Some who have delusion in their DNA, have regaled us with tales of how Innoson will use the N8.8b to acquire 50% shares in GTBank.

They fell for Ojukwu....

They were scammed by Kanu.

They asslick someone like FFK who has fvcked their leader's Queen

Frankly, what do you expect from an IQ challenged group?

PS - i don't give a shiit about any bank owned by a Yoruba or a Chinese. I pray GTB shells out the money if guilty, other banks will sit up and not mess with clients

The reason why they are trying so hard to bring down INNOSSON( especially yelobam moozelems) is because he is an Igbo man.

Illiteracy is a big disease. I wonder how people expect GTB to be taken over by Innoson because of 8 billion naira not even dollars. Even bet9ja betting company set their maximum daily pay out at N10 billion naira let alone GTB that has been in banking business before the latter dreamt of betting business. GTB with branches in several African countries and the UK will be taken over by 8 billion naira? This is classic comedy.

My friend, people think illiteracy is an ordinary disease. Until we start seeing it as a plague, we will remain in obscurity.

I am seeing tweets about GTBank going under because of judgment debt of N8.7B. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Take a deep breath and relax. Gtbank is not a "small bank" by any measure. In 2018, their:
PBT - N215B
Equity - N575B
Deposit - N2.3Tr
Assets - N3.3Tr
-----'YO
This gentleman is missing the whole point...
A big cooperation like Gt bank did all it could to mess up a one man business.
The judgement is a victory for all nigerians.
Even if gt has a trillion dollars, we cannot and should not act as PR for their fraud and wickedness.
Innoson had no one but the law. If we all can be taken care of by our justice system nigeria would be great someday.
GT is a total disgrace to big cooperations.

Divide 8billion by the unit share price. That's about the number of shares that money can buy and I doubt it will be significant for even 3% share.

OP is wrong, if gtbank is to pay, they will pay in installment. Though their financial statement look fine. Gtbank is a PLC company if gtbank withdraw 8billion their asset base will fall, they will be unable to make enough profit these year, it is more a less like u withdraw money from your business, your capital falls. And also shareholders/public will react to these, share price will fall and gtbank will lose in the capital market if the trend continue they lose customers confidence too, people start withdrawing their money in the long run they collapse.

Remember Mtn beg for their fine to be paid in installment and it even affect it operation in South Africa.

So get this right, I mean to understand it check gtbank price in stock exchange now and compare it to the price on Monday or Tuesday.

Am sure u have not looked at the shareholders fund on their report. Also take a peek at depositiors funds....none of this is less than N500bn. What is N8bn?

Wish u could see that the judgement was against the account of Nigerian Customs domiciled with GTBank and not against the GTBank itself.
Anyways...half education is better than none. Most people are just throwing sentiments about on this issue...

having observed the Gtbank saga, and my little knowledge of capital base of banks in recent times in Nigeria, 8.8b is still way easy for the bank to pay off, without being taken over. it might however affect their business slightly, but the widespread beliefs by Nigerians that GTBank is closing down is actually a fable... to take over Gtbank, you should be talking about trillions of naira, if.not, go and sleep

Takeover doesn't mean owning the bank as a one man business, it means being drafted as one of the Directors because of the number of shares N8.2 billion is worth.

Investing N8 billion share worth in Nigerian bank is definitely a Director's position.
even at that, is not even up to 5%, when innosson is boasting of 50%.

We can as well say that the reason why your Chukwuma and his ilk (like yourself) are hellbent on bringing down GTBank is because it is a successful bank owned by a Yoruba man.

You can see how foolish tribalism makes one look?

Based on SC judgement, they should and must pay, it's not like they don't have the cash.

They obviously made some terrible and imprudent mistakes somewhere, but they should just suck it up, pay and wipe the rubbish off their books and move on.
