walcolm: I do, but infact I had already packed it up and started using my Umidigi One Max...... The Meat Pie update, saved it from fully entering my gadget bin.... The only issue I had was the connectivity between my galaxy watch and the Umidigi. Samsung did not allow full synching between tizen & android. I was already eyeing ticwatch Pro to use with the Umidigi One Max ........... |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by walcolm(m): 7:51am On Apr 04, 2019 |
of course Samsung can't allow the Samsung watches to fully integrate with any device other than a Samsung device. that will be a very unwise thing to do considering there's a Samsung device for every price point, its hard to make a case for Samsung to leave their watch as a free for all for other hardware manufacturers 1 Like |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by Lexusgs430: 8:07am On Apr 04, 2019 |
walcolm: Umidigi would always be my second choice. From both spectrums of the market sector (top & bottom)..... Buying a ticwatch pro, would solve all synching issues..... |

Lexusgs430: considered ticwatch in 2017 because it was running android wear OS and could be paired with any android device but Samsung won me back when they released Note 7 which went up in flames and later S8/S8+ and i knew that was going to be my next phone so i decided to shell out the higher cost of the Gear S3 since i was going to be on Samsung phones for a good while to come Secondly, the tizen OS has been whipping the wear OS in all wearables categories except being a proprietary Samsung software |

Lexusgs430: Oreo was not so bad...i think the problem with the experience on Samsung devices was more with touchWiz than Oreo...Oreo did well and is still doing ok on other devices |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by Lexusgs430: 8:40am On Apr 05, 2019 |
walcolm: My experience on oreo, was not good at all.... On my Umidigi One Max, its a better experience........ Oreo & Samsung Note 8 = Bad combo....... |

Lexusgs430:and That biased Gsmarena keeps shouting that Samsung doesn't frequently update their devices. Very biased people Their review of the S10 family does not correspond at all to YouTube reviews and people's real life reviews .. Very biased people. 1 Like |

Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by walcolm(m): 1:37pm On Apr 23, 2019 |
Lexusgs430: Fingerprint for log in and transaction authentication stopped working on both ALAT and GTWorld apps since i updated to 9pie I might have to uninstall and reinstall |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by Lexusgs430: 3:49pm On Apr 23, 2019 |

Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by walcolm(m): 11:04pm On Apr 23, 2019 |
Had to Uninstall and reinstall ALAT this afternoon to get biometrics back up....might have to do the same for gtworld |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by Lexusgs430: 11:16pm On Apr 23, 2019 |
walcolm: What's your opinion about ALAT?.... |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by walcolm(m): 9:03am On Apr 24, 2019 |
i think ALAT is a decent attempt by an old and rickety Wema bank to stay relevant and probably attract a younger generation....i'd rather hug a telephone pole than go into a wema bank branch for any transaction so, i was delightfully surprised when i could open and load all KYC docs from my phone and they mailed me a debit card as promised!!!! i have had no problem using the card and the app...of course, its not as full featured as a GTWorld app but it's really decent and i commend them for the attempt |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by Lexusgs430: 9:55am On Apr 24, 2019 |
walcolm: Indeed..... It's a brilliant effort to enforce savings mentality/culture, like a digital under - the - bed piggybank.......... Attracting 10% interest rate on left balances, a very good effort..... When you have spare change in your account and help me ministry comes knocking, just transfer that spare change to ALAT....... |

If you use the Snapdragon version of any Samsung, you'd get updates slower than the Exynos version that goes international. So those reviewers aren't 100% wrong as they mostly use the Snapdragon version meant for the United States. Using the Huawei Mate 10 pro currently. Samsung note 10 with galaxy buds on my radar. I might just get the Snapdragon version of the note 10 when it's out and I'm ready. Exynos is flopping lately. |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by Mozzyb1(m): 10:46am On Apr 27, 2019 |
selfmadeOLX:while am planning to buy exynos for note 10. My note 8 snapdragon gets updates very late. It's annoying. I receive updates months after all the international version had receive |
Re: Samsung Note, Anyone? by selfmadeOLX(m): 3:17pm On Apr 27, 2019 |
Mozzyb1: You can still get the Exynos international version. At least you get dual sim, faster updates and a CPU that can be tweaked. But the Snapdragon on the s10 right now is killing that of the Exynos. Far better CPU and GPU performance Much more better image and video processing And overall, better battery life Snapdragon for the win for me. 1 Like |
