Crystallss: Congratulations.......... Invite us for UK warming party..... Either works regarding the phone, don't buy a UK used phone, cos it might be blocked in the UK...... Buy an Umidigi A3/A3 Pro from jumia + add pay as you go sim. Upgrade the sim package to contract, when you get a job........ Goodluck....... 4 Likes |

Bourne007: Lost of Section 75 credit card protection worries me with this card and paying fees for oversea spending |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by claremont(m): 2:34pm On Mar 23, 2019 |
Bourne007: Let's say I have this curve card, and I use it to by a 75'' TV which goes bad after a few weeks. I will get a statutory refund if I used a normal credit card due to section 75 protection, the use of curve card means anyone who makes a purchase with it loses this vital protection. Plus, if you look online, you will see a lot of bad reviews about this card. There seems to be a lot of dodgy cards being peddled on here recently. 4 Likes |

justwise: I talked about this a few months ago..... It's a credit card, without a card...... Offers 0% interest on purchases, a good medicine for shopping addictions..... Although stingy with credit limits............ 1 Like |

justwise: They are currently on a massive marketing campaign. I had it 2 years ago when I mistakenly applied for it whilst making a purchase on ebay. You only get a few months interest free before interest kicks in, and the credit limit is miserable, mine was only £1200. There are other decent cards with healthy credit limits (>£20,000) and 24-36 months interest free on purchases e.g Barclaycard, MBNA etc. 2 Likes |

Well, I personally wouldn't even use a normal card to buy a 75" TV. For instance, I recently got a TV with no interest for 18 months. The whole idea of me using curve card is for basic items I can easily categorise my spending on. In your example, if I have to put a cash down on a 75" with a cost of about £3k, it wouldn't be curve card plus there's a limit one can spend. Correct me if I am wrong but last time I checked, I don't think PayPal is protected with section 75 either and we use on a daily basis. claremont: |

claremont: Barclaycard now known as Barclaycard forward gives £1200 and 3months interest free though for 1st CC, though a work mate got £20,000 and 24 months interest free. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Bourne007: Paypal credit card is covered by section 75. If you pay via the normal paypal pathway linked to your bank, section 75 isn't relevant or needed, because you are paying with your own money. |

Lexusgs430:Thanks. I already have a job so I can upgrade immediately right? Another concern is, can I use another Sim when using a contract fone? For example if I decide to visit usa and get a Sim there will it work in the phone? I know these questions are silly o but pls pardon me |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Lexusgs430: 7:26pm On Mar 23, 2019 |
Crystallss: That's why i suggested the Umidigi A3/A3 Pro, it's a dual sim device, If you get a phone through contract, phone would be locked to contract providers network. Don't get a PAYG sim, cheaper to get a sim only deal........ 1 Like |
