They are yet to tell the world the final truth. This is just a news briefing from them. If that was what saved the plane, then it is a better story. Thank God there is no story that touch the kidney from that episode

toplinetrtrend:He read it well.If dis type of thing happen in Nigeria now,u lots will abuse Buhari for not having SSCE,de minister of aviation for being a novice in aviation industry,de director general of NCAA n MD FAAN for being a square peg in a round hole and finally abuse the pilot for being a black man from a curse continent known as Africa. Now dat it happens in de land of the whites,u people concurred with de flimsy excuse given by de airline company.May God help us black men with low self-esteem! 2 Likes |

OyinbowithaTan:How come the pilots had no idea that it was a wrong route till they landed? Is this how it is always done? Was there no announcement. Did the pilot think he was supposed to be going to Scotland? Who is to blame really? I'm really in the dark here. |

This is very serious, it could have led to a disaster if the flight computer as erroneously configured was met with aviation fuel limitations during flight. I watched air crash investigation on national geographic some few years back where a similar incident occured in which an experienced pilot was given a flight plan to a destination bearing of 260degrees for a 2hr flight to a city in brazil, mistakenly input plane's heading as 026degrees instead of 260 degrees. At the estimated time of arrival the pilot lost contact with the tower and also lost visual contact with the airport. He became confused and paniky because he found himself in the middle of the thick amazonian jungle not knowing he was almost 1200km off course. The plane eventually ran out of fuel and crashed into the jungle. |

Pacesetter123: You are talking rubbish, oga. You are allowing emotional and psychological imbalance to make you act like a fool. If you read the post well, you would have seen that it was the fault of those who planned/filed the flight. The pilot was given the impression that flight's destination was Scotland. The mistake came from the flight planning office and not from the pilot. Stop allowing stupidity and political blindness to rule your mind. It can destroy you. Go back and read that post again, then ask yourself what is wrong with you |

ThothHermes: Prior to take off pilots program in the airport code. Not sure why they programmed in the wrong code? |

Naijans sef...mix-up was due to incorrect flight plan yet they still blame pilot |
Re: British Airways Flight To Germany Mistakenly Lands In Scotland by manny4life(m): 6:24am On Mar 28, 2019 |
ThothHermes: Do you think a flight path and coordinates is visible like you have traffic signs on the roads? Pilots fly IFR after a certain altitude and unless it's a flight route frequently flown by the same crew which isn't often the case anyway, it's next to impossible to notice the error. The dispatcher informs the crew you're heading to Germany, but goes right ahead to file a flight plan to Scotland, Pilot programs his flight management computers with Scotland information as provided by the dispatcher. Pilot believes he's flying to Germany after all, and doesn't notice the problem until he's probably on final approach. Inasmuch as the pilot is responsible to check over dispatch information and make sure airport codes are correct, mistakes and lack of oversight do happen, the person to really blame is the dispatcher that handed over wrong information to the pilot to program. I can bet that Germany's airport code has the same characters as Scotland, perhaps it was transposed. |

Seriously? So the pilot was looking through his window to navigate the plane abi? When he got to Aberdeen, he saw a Cathedral and thought "this should be the Cathedral in Hamburg let me kuku land at the nearest airport" Cletus77: |
