he do? he is a building contractor and he also sales building material and equipment. Why are you going to USA? For my bachelor's degree in nursing at xyz university. Why nursing? I voluntary work for some health organization in Nigeria,I was able to witness at first hand the problems of lack knowledge on how to care, protect and improve children health in rural communities, I want to have in depth knowledge on how to focus on the care of children, families and communities so they may attain, maintain or recover optimal health and quality of life. What your plan after study? I intend to continue with maters if my family can afford it or come back to Nigeria and use the knowledge I have gained during the course of studies to contribute to the health Sector. 1 Like |

ManOfPeace2000: Your problem started on why you chose northeastern over university of arkansas. If Northeastern university didn't offer you any form of funding and you chose it over university of arkansas, then you made a wrong choice cos Northeastern university though ranked higher, the tuition fee is very high and your answer on why you chose it doesn't sound convincing at all if not to go and meet your friend, probably stay with him. Please choose university of arkansas and refire or find a good reason why you chose Northeastern university. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Time2win:so if a school is more expensive than the other I shouldn’t choose the more expensive but better ranked school? Don’t see how that should be a factor at all. Also coupled with the fact that his financial ability wasn’t asked. What I can point out is she obviously has a different position on the ranking of both schools. Maybe Arkansas is ranked better in Journalism than Northeastern because I wonder why she was shaking her head. 1 Like |

ManOfPeace2000: Hi, sorry about this. Don't worry, you should be able to get it the next time. So, I really think your interview experience would have been different if you were (more) confident. The moment the VO thanked you for telling the truth, you should have built on that to shape the whole encounter. As for the reason why you chose an expensive school over a cheap school, no one can really help you answer that. You have to do that yourself. Ask yourself the question and answer truthfully. Overall, what I would advise is that you should be more confident and tell the truth behind the choices you have made to the VO. These VOs are also human, they most likely will 'reward' you for being truthful and confident. Good luck in your next interview. 1 Like |

AkAbiola: The responses seem to be good. However, you should tell the person to be weary of rehearsed answers. It would make more sense for her to flow naturally. I'm of the opinion that the person being interviewed have the power to control the shape/mode of the interview. You might not be able to achieve that by being mechanical. 1 Like |

ManOfPeace2000: Well, there's no need to rush back to the Embassy since schools (Fall Semester) don't start till August. Try and go back around June/July period. You just have to go back to show your determination, tenacity and persistence. If they ask why you were initially refused, just say you weren't given any specific reason. 1 Like |

ManOfPeace2000: I think you did decently well for an 18-year old. Now, I feel your answer to "why this school?" was not great. The VO gave you a second chance to redeem yourself but you didn't really take the opportunity. The VO knows that Northeastern University is miles better than the University of Arkansas but he/she wanted to give you another chance to redeem yourself. Now, go to your school's website and pick up UNIQUE features of your program. There should be something unique about your program that is attractive to you. Internships and experimental (maybe you meant "experiential" programs are offered by almost all US universities. I wouldn't consider those to be strong reasons for you to choose your university. Are there superstar Professors in your faculty that you want their mentorship? Is there something unique about the coursework that aligns more to your future goals? |

Are there superstar Professors in your faculty that you want their mentorship? Is there something unique about the coursework that aligns more to your future goals? Do they have supportive alumni? These are "not very common" reasons you hear on a daily basis, but when you share such insights with a VO, it shows you know your program very well and you know what you want to get out of the program. Next time, don't tell the VO about internships, experiential programs or student-faculty ratio. Those are features shared by most US universities - including visa mills. And next time, when a VO asks you "why school A over school B?", give the same answer you would give for "why this school?" 1 Like |
