Any political party that wants state and national recognition must first show performance 25% at local and ward elections in at least one State. If not they die a natural death through deregistration. It was the late (SAM) Gani Fawehinmi (RIP) that fought for the free for all political party registration back in the days at the Supreme Court. |

There's no need to have more than 5 political parties even. Anyone who can't fit in any can simply delist self from being a member of political party |

All they'll do is simply register again as a different party by 2022. Political parties in Nigeria are nothing but business centres 1 Like |

Long overdue, wasting of time and scarce resources. They only registered them for monetary purposes by stepping down for a popular candidates at the event of elections. That's why rejected votes were too many in 2019 general elections. 1 Like |

They will get deregistered but when general election is around the corner they will re-register again albeit with another name. The circle goes on like that. |

Sluvist: The ballot paper for presidential elections had over 80 party logos represented. Look at this link form INEC: https://www.inecnigeria.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Ballot_paper_sample.jpg Not all fielded candidates for governorship and other elective offices. |

Gratefulhrt03: Freedom of association. Remember it is in our constitution? It will be dangerous in a supposed democracy for a government agency to have the power to regulate free association of citizens. Be careful what you wish for. |

Ismerhill:APGA has more seats than AAC, SDP and LP combined. They have over 12 federal reps, over 25 state reps, 1 Senator and 1 Governor. It has won 5 Governorship elections, came second in Katsina 2011, Nasarawa 2015, Abia 2015 and came third uncountable number of times. It is the third biggest party in Nigeria today and would have been bigger if not for that Drunkard. |

Ismerhill: Like someone mentioned earlier now, APGA has more seats than AAC, SDP and LP combined. They have over 12 federal reps, over 25 state reps, 1 Senator and 1 Governor. It has won 5 Governorship elections, came second in Katsina 2011, Nasarawa 2015, Abia 2015 and came third uncountable number of times. It also won Imo State in 2011 with Okorocha before he decamped. Now tell me, what has AAC, LP and SDP achieved in relation to that. Don't just list names for listing sake. Make your research. Even YPP has more electoral positions than AAC. |

Multi party system is the best. Imagine Awara ( the AAC governorship candidate that is giving Wike sleepless night ) breaking into APC or PDP, that's almost an impossicant. With two party system, we will end up recycling Parents and their children as our leaders. I support Multi party system. |
Re: Only 10 Parties Will Survive Deregistration By INEC – Femi Falana by Pinuc: 10:32am On Mar 18, 2019 |
My take on this is that, after INEC deregister them, they will all come back and register with a new name before the next election, so the best thing to do is, make the registration of Parties very stringent, that will keep pretenders away from registering new parties. We don't need more than 5 parties in Nigeria. |

banio: Awara koh Akara ni. Not only sleepness night na watching cinema night. Where did that name Awara originate from? Do you know that AAC in Rivers state is called "Amaechi Adopted Children"? Your Awara did not make wahala to campaign. Three days before the election Amaechi APC in Rivers to vote AAC. Who knows AAC? Truth told is that Wike won the election by a moon slide. APC lost because of unnecessary power play in Rivers state. Bros let me ask you. Where did Awara find the mouth to ask INEC to declare him governor? Can he win the house of assembly seat in own area? |
