Research the schools that fits your profile on Google and look at their requirements whether you will need to write some standardized tests like gmat or Gre, Toefl(maybe)...Provide Unofficial transcript, letter of recommendations, just look for answers on google and come back to ask any specific thing you don't understand 'after' your research on google

thank you

I didn’t go for the interview. My first interview with them was yesterday at the consular office here in Canada.

Your post isn't clear enough. Can you post transcript of your interview and the type of visa you applied? All the questions the v.o asked you and the reply you gave

I believe the best you can do is to apply to another school because this particular school won’t offer you an admission except you provide evidence that you have taken this prerequisite courses. I want to believe this courses are not courses you can take here in Nigeria without being enrolled in a university. Just search for another school which has your program and can offer you an admission with the courses you’ve already taken during your undergraduate study.

PLEASE HELP!!!! . I applied to UTHSCSA and I got a mail saying I’m conditionally eligible for the program I applied pending the completion of come listed prerequisites which according to them , they do not offer those courses. Please what should I do in this case ? This couses are lab courses. I don’t know what to do . And UTHSCSA said they can’t grant me an I-20 to come and do the couses prior to the beginning of classes . Somebody help!

hello guys. I plan on getting an MBA at the US but then I have no idea on how to begin

Please share your profile (GPA, work experience, industry of work experience, UG course)
The best place to get MBA advice is GMATclub (gmatclub.com). Other wonderful resources are poetsandquants.com and wallstreetoasis.com.

You will have to have to take a standardized test called GMAT (preferred but more difficult) or GRE. You may also be required to take an English proficiency test called TOEFL but a lot of business schools do not require it since they can measure your English proficency from the verbal section of your GMAT or GRE. However, I will advice you write it to be on the safer side.

Other documents needed are your admissions essays and letters of recommendations. For MBAs, both of these materials are very very important. In fact, I would rate them to be more important than your GPA.

But first, head over to GMATclub and get a solid understanding of MBA programs in the US.

According to ETS (Educational Testing Service), the GRE measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking skills that have been gained over a long period of learning. The GRE scope consists of certain specific algebra, geometry, arithmetic, and vocabulary.

32 is not so much an issue , the main thing is you have to be very prepared when going to visa interview so it not about trying again

If you do go again , go through previous transcript , prepare your own answers, try to sound very intelligent and hope for the best .

Hey Bracelum,

It appears you have a good grasp about US MBA programs and all... So I'd hope you can provide any guidance.

I have an admission to a top 10 MBA program with very good scholarship (say 70% COA). The balance should be sorted with student loans.

My worry is I'd like to travel with my spouse (as we would rather not be apart for that long). What do I need to put in place/do to help ensure we get the F1/F2 visa? What hurdles would you reckon I might face.

Anyone with helpful insights can please also chip in...will appreciate any help/advice.

Hi Dabaniru,

Thank you for the kind words.

Getting an admit to a top 10 US MBA itself is a wonderful achievement, and getting that with financial aid is awesome. Getting your F1/F2 visa will not be an issue because the rejection rate for top business schools is very very low.

I know a lot of folks who attend MBAs with their spouses and kids on F2 visas (a lot of them from Nigeria too). So, I don't think that would be a problem. You might want to tell the VO that staying apart for a long time might not be healthy for your young marriage (I guess your marriage is <5 years).

Just make sure you are articulate in your visa interview - I honestly think it will be a cakewalk for you because getting into a top program alone shows you are genuine and smart student (the US needs people like you).

Overall, the visa will not be a big issue. Relax grin grin grin. Your mind should be on how to get those consulting gigs at MBB, those IB gigs or those PM roles at top tech firms depending on your career goal.

Pls if one is told to provide additional documentation, how long does it take(like an estimate) to get a feedback after submitting the document at collection center.

Hello guys, in a bad situation right now. Basically i’m in Canada right now, have been in Canada since September 2017 studying. I had previously considered going to the Usa for study when i got denied at first for my application to Canada. During that process I considered USA. I paid an agent to help with an admission. To cut the story short, i went for an interview for USA visit visa here in Canada, i was denied, the visa officer kept emphasizing about the school I previously applied to in the USA asking if i paid my agent and why didn’t i go to the school. Was denied based on the section 214(b) guys please what do you think. I feel the agent must have paid for my usa admission using a fradulent card. Please guys your intake.
Sorry for asking, is Canada not a good prospect or why leaving there

Congrats ...Admission is one thing and visa is another. Ensure you go through pass transcript and prepare well especially if you want to go with a spouse. Are you the male or female ?. It might be easier if the male is the student than if the male is the f2. ... vo might feel why will a man go sit without working for 2 years

Anyway it possible and others have been successful. No body can predict so all you can do is prepare well and hope for the best

Good day guys, please, I want to know how true is this information, I went for interview last week Monday but my Visa was denied and I want re-apply now but I was told that I can't reapply until after six months. I was told that it is the new policy of the US.

Thanks in advance.

It is not true you can apply 2days later if it was an F1 visa, I don't know about b1/b2

Guys I cannot find my old passport that expired in 2018. I have a new one though that I have used to visit uk, sa and kenya which I got in 2018 as well. In filling the DS 160 I was asked if I have a missing passport I said yes. It this a red flag. How can I handle this? Anyone been in this situation before?
