"For the children of this age are more shrewd than the children of light in dealing with their own people"

I have never met any, just as so ignorant as you GreatResearcher, that I couldn't learn something from. It's me by the way, that liked the original post and its especially the punchline, deng that was epic

u haven't met what? Gullible people? Who with is common sense would believe a 60yr old man built an ark that contains all creatures intwos? Who, if not gullible would believe that a man using his feet was faster than a chariot?

Well, I know you meant to type almost 600 years old instead of 60 years old man. Anyway, would believe a near 600 years old man whose living and health lifestyle was totally different to the 21st century's. Both physically and spiritually, Noah kept himself pure and/or disciplined himself. Remember it was only him among his generation that shunned the daughters of men.

A man using his feet was faster than a chariot? Yeah, those were extra-ordinary men, back in the day, there were few and far in between men like that then. Men arent made in that way, no more and nowadays like men like Elijah. Hollywood tried reminiscing that event with Forrest Gump movie's "Run Forrest run" scene

Most of the things that happened in the bible dont/cant happen again. Like the sending down of fire, three guys in fire, man in lion's den, no rain for 3yrs, sea divided. Does it mean the god of today isnt the god of those days?

Greater things than happened in the Bible are increasingly happening every day my dear good friend, which planet are you living on? Don't you watch the news, watch and read the internet, catch up on periodical publications?

2. Human skull found in a church

3. Member accused pastor of sleeping with his wife.

You are doing selective seeing, watching the wrong news and watching too much the wrong people making bad and unpalatable news. All you highlighted above are not exclusive to pastors and churches alone

The one that was something close to the bible miracle was later proved to be fake. 'The resurrection of a dead man in SA'. This makes one wonder, is it that the resurrection miracle in d bible was fake or d god of then isnt d god of now?

Did you read in the Bible about organ transplants, huh? Did you read in your Bible about any actual mountain earth moving and/or about Rotherhithe Tunnel, the world's first underground tunnel under a river, huh? Did you read in the Bible about separation of Siamese twins, huh? Did you read in the Bible about aircrafts moving people about, huh? Did you read in the Bible about people like you and I conversing with each other on computers, smartphone and/or laptops, huh? Need I go on? Need I say more, huh? I can but am sensing you're that clever to get the drift

these ones u listed are works of great scientists which most of them dont believe in ur god. Tell me the ones ur god has done or ur men of god

MuttleyLaff: the thread is about a religion prohibiting anything that makes its followers 'reason' use their brains hence making them gullible.

If theists are not gullible and senseless, why would a sensible person being a HIV + walks into a crowd of chumps and one scamer placed his hands on him and told him he's HIV - and he walks home and stop taking his drugs? No common sense to even go to a hospital and verify if he's truly -.

If some like you've just admitted believe in God, then that suits me and is just fine too that at least we have some that do believe in God

1/ Ben Carson, the first neurosurgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins joined at the head
2/ Gerhard Ertl, 2007 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry. He is quoted in an interview to say: "I believe in God. (...) I am a Christian and I try to live as a Christian (...) I read the Bible very often and I try to understand it".
3/ James M. Tour, Chao Professor of Chemistry at Rice University, Texas, quoted to have written: "I build molecules for a living, I can't begin to tell you how difficult that job is. I stand in awe of God because of what he has done through his creation. Only a rookie who knows nothing about science would say science takes away from faith. If you really study science, it will bring you closer to God"
4/ Larry Wall, he created the Perl programming language
5/ Joseph Lister (1827–1912): British surgeon, famous for the Listerine mouthwash and a pioneer of antiseptic surgery.

All knowledge, all positive know how(s) comes from God GreatResearcher.

""Come now, and let us reason together," says Yahweh:
"Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
"
- Isaiah 1:18

GreatResearcher, maybe that religion, prohibits anything that makes its followers reason, but you can see from at least Isaiah 1:18 above that God entertains and welcome cerebral, respectful and healthy dialogues

Well its the kind of world we live in GreatResearcher. The bible in Matthew 24:24 says: "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible."

Islamist are descendants of Abraham but of the bond-woman and this is symbolic of their exclusion in the promise, that covers hitherto Gentiles, like us(me inclusive). This was what Paul was talking of in Romans 9 : 6 - 13

Romans 9:6-13, as in Paul, is talking about, a God choice, talking of God's preference, talking of how God wanted to do and go about the matter of whose lineage to use for the salvation of man. God had promised it will be Abraham through Sarah, that He will give this blessing but they almost scuttled it, with thinking that it is impossible, that Sarah is past her best days to have a child and/or that delay is a denial.

Agreed but it also revealed how Ismael departed from Abraham's linage of promise and you know Ismael is or like a father to Islam right?
They broke off but technically aren't part of the promise ( blessed Israelites ) and need to accept Christ in other graft themselves back into the tree of life which is Christ.

Because it requires a thinking brain!
True worshipers were challenged to use their power of reasoning but there is someone behind the scene that's discouraging humans from making use of their brains.
As for the stories in the Bible, they were documented to help us know
¤How we got here?
¤Why so much suffering?
¤What has been put in place to remedy the situation?and
¤What prospective beneficiaries ought to do?
You're living in a house for sure and you need no one to tell you that before the house came to be there must have been a land owner who eventually became your landlord, architect who drew the plans and other workers like carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers, painters e.t.c
All these you will easily agree because you're seeing other new houses under construction!
Well simply because the earth has been fully constructed and the maker has done as in put all necessary things in place before you exist doesn't invalidates the existence of the builder and maker of earth! Hebrew 3:4
So if you are expecting what was recorded to help you know the past activities of the maker, you are just like your little child who keeps doubting that you're the same person in a picture taken when you were still a toddler! Your child will ever continue to doubt you because you've stopped growing taller, bigger and your face has also stopped changing fast as you related to him/her! Until he/she grows up[if not die in the process] to relate the same thing before his/her DOUBTING child!

Anyone, Muslim or not, inasmuch as such does what Jesus Christ commands will be welcomed with open hands and an embrace into the kingdom. This is Bible, factual and not my words and/or opinion.
