The tackle issue is not black and white. You might be making a tackle to atone for your own mistake, but the tackle might also to be to atone for your team mates mistake. Or to send a message as Vinnie Jones and Chopper Harris dem used to do back in the day.

However tackles are definitely inferior to interceptions. With interceptions you have lower risk and greater reward and it suggests greater mental aptitude ( reading the game, anticipation).

Tried to count. But i am not sure it is even that relevant to my original point, which was to introduce defensive excellence to indomie generation.

There is a time and place for tackling in the game, so i am not as down on it as you are. Having said that, there is no doubt in my mind that interception is a superior skill set to tackling.

If you don't read the game properly and anticipate well you won't be great at making interceptions. If you make an interception you stand a minor chance of committing a foul, and you also keep the ball and can initiate a counter. When you make a tackle you are at a higher risk of committing a foul, you may not keep the ball and therefore might not totally avert danger apart from not being able to initiate offence.

If you watch the clip you can see Baresi initiating counter attacks with his interceptions, but his tackles mainly led to his team conceding corner kicks and throw ins etc.
