Hi all, pls in the family section post ITA, should I write siblings surname and first names only or include middle names as have seén "first name(s)"....just confused, thanks guys

You can include their middle names. Personally, I did surname . first name . middle name (i.e. as shown on their int'l passports).

I'm very sure i saw a response to this earlier. But then again

1) The steps to follow are on PAGE 1 of this thread.
In your case, with your Masters, your age and maxing out your IELTS scores your CRS score will be 437. With recent trends, this score might be rather low for Express entry.

Now, the provincial nominee program may be another option, i know Ontario and Alberta pick directly from the pool, and your score (437) will be high enough for that. You can read up on these and other provinces as well.

Another option is for you to learn French.

2) No your sister cannot be a dependant. She has to go through the process on her own.

Everything you need is on PAGE 1.

Thanks a million

Good afternoon all,Please,I would like to confirm the exact type of schedule A form I should fill for previous visa refusal to USA.
The schedule A form I saw online(imm5669e) does not have any questions related to visa refusal.
Please, who has experience or knowledge about this?
Thanks for your anticipated reply.

1. You stand a chance even though age is a drawback. But look into TEF or PNP. For the steps to follow, visit page 1
2. No, you sister can't follow you as a dependent. She should apply for herself.
Good luck

Thanks a lot Ifeoma.
This thread is moving so fast I almost missed your response.

Hi there,
So the anti climax of this long almost two years ordeal is ending with a refusal due to incorrect NOC code. I applied with NOC code 0213 - Computer and Information System Manager.

• Develop action plans and procedures for my team performance to meet operational goals and organizational objectives.

• Develop strategic and operational plans for managing, execution and measuring results of the cyber centre.

• Perform research on new business ventures and proactively identifies risks and opportunities for improvement of the business.

• Determine the budget and periodic expenditures of the business centre.

• Occasionally conduct meetings with clients to discuss system specs, performance, needs, costs and timelines.

• Execute contract jobs that involve procurement and supply of stationeries, computers and its peripherals

• Manage project teams of variable skill sets and size dependant on project scope.

• Hire, train and guide store employees in delivering excellent customer service.

• Assign rules and responsibilities to employees for operational effectiveness.

• Monitor and manage store staff/personnel by regularly communicating and conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve operational performance.

• Ensure that the office and environment is maintained according to proper sanitation and cleaning standards thereby making it safe and inviting for customers.

• Assist customers when they have trouble or questions using computer systems and application software

• Perform software installations, system maintenance, backups and networking, troubleshooting on office and clients computers.

• Provide services such as printing, scanning, internet, online registrations, downloading and other computer related operations.

• Ensure that machineries, computers and other equipments are in good working condition.

• Keep accurate records of system performance, logs and inventories of the business centre

• Set Administrative rights on computer systems, program tickets and number of minutes or hours customers use the computer or internet on networked computers.

• Banking and maintaining accounting databases by entering data using computer application software

• Preparing lesson notes for students, training and teaching student/clients on the use of computers and its applications.

• Ensure excellent customer care.

Went to interview in Accra and was told that I choose the wrong NOC.

So I want you guys to help me find the right NOC for someone that own and operate a cybercafe. Its quite heavy on me, I must confess, but I am taking it in like a man. Just incase I can reapply please someone should help me with the right NOC for a Cybercafe Manager/Owner.

5, 6, 7 or more heads are better than 1 or 2.

This is not the testimony I was hoping to drop after a year and 6 months wait, but a lesson for one is a lesson for many. Never too late to do the right thing. smiley

special thanks to Zutlin, Abubuyaya. You guys give me the courage to do this.

It is really sad that your application was refused.

I had difficulties in choosing my NOC. I had to read the NOC handbook and thé NOC tutorial. Based on my "reading" experience and thé fact that having a 100% fit to the lead statement is very important, I think your NOC will be in line with that of Senior Management . Hence, i think it should start with '00' Skill level.
I'm looking at 0013.

I don't agréé with 2282 because i believe it is a subset of what you do. These duties are those that I'm sure your employées do.

You take décisions on thé overall direction of your company activities

Look at the lead statement :

Senior managers in this unit group are usually appointed by a board of directors, to which they report. They work either alone or in conjunction with the board of directors to develop and establish objectives for the company, and to develop or approve policies and programs. They plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate, through middle managers, the operations of their organization in relation to established objectives. They work in establishments throughout the telecommunications, finance, insurance, real estate, and data processing, hosting and related services industries as well as other business service industries or they may own and operate their own business.

Another NOC I'm looking at is NOC 0123.

Managers in this unit group plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of establishments that provide services to business, and ensure the quality of those services and client satisfaction. They work in such fields as management consulting, market research, personnel services, payroll services, advertising services and security services.

But of thé two NOCs, i think 0013 has a lead statement that fits better

Thank you. 2 more questions pls, if you don't mind.

1. We plenty for our family, half brother and sister things. But I only want to put one person's name? Is this advisable? I can't be calling the others to request for their details.

2. My spouse is not coming with me. He is still doing 'gbonku, gbonku' (lol) What reasonable excuse can I state pls?

I understand what you mean. But try to include as many that responds to your clarion call.
In my case I had like 20something siblings but i put way less than that. My criteria was excluding the ones who were citizens of other countries apart from Nigeria and also those who were being shady and didnt give me their data page.
My reason then was that I was in a crunch for time. But know that whomever you don't claim now, you cant claim them later.

Hi there,
So the anti climax of this long almost two years ordeal is ending with a refusal due to incorrect NOC code. I applied with NOC code 0213 - Computer and Information System Manager.

This is what I should have done two years back, but I honestly thought I was on the right course. I am sharing so that it serves as a lesson to others getting into the process. Seek all the advice and counsel you can especially wherever you have doubts, even if it make you look or sound like a slowpoke.

In 2017, I spent more than a month confused about the actual NOC code for me. A first search on google for NOC code for cybercafe manager will pop out 0631 -Restaurant and Food service Managers. This is totally not what we are as cybercafe operators in general. so I spent quite a reasonable amount of time on the net and settled for NOC 0213 which had Computer and other related service manager as a sub in the title group. This seems more appropriate to me for my job title.

With description help from wonderful friends, the following are a basic summary of what I do:

Own and run a cybercafe
offer general computer services such as printing, scanning, typesetting
some software installation
sales of computers and its accessories etc
give basic computer lessons to customers/clients
have 2 employees
also offer computer related services to clients as per contracts to set up their cafe, computer units/rooms and logistics.

Over the years as owner and manager of the cybercafé the following are specific responsibilities and duties performed:

• Develop action plans and procedures for my team performance to meet operational goals and organizational objectives.

• Develop strategic and operational plans for managing, execution and measuring results of the cyber centre.

• Perform research on new business ventures and proactively identifies risks and opportunities for improvement of the business.

• Determine the budget and periodic expenditures of the business centre.

Sure bro amen. I intend landing in Edmonton by God's grace. I feel like it's a good option for me and my family. I hope it turns to reality soonest. What's it like in Edmonton? My childhood friend is in Lethbridge, and he wants us to come there when we get PPR.

Edmonton is a beautiful place, the government is putting so much resource in place to ensure unemployment rate is reduced. Though I learnt Calgary is like Lagos where you have head offices, therefore more IT job, while Edmonton is just like port harcourt.

Activities/Timelines can definitely overlap. In reality there are people that don't do only one thing at a particular time. Eg: Say a person works and goes to school at the same time, you enter those dates are they were. Employment 2012-2014. Education 2012-2014.

The issue with his dates is the Organizational activity. You get a warning when you choose it, letting you know it would not be counted as the rest are. If he/she was unemployed during that time, put it as such and say what he/she was doing during that time.

DaisyEze:

How do you know? He/she needs to try all options to see which works. I had the same issue and until I switched my dates, it was successful.

I told him/her to try and see if it would go through. I’m not forcing my advice on anyone.

Asides that you cannot claim them later, you must keep a copy of the information of all the people you claimed. At a point, you might have to undergo security clearance either for job or position, if there are discrepancies from your immigration form, it can stand as a set back. And they could communicate with them randomly to gather more info about you and if what you claim is the same.

1. Regarding my half siblings, I have to input their birthdays. Trust me when I say my darling papa won't remember. I can not reach out to them cos I'm keeping this application private and most of them are abroad anyways.

2. I have only worked in 1 company and my job description has changed over time. I used one of the job roles where I served for more than 3 yrs as my primary NOC but it's not my current role. However, I'm been asked to upload docs for all the different roles that I've taken up but I have only one reference letter from my employer. The ref. letter states all the different job roles. Can I upload same doc for all? It's a bit confusing.

I learned that at least a 60% correlation between NOC duties and actual job responsibilities is okay as CIC understands that not all duties will accurately match with the reference letter provided.

TRAVEL HISTORY: Never travelled out of Nigeria

DECISION TO TRAVEL:

In August 2017, while at work I was working on my unit’s system when a colleague pleaded to quickly use the computer. I shifted my chair and by the time I would look on the screen, I saw that it was the Nairaland Express Entry Thread. Immediately, I teased her and asked if she was processing the Canada immigration, she replied in the affirmative. Without asking further, she voluntarily enlightened me on the benefits of the scheme. She gave me a summary of all I needed to proceed and also promised to send me IELTS materials which she did.
Few days later, she showed me her Passport Request Letter. When I saw that, I made up my mind to begin the process. I visited the thread (then Part 2) and I asked 1 or 2 questions, I was referred to the almighty page 1.I was able to gather adequate information to get started.
I told my hubby about the process but he showed no interest. He said the scheme was rigorous considering that he had attempted it before. I assured him that all would be well; at least there was no harm in trying. Thankfully, it has turned to us for a testimony (Luke 21:13)

ECA (WES)
My credential evaluation took 6 months (September 2017-March 2018), all thanks to NASU strike. I evaluated my highest qualification (Master’s Degree) only.

IELTS
1st : February 1st 2018 (BC) LRWS -7777
2nd : April 21st 2018 (BC) LRWS 86.56.57.5(Remark came back unchanged)
3rd : May 12th 2018 (MOD) LRWS 7.57.577(Only those who wrote IELTS exam on that day can relate)
4th : September 29th 2018(MOD) LRWS 7.5877
5th : November 1st 2018 (MOD) LRWS: 8.57.577.5

Hmmm! IELTS humbled me in mighty way (sighs) as seen from the above results. Considering that I studied English, I underrated the examination. I was running a professional programme concurrently hence; I devoted my attention to the programme. After the 3rd Attempt, I felt embarrassed with my recurrent ‘failures’, therefore; I decided to learn the exam tricks. For me, using the materials by the Test Provider (MOD) was the simple trick I needed to ace the examination. I subscribed to the 30-day Master’s IELTS course and I followed the principles taught to the letter. During my 4th attempt, I concentrated so much on Reading and I had 8 but had 7.5 in Listening. My hubby encouraged me to register immediately for another one which luckily became my final attempt. By that time, I focused only on Listening which became pretty easy for me few days before the examination. The knowledge of Reading was still fresh in my memory.

Listening: In all my attempts I didn’t underestimate the power of Cambridge IELTS Book 1-13;I did some online tests via ieltsonlinetests.com; I studied the MOD IELTS Masters course and I did the 3 tough practice tests at the end.

Reading: I solved few Academic Reading Tests; did several General Training Tests from Cambridge Books; and also on ieltsonlinetests.com; the MOD 30 Day Master’s course was highly helpful− the tricks I learnt enabled me finish my test within 35 minutes during my 4th attempt. Although my last Reading attempt was tougher.

Speaking: In all my attempts I watched YouTube videos (IELTS JAY,Oxford English and others) and also wrote down ideas based on the cue cards posted on IELTS Liz’ website and shared on different IELTS groups. In all my tries, my task 2 topics were extracted from the cue cards.

Writing:
Naturally, I write well ; however, the quest to score above 7 in my 4th attempt made me conduct an in depth research which got me totally confused. I wrote few letters and essays and forwarded to @glitteringstar2 for review. She proofread them and advised that I focused on other grey areas (Listening especially) as my writing was suitable to earn me the desired score.
I also scanned through MOD materials on Writing. One major trick I learnt was to edit my write-up simultaneously while writing. This really helped me as I had no time to read through my Task 2 during my 5th attempt yet I was confident that the errors would be minimal.
Lest I forget, while writing, I utilised very uncommon linkers and binders. In lieu of ‘firstly’, I used ‘first and foremost’, ‘to begin with’; instead of ‘finally’ I adopted ‘to conclude’ and so on. I used lots of parallel structures and I avoided clichés as much as possible, and I was very careful with my punctuations (all these I learnt in school) ( smiley)

Advice: IELTS is not difficult but it is a trick test. It requires due diligence and care to study all that the test entails. For the first timers, do not rush to register, learn the examination strategies and tricks before enrolling− 75k (BC) or 68k (MOD) is no small money.

MEDICALS: I could not secure a closer date at Qlife; hence; we resorted to using IOM on November 30th. I got their email address from the thread; mailed them and got the date we preferred.
We got to IOM around 6am and we were the first family to be attended to. The Physician that attended to us was very courteous. He chatted with my hubby for about 30 minutes before we left the hospital.

PCC: After medicals, we headed straight to Alagbon for PCC. We intended using ASP Moshood but luckily we met someone whom we knew. He referred us to one Mr Ibrahim (who collected 7k (3.5k each for hubby and I).

POF: My hubby transferred the POF in bits into our joint savings account which we opened in 2015. We invested the funds in 4 Treasury Bills and we ensured that none would mature after our medical expiry date. One of our treasury bills mature in January and we rolled over immediately. I asked on the thread if there was need to inform CIC; @joo2018 responded promptly that there was no need to raise a CSE.

PLACE HOLDERS (PRINCIPAL APPLICANT)

Marriage Certificate: I uploaded my Marriage Certificate only

Passports/Travel Documents : My Nigerian International Passport

Upfront Medicals(2 pages): I uploaded the print out given to me at IOM

Police Character Certificate (PCC): I merged the PCC and the long forms(3 pages altogether)

Education (4 pages): The documents were merged as follow:
ECA,Master’s Degree Certificate, IELTS Test Report Form,1st Degree Certificate(I didn’t evaluate it but was advised to include it)

Legal Name Change Doc(2 pages): I merged my newspaper change of name publication and my marriage certificate.I didn’t swear any affidavit.

Proof of Means of Financial Support (6 pages) : My POF was arranged as follow:
1. Letter of Consent from my hubby
2. Bank Letter in CIC Format
3. The Four Treasury Bills Certificates according to the dates of investments

Digital Photo: I uploaded the required passport specification

Employment Records (11 Pages): The documents were merged in the following order:
1. Letter of Introduction
2. Confirmation of Appointment
3. Promotion Letter
4. Revised Emolument Page
5. Staff Identity Card
6. Six Months Payslips(June-November 2018)

Client Information Placeholder(12 pages): I merged the following documents :
1. General Letter of Explanation(LOE) 2: It contained every detail I needed to clarify in my application
2. My Schedule A(5 Pages- I had an extra sheet( grin)
3. Hubby’s Schedule A(4 pages)
4. USA Visa Refusal Letter (White Paper)

Concerns: There was a funny gender error on my reference letter , I complained to my HR but was told it was insignificant and would not render the letter invalid.
Also, my daughter's birth certificate had more names than necessary as against her International Passport hence I went back to NPC to get a new one. If I had researched properly, a simple LOE would have saved me that extra 3.5k the officials collected.
I specially want to appreciate all those who have directly or indirectly helped me in the course of the (COPR) journey. @Glitteringstar (You’re wonderful and I owe you a treat kiss); @Bimsebony ( kiss kiss) and @Hykin - You are both amazing souls, this story is incomplete without mentioning you. These beautiful people are now my ‘family’. I owe them so much gratitude. @Hykin , I will celebrate your PPR soon.

To @Joo2018, @Elfmannisback now @Ontarioissauga, @McStan18 ,@Newmum0615,@Cochtrane, @MummyJaygirls (the first person I Pmed) , @Kontagious, @iamdatguy, @Happytbaby, @Hephgirl @Datechman, @RamJ @ebonyNaija, @DadR, @ifeoma77 , @Tojued …. I appreciate you all.
To everyone I couldn’t mention their monikers, I apologise. I appreciate everyone on the thread. God bless you all.

Above all, the entire journey is expensive, yet achievable. Do not give up , you can achieve it.

Hi,about this schedule A. Is it something that has to be filled post ITA if you had a visa refusal? My PA had a Usa visa refusal at his first try and got the visa at the second try. We answers yes in the visa refusal part and put the name of the country. When was the schedule A supposed to come in? We have already submitted though.

Hi.

1. Oh okay. Best not to add complications to your application then.
2. Yes, multiple job positions can be written in one letter.

Edmonton is a beautiful place, the government is putting so much resource in place to ensure unemployment rate is reduced. Though I learnt Calgary is like Lagos where you have head offices, therefore more IT job, while Edmonton is just like port harcourt.
Ok na for you to try Calgary o, maybe something will come up there in terms of a good job

It's there. Read 6d. Select 'Yes' and write the details in the text area below that section.

Hi there,
So the anti climax of this long almost two years ordeal is ending with a refusal due to incorrect NOC code. I applied with NOC code 0213 - Computer and Information System Manager.

special thanks to Zutlin, Abubuyaya. You guys give me the courage to do this.

This is really sad and I'm so sorry. Have you considered 0621?

Good Day all, please I will like the house to help me reason this situation.. I applied for Canada student visa before with the help of an agency. Before the application I had OND and almost through with my HND then, but I only use my vocational diploma ( Becos I was going for a higher vocational study) , and didn't include the OND, I didn't mention about my HND too. But the visa was denied.

The agency demands I put proof of work, so I got ref and employment letter from the vocational school cos I was working as a secretary then, but I claimed I was a lecturer (bcoz I want to use it as reason for going to abroad to study is to upgrade on my lecturing job)
Secondly the work iD I present is showing job title as a lecture too) with pay slips but I didn't submit my account then cos I really don't have any salary deposit for my secretary cos it over the counter payment. (I used my brother as sponsor then,

So now, I am planning of going through the express entry root with true information about my job description which falls under Administrative assistant not as a lecture as I claim before. And make use of my OND and HND certificate without the vocational cert I use previously..

Please house advise me on how to present this case, as I think they might still have informations about my previous student visa application..
Note; it wasn't my intention to Lie about my job title , it was all the agency advice..

Please your advice are really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is what I should have done two years back, but I honestly thought I was on the right course. I am sharing so that it serves as a lesson to others getting into the process. Seek all the advice and counsel you can especially wherever you have doubts, even if it make you look or sound like a slowpoke.

wow! I can only imagine how you must feel right now. I believe you can get back up. It is tough but doable. I'm sending you my best wishes from here. embarassed

What if you bear different surname from your step siblings?

Add them with their names when the need arises just present the birth certificates of both if the mother's name tallies it's a smooth sail

It does not tally, my surname begins with "U" while theirs begins with "I"
