Approval Alert!!!

And that is how I finally get to share my own testimony. It's been the Lord's doing and no doubt, marvelously marvelous in my sight grin

Timeline

Applied December 12 2018 after being refused October 1 last year.
Medical Request: February 7
Medicals Done: February 20
Biometric Validity: March 22
Passport Request: Just Now
School: Centennial College, Toronto
Course: Biotechnology

Reason for first Refusal: Purpose of visit

So, who says college applicants don't get approval? Of course, I have always known that the notion is far from the truth. The difficulty or ease lies on "times and chances" just like with any other application.

Should any college applicant have a query or clarification, I shall be more than willing to supply answer.

How did u tackle the purpose of visit. Did u apply 4 ur GCSM notes

A friend has the funds but it's not from his earnings.
How much verification is done between the visa office and the applicant employer and previous employer ?

Only the VO can really answer this. Your friend needs to provide convincing proof that the funds are available for his studies, this should be detailed in the SOP. My two cents...

Thanks! Well, It's God. I submitted almost the same set of documents as first with JUST the addition of a Letter of Explanation. 7-page SOP; 5-Page LOE, all making 12 pages.

I'm intentionally giving the number of pages I wrote to make a point which is: the number of pages is not the first thing to think about while writing visa SOP/LOE but whether you have successfully explained all grey areas or not and whether what you are writing makes sense or not.

But then, you don't have to follow my example in your write-up. As an author, I just felt embarrassed to be told "I am not satisfied that you will... Based on the purpose of your visit." So, I spent about two weeks crafting the response.

LOE is letter of explanation-letter written to explain/tackle reasons for initial denial... SOP is statement of purpose for first time applicants written to explain who u are, who and who are your sponsor and their relationships with you, why u study so so course, why sos so school, why so so country etc

TRV processing time update 23/03/2019

Congratulations to all those who got their approvals today!

We now have a sample of 13 hopefuls. Please if you have applied for a TRV, I would encourage you to share your timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.

This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.

We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate".

Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me.

I did not include SOP! I only include two page letter of explanation but every statement therein was backed by evidence that brought it to 42pages. Page 3-42 are financial, assets, credentials, business and family evidences!

A bank certificate showing evidence of available balance can't be used for a Canadian Study visa as POF. You're better off showing a history of your Sponsor's 4-6 months bank statements.

Frankrobbn1, Austacus, Qudkom.

Thanks all for your contribution.

My situations is such that I am not sure I can claim sponsorship from family since I have been working for over 10 years . About POF, I just recouped my saving and sold some equipment and properties to raise enough funds. And in this case, the funds are fresh in my own and wife's accounts.
Do you still think I should just attach the account statements for myself and my wife, then explaining the circumstances?

What else can I do?

Job Description

I’m a Network Engineer with Salary less than 500k and I’ve been working since 2012. I’m Business Oriented but have passion to study more. Could have done my Msc. here but distraction and calls will be too much. So my Business is on auto-pilot. Can be managed by my husband which I included in my application.

Reason for Refusal: 1. Purpose of Visit. VO wasn’t sure I will return. I’m married with 2 kids but traveling alone while husband and kids will stay here

2. Personal assets and Financial Status. I beg to disagree on this but willing to learn from everyone here.

I must say I’m not soo good keeping money in the bank. I invest every little penny I have but I was able to fix 5m and annual Rent from Tenants(4m) were what I used as POF. I have requested for gcms note though but before then what could be wrong with my application?
Are they expecting the money to be in the bank for a certain period of time? School resume in april, thinking I can reapply on time but waiting for gcms note before I will reapply. I’ve also been denied visiting visa with family 2yrs ago. Purpose of Visit that we won’t return back to Nigeria. I later got to know it was the period so many families who got US Visa were crossing to Canada declaring asylum. So that application was wrongly timed

Good day folks. Please I need some advice.
I gained admission into uni at the age of 15, and my Dad made an affidavit declaring my age to be 17 because he felt they wouldn’t accept me at that age. Unfortunately I was not aware of the gravity of this affidavit. In fact I completely forgot about it and I have been using my real age since I graduated.

Now I am in the process of applying for a master’s program. My passport which has a lot of travel history and which I have used to travel to the Uk and US bears my real age. My transcript from my university will bear my “official age” . What do I do. I have not yet applied for my transcript

Calling an employer for verification is at the discretion of the visa officer and not a set standard. There have been cases where they do so, but for the majority, I would say they do not. I believe they only do this if they are not convinced the business is legitimate or they wish to confirm your duties directly with your employer..

The best option is to inform your HR and give heads up before submitting your application.
