DMerciful: Only the VO can really answer this. Your friend needs to provide convincing proof that the funds are available for his studies, this should be detailed in the SOP. My two cents... |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by dedecoder: 7:06pm On Mar 23, 2019 |
Thanks! Well, It's God. I submitted almost the same set of documents as first with JUST the addition of a Letter of Explanation. 7-page SOP; 5-Page LOE, all making 12 pages. I'm intentionally giving the number of pages I wrote to make a point which is: the number of pages is not the first thing to think about while writing visa SOP/LOE but whether you have successfully explained all grey areas or not and whether what you are writing makes sense or not. But then, you don't have to follow my example in your write-up. As an author, I just felt embarrassed to be told "I am not satisfied that you will... Based on the purpose of your visit." So, I spent about two weeks crafting the response. hardeholar1: 2 Likes |

Can you share your timeline with us? docsaj: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Nobody: 7:40pm On Mar 23, 2019 |
sillysassysally: LOE is letter of explanation-letter written to explain/tackle reasons for initial denial... SOP is statement of purpose for first time applicants written to explain who u are, who and who are your sponsor and their relationships with you, why u study so so course, why sos so school, why so so country etc 1 Like |

TRV processing time update 23/03/2019 Congratulations to all those who got their approvals today! We now have a sample of 13 hopefuls. Please if you have applied for a TRV, I would encourage you to share your timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it. This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates. We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate". Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me. 2 Likes

I did not include SOP! I only include two page letter of explanation but every statement therein was backed by evidence that brought it to 42pages. Page 3-42 are financial, assets, credentials, business and family evidences! 042viber12: |

Frankrobbn1: Frankrobbn1, Austacus, Qudkom. Thanks all for your contribution. My situations is such that I am not sure I can claim sponsorship from family since I have been working for over 10 years . About POF, I just recouped my saving and sold some equipment and properties to raise enough funds. And in this case, the funds are fresh in my own and wife's accounts. Do you still think I should just attach the account statements for myself and my wife, then explaining the circumstances? What else can I do? |

Good day folks. Please I need some advice. I gained admission into uni at the age of 15, and my Dad made an affidavit declaring my age to be 17 because he felt they wouldn’t accept me at that age. Unfortunately I was not aware of the gravity of this affidavit. In fact I completely forgot about it and I have been using my real age since I graduated. Now I am in the process of applying for a master’s program. My passport which has a lot of travel history and which I have used to travel to the Uk and US bears my real age. My transcript from my university will bear my “official age” . What do I do. I have not yet applied for my transcript |

DMerciful: Calling an employer for verification is at the discretion of the visa officer and not a set standard. There have been cases where they do so, but for the majority, I would say they do not. I believe they only do this if they are not convinced the business is legitimate or they wish to confirm your duties directly with your employer.. The best option is to inform your HR and give heads up before submitting your application. 1 Like |
