Why does Ogun state has more IGR more than all SW except Lagos? Ogun state is contagious to Lagos...factories and industries are established there as the location is close to seaports and airport for imports and exports...NESTLE FOODS and others are there. I know many industries owned by Igbos on that axis...

In a different view...Why hasn't the IGR in your SW not able to uplift your region compared to the SE region...Can you compare Awka the capital of Anambra state with Abeokuta the capital of Ogun state?

what is in Akwa that is not in Abeokuta? u know what; the point that u guys can't stay in ur region, say a lot, nobody leave fried rice for gari now, stay in ur undeveloped states and stop constituting nuisance all over Nigeria.

The internally generated revenue (IGR) of Lagos state rose by approximately N33 billion from 2015 to 2016, beating 33 states put together.

According to a report by the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), the state recorded an IGR of N301.19 billion, a rise of N32.99 billion in one year.

The total IGR from 33 states of the federation, excluding Delta, Ogun and Rivers states, stood at N299 billion — over a billion less than Lagos IGR.

Delta, Ogun and Rivers raked in N44.89 billion, N56.30 billion and N82.10 billion respectively.

Like his predecessors, Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has at various times committed himself to the generation of IGR in the state.

The NEITI report, which reviewed disbursements from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) for the fourth quarter of 2016, also showed that Lagos received N109 billion in 2016.

The agency lamented low revenue generation across 34 states, citing Lagos and Ogun as the only states generating more than what they get from the central.

I'm impressed that Lagos is leading the pack. At this point we must now start comparing Lagos with cities like; Nairobi, Johannesburg, Cairo, Algiers, Casablanca, Alexandra and co.
I've seen the level of infracstructures in these cities above but I'm sorry to say we don't have same in Lagos. For example, all these cities have uninterrupted power and functional metro lines but certainly not Lagos . Those stirring the wheel of Lagos should tell us where all these monies are going. We deserve better than being compare with Rivers , Kano or Delta

Lols. I like this though, we should commend when there is progress but should never be satisfy with what we're getting

Is Ogun in south east. Why do ondo produce more than Anambra, imo, abia, ebonyi. Only enugu moved little above. I guess ondo is also contagious. Or is oyo also contagious. Which Awka. Travel and see new abeokuta. We have both our old one to new one. I hope you are not talking of Awka I do go to. I do not get freak by your gra pictures, cos if we start, you will be tired. thank you brother... lagos should be talking of massive infrastructural development that can never be matched anywhere. rail tracks, good potable water and sorts.. but we have the people here bashing one another.. while there future Is been mortgage by those they are defending. the state of Lagos been a cosmopolitan should be second to none in whatever aspects like education, health care ,power... good roads devoid of pot holes but we have mismanagement of this commonwealth and some people here are happy.. is the money coming to there pocket?

Lagos is doing all of these things you mentioned but the population is putting so much pressure on everything from roads to housing, schools, refuse collection, health care and everything else.
The migration towards Lagos continues unabated.

Ogbeni, you have no idea about comparative economy and what attracts a business. Why didn't Dangote establish his businesses in Kano or Abuja? You can do better than this...Why are these economic factors not found in your eternal capital Ibadan? Remove UBA, Zenith, Savannah bank building, Access bank, Nestoil towers established by non-Yorubas and tell me what will become of Lagos?

Comparative economy? In that context. Chai! If you meant external economy then you still goofed. What is it in Lekki that is not in PH, Calabar it any other coastal city that influenced Dangote choice and that is due to FG? Non Yorubas banks building? If these banks move today they will be replaced instanta. Who taught una about banking sef?

You are so ignorant. Ask those in Lagos when the capital was moved to Abuja how bad it was. It is Tinubu ingenuity that turned Lagos economy around.

Meanwhile just to educate you ONLY Lagos island was the federal capital.

you expect evey place in Lagos to be developed. there are ajah, lekki, look at the 800 buses ambode bought and some project he's working on. if u have someone who's been to Lagos in the past 6yrz. take him there now, am sure he won't recognized where he was
You mean those places are the only developed place in Lagos with all this IGR?
I classify cities based on some basic criteria
1. Pipe borne water
2. Steady power supply
3. Good roads
4. Good hospitals
5. Clean environment.
6. Traffic

In most of these things, Lagos dey fall hand. I was on a visit and stayed in Gbagada for a month with a friend in December 2016, and knew Lagos is just an overrated shit hole. Poor power, no pipe borne water, dirty environment with clogged gutters, mehn! cool

those slums are occupied by economic refugees from south east.

they are running from poverty in south east and putting pressure on lagos infrastructure.
if they contibute taxes, lagos would be better than new york now. but atlast, what do fanyogo and gala seller have to contribute to lagos?

bring poverty index, you will still see that south east is below the ladder in entire south.
You don't mean it? The south easterners are occupying the slum areas?
That means the south easterners are more than other tribes as Lagos is mainly composed of slums. Lmao!

And all ur rant is on Lagos, remove Lagos and other SW States IGR is two times all ur 5 useless states, the point is Igbo land is a desolate and unprofitable land, nothing happen there.

Lagos is doing well in this IGR thin but what is the rate and the level of infrastructural development?. How the funds generated is used should be transparent.During Alh.Lateef Jakande, era, there was heavy infrastructural development in every Local Government of the State.Mini-Water Works everywhere,Cheap and affordable housing(to even the peasants like tailors, barbers,Carpenters etc,,)low Cost Education for all.The State should have leverage on this legacy, rather you don't even know what you spend, everything is shrouded in Secrecy.
