Thank you very much!

We will end up travelling separately anyways. Someone replied that we need to inform IRCC. To avoid misrepresentation, we will wait till we get to Canada to proceed with the wedding. And live happily ever after. Family members will be alright

Edmontonlad:
Meanwhile, congratulations

I will suggest you tell no one.
You two can actually travel same day, together but when presenting documents, present separately. Move into Canada. Settle down and do a court wedding there in Canada and live happily. As for family members, your man can pay bride price and even do small trad/engagement as the case maybe. Wait, I am blabbing right? grin

You status still has to be consistent at the point of landing.

The CBSA officer interviewing you may ask for your marital status. Will you say yes and be deported immediately or will you answer yes and live in fear for the rest of your life in Canada of being outed? The end result is the same deportation and added revocation of PR status or citizenship.

There was another story of a divorced/widowed lady who got remarried just before traveling. When she was answered the question, she said yes and found herself back in Nigeria.

cc: @Onetwo77

The fear of deportation is the beginning of wisdom. We have waited this long separately. Waiting till we get to Canada won't hurt. Thank you so much for clarifying this for us

Wow. Thank you for the link! If we have to inform IRCC we will just wait till we get to Canada. Considering how long we have had to wait to get to this point.

Thank you

Hello People, Let me tap in from experience of experts here. I just started and upgrade of my evaluation with WES. I completed my Masters degree from NOUN and I am upgrading my BSc evaluation to MSC. How quickly does NOUN respond to transcript requests? Will WES do Transcript validation again from NOUN when they recieve my transcript. I am just concerned as my birthday is in June when I will drop another 5 points. I am hoping that I can be clear before then.

Hi,

My now fiance and I applied separately and we both have our COPR, but yet to land in Canada. We are now considering getting married before we land in Canada. It's just a small wedding. If we do proceed with the wedding, do we need to inform IRCC? How would this affect our COPR? We are trying to avoid having to come back for the wedding lol.

Any suggestions please?
IMO like you said do a small trad wedding here travel together after some months legalize it in court over there in Canada

Please OAU graduates in the house, how much were you charge for transcript excluding courier fees.... They ask us to pay 28k ooo

I used etx.ng last August and I paid 22k for the transcript and courier fee.

A friend processed his just last week through a contact in the school. He paid 15k for the transcript and got the transcript (sealed in an envelope) within three days.

I will advice you do a coded traditional marriage before leaving and get married legally when you are already settled in Canada......Coming back to Nigeria to come and do wedding won't be necessary and of cause it saves cost

Unilag transcript is an online process. You are not even allowed into the record office.

Apply on the site and proceed to pay at thw Bank and go home and wait for 12weeks. Don't forget to include your ECA number.

I used ICES to evaluate my M.Sc.
It's not true. I went to the records office on Tuesday last week. My transcript has been sent after delay since January. Visiting days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pls go there to hasten it.
