Red card to the GK
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 4:53pm On Mar 20, 2019
Nwakali wasted the freekick. Hit a 2 man wall.

Counter by Libya and Nigeria's goalkeeper has been red carded for handling outside the box

Nobody ever said here that Libya will be beaten in Tunisia...we were just happy with the caliber of players invited and that they looked younger than the u21 team sef..no cause for alarm....they just need to play together more....and we have more experienced u23s on the line too...Kalu..Onyekuru..Osimhen..et al...relax

Libya was playing as if they were away...why defend with seven men at home?...Hopefully we equalise and they come out...then game go set
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 5:02pm On Mar 20, 2019
Half time.

Our defence is not great and Libya are better organized in defence.

No cause for alarm yer. We just have to make sure, we keep the margin low, if we lose.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon79(m): 5:03pm On Mar 20, 2019
You got a point there sha. It would be a mistake to take any team for granted in this day and age.

But I am still ambivalent because I think we're missing a huge opportunity to test our fringe players before the AFCON. I mean, we can still organize friendly matches test these players but it's really not the same as having them play in a full fledged game.

You know nothing about the strength of the Libyan team. If we use our best to win this first leg convincingly we may not even border the foreign based players for the return leg.

A time is coming when we will have to discuss whether Nwakali is good enough even for this level.

The man has regressed badly.

Common with young Nigerian players who are easily blinded with excess money that they neglect how they got the money
Isaac Success, Iheanacho and so many others come to mind

We can't expect them to gel up miraculously and start winning Games Home and Away. This is their first time of playing together..... So defeat is expected as a Realist though.

Let's wait till the end of the match, but I think the problem with this team is cohension ,many of them are playing together for the first time, they are talented players no doubt but they need to gel together
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon79(m): 5:12pm On Mar 20, 2019
Hopefully, they can negotiate something more reasonable.

From part of the game I saw our boys were not co-ordinated. The Libyans play more as a team. Which is expected as they probably have been together longer than our boys.

I wasn't expecting a lose though but even if we lose I believe they can bounce back in the return leg.

This is just a wake up call to the team handlers. They need to up their game

Hmm. 2 down now. Not a good one so far.

As for the one who said "after all the hype" after just 28 minutes I'm quite sorry for you. There's no rational reason why you should be a fan and still be fantastically cynical about your team.

Libya came with a clear plan, defend in numbers and counter.
