Try the unofficial wes Calculator. Input all grades for both bsc and PGD. If it comes out to be above 3.0 then you may qualify.

In this case. You would need WES evaluation. I assure you it wi ne an equivalent of a Bachelor's degree and your GPA will be above 2.5 which will eventually qualify you for a Masters. That is I'd your PGD is of high CGPa

Just relax! I had similar cgpa of 2.05/5.00 then after my wes evaluation, it resulted to 2.70/4.00. And that my cgpa fetched me admission at Morgan State University and Bowie State University for masters degree. (their deadline is April Ist). If you must evaluate, you're strongly advised to use www.wes.org
Going for a second bachelor's is not an option (my advice though). Hey keep moving forward!!!

Nigerians in general perform very well academically, for this reason some people have wrongly suggested that they have a higher IQ than other African countries.
However, academic achievement is not exactly the same as having a higher IQ. Take note that Nigerian are Africans also, so there is nothing different about them that will cause them to perform differently than other Africans. In fact many tribes in Nigeria such as the Fulani people, are also found in other West African countries like Ghana, Cote D’voire, Mali, Burkina-Faso etc.
In my view what account for this higher academic performance is the fact that Nigeria is a big country compared to other African countries, so academic competition is fierce, and competition breeds good performance.
A Bloomberg news article released on October 13, 2015, observed the following situation about blacks who migrated to the USA from sub-Saharan Africa.
The Bloomberg news article says: “Perhaps most surprising is that, by many measures, the most-educated immigrant group in the U.S. isn't East Asians. It’s Africans.
According to Census data, more than 43 percent of African immigrants hold a bachelor’s degree or higher -- slightly more than immigrants from East Asia. Nigerian immigrants are especially educated, with almost two-thirds holding college degrees -- a significantly higher percentage even than Chinese or South Korean immigrants. African immigrants are also very likely to hold advanced degrees, many of which are earned at U.S. universities. By many measures, African immigrants are as far ahead of American whites in the educational achievement as whites are ahead of African-Americans”.
I will conclude by saying that there is some overlap between IQ and SAT tests. According to Nicholas Lemann's book, The Big Test, the SAT did in fact start out as I.Q. test in the 1920s.
Frey and Detterman (2003) analyzed the correlation of SAT scores with intelligence test scores. They found SAT scores to be highly correlated with general mental ability, or g (r=.82 in their sample).
So with such a high correlation between IQ and high SAT/Educational achievement, I will partially agree with you that Nigerians may score higher on IQ test mainly because they are good academically, but not because they are

Hello everyone, does anyone have any good idea to handle a situation like this? The person in question had bachelor's and masters in the UK and returned to Nigeria. Then on trying to return to the UK after NYSC for a Ph.D, he got a denial. The denial was under section 320(7A); which is on the ground of false bank documentation. He was advised that if he applies again,he could be refused and issued a 10-year ban. Now, this time around, he has been admitted to a US school for another PhD, and has made effort to get the right bank documentation. How would the UK refusal affect the new F1 application? Would it affect this at all? Or would the VO consider this a fresh case?

The US embassy and UK embassy are two different embassy. He should be sincere when asked why he was denied by UK embassy if the question comes up. I have seen people banned from the UK that got Visa to US

My Travel Transcript

I left Nigeria (with Qatar airways, 12 pm flight) on Sunday, August 12, 2018 and touched down in O'Hare airport, Chicago on Monday, August 13, 2018 around 2:30pm. The flight from Lagos to Doha, Qatar lasted for 10 hours while the layover was about 8 hours and from Doha to Chicago was 14 hours. The queue at the airport was quite long but the officers were very efficient so I didn't spend so much time on the queue. When it got to my turn to be interviewed, I handed my I-20, declaration form and passport to the CBP officer. My interview with a CBP officer went thus:
CBP: Where are you going to?
Me: I'm going to Eastern Illinois University for my master's program
CBP: How long is the program?
Me: Two years
CBP: (While handing over my documents) Welcome and have a nice stay in the U.S.
Me: Thank you.

The officer stamped my passport and wrote "IN" on my declaration form with a red marker.
After, I claimed my luggage and was directed to the secondary section. I declared my foodstuffs so the officer asked me if they were all dried and processed and I answered in the affirmative. I placed my luggage in a scanner and after the scanning I collected the luggage and left the airport. Some school officials picked us at the airport and dropped us in one of the school's residential apartments where we stayed till Friday, August 17, 2018.

My first week here was hectic with orientation, job interview and trying to adapt to a new country. Students and staff here have been very helpful. I've gotten an apartment and an on-campus job at the library and everything is moving on fine.

To answer your question, they don't have access to the number of schools you applied to except the one that issued i20 to you and you paid sevis fee. But if you lie, they can ask you to provide admission letter of all admitted schools. So best thing is to always say the truth

As long as you have a valid I-20 for your PhD program, you do not need to renew your F1 visa to continue your program. According to SEVIS, "You can stay in the United States on an expired F-1 visa as long as you maintain your student status (i.e. valid I-20). However, if you are returning home or traveling to a country where automatic revalidation does not apply, you must have a valid visa to return to the United States." (https://www.ice.gov/sevis/travel). I had similar questions when I did my PhD too. If however, your PhD is fully funded, you can travel out and renew your visa as the risk of denial is low. However, the risk of denial is still there. I have a Kenyan friend who travelled home and was denied a renewal visa despite being fully funded for her PhD. Hope this helps.
