I see a lot of people quoting 75K for IELTS with British Council. I took mine at IDP IELTS MOD for 68K. IDP stands for International Development Program and a co-owner of IELTS and a partner with British Council. You can google it yourself but here’s the website: https://ielts.ng/ to register. MOD also offers tutorial for IELTS, here’s the site http://modeducation.info/. Hope this is helpful 3 Likes 4 Shares |

For people having problem logging into their IRCC GCKey account. Try using another browser (e.g Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge), I couldn't open mine for many days now, I just used Mozilla and it worked. 5 Likes |

You’re right about that. But why would you be hoping for a remark? Lol. The FREE tools that are provided with IDP MOD is sufficient to pass and save money in my opinion. rosepetraa: 6 Likes |

On processing timelines - Part I It has become increasingly clear since last year that IRCC is becoming overwhelmed by the number of express entry applications to be processed. I remember a discussion on earlier thread with @Tojued and others. In the face of overwhelming anecdotal evidence, I took the position that since IRCC maintains the 6 months processing timeline on its website it must still be true. I posited that applications are still being processed on time, maybe we are just not hearing about it. With my own 6-months timeline in sight, I've done further research and I'm re-evaluating my position. If you check the current processing timeline (here), it states 6 months for Express Entry (EE). However, looking at the fine print reveals a different picture. Below the "6 months" caption, on the lower textbox, it states: "We are committed to processing most complete applications within the above time." Under the Question (here): "Why do some application processing times change and others do not?", see this response: "The number of applications we receive for each program can affect processing times................Some posted processing times are a service commitment. Since the commitment applies, these times will not change.". Meaning the notice is a target and not an actual reality. Does it mean that the service standard has not been met before? No. The most recent data online are from April 1, 2017 - March 31, 2018 (here): "Federal Skilled Worker Program (via Express Entry) Our service standard: process electronic applications within 6 months Our target: meet the standard for at least 80% of submitted applications (within the approved annual immigration levels plan) Our performance in 2017-2018: processed 93% of applications within the standard We introduced this service standard in March 2015 Provincial Nominee Program (via Express Entry) Our service standard: process electronic applications within 6 months (doesn’t include the time it takes the province or territory to process) Our target: meet the standard for at least 80% of applications submitted (within the approved annual immigration levels plan) Our performance in 2017-2018: processed 76% of applications within the standard We introduced this service standard in March 2015" The data for April 2018 till date are not available and that is the relevant one for this write-up. The apparent slow down became more noticeable as 2018 drew to a close. The start of any analysis has to be when does processing time start? The answer is(this): "Your processing time starts the day we receive your complete application and ends when we make a decision." The next is how are processing times calculated? The answer here states that there are 2 ways of calculating, projected and historical. Projected: Processing times are measured based on the current number of applications waiting to be processed and how quickly we expect to process 80% of them. This was changed publicly for some PR lines (paper based PNP, etc) in July 2018. I also believe there is an projected timeline for Express Entry that is only available to agents. That is why sometimes when you call, you will to told about an expected day of completion that is longer than your 6 months timeline. It could be 7 months or even 10 months. Historical: Processing times are measured based on how long it took to process 80% of applications in the past. This is what is supposed to be shown on the EE public processing timeline, but as noted earlier, it is the service standard that is shown. To be continued.... 18 Likes |

Edmontonlad: No he/she is being realistic, IELTS has humbled the proud and raised the lowly. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, if your expectations are not met would you rather cough out 45k or 15k? Everyone should weigh options and decide which is better for them anyway 20 Likes 1 Share |
