thanks. i would reach out.
pyruvateluv:

Also, I might be wrong, but the long gap between your second attempt and third attempt might have affected the writing too. You can reach out to Johnybravo too, he is good

i'm sorry i don't get you.
you mean
task 1; 150 words(+10/-10)
task 2; 250 words(+10/-10)
all my writings have always been about +20 words and above.
i literally count them at the end, 1 by 1.

let me give you the little advice a good Samaritan gave me " IN YUR WRITING JUST MAKE IT +10 OR -10 WORDS" my wifey and i wrote up to 8 times before this advice came for the 9th one and with backup vigil we scaled through . i pray you scale through it . grin grin grin

This is a very wonderful thread considering what I've learnt so far. However, I observe that age play a vital role towards points accumulation; what's the chance of achieving adequate points for a 45 yr old who fulfils every other conditions?

God has done so much for me and I can not tell it all. Narekele mo.
My first attempt ielts result is out LRWS: 8.5,9,7,8.

Basically I used ieltsonlinetests.com and Cambridge books for listening and reading. Speaking was ielts mentor and Jay E2 language, writing was Jay E2 language for task 1, Ryan and ieltsadvantage for task 2. Thanks @drcynthia for reading and correcting my writing trials.

I must say managing your time is pivotal. I was able to manage my time to read through my writings and make corrections as well as change some words to their synonyms.

I made sure I finished my reading in time and used the extra time to read through the passages line by line where I realised I had picked some wrong answers while skimming and changed them to the correct ones.

In all, God favored me. I also said the prayer of St Joseph of Cupertino though I'm not catholic. May God's name alone be praised.

I'm so elated right now. Waiting for eca to done.

even though everybody has his/her appointed time, no one knows when, take charge!!!!
take your android phone, download google translator or any other french learning app learn french You could start from numbers, days of the week e.t.c i prefer to use google translator, not so accurate. open youtube channels (search for french lessons), book for french lessons, if you have the resources
if only your spouse has written IELTS, source for funds (legitimately oooo) book for the next available test day.
please and please don't leave any stone unturned, time is precious in this endeavour
whatever you do try as much as possible to increase you score.
for those with only Bsc, please register for another course.

las las it will end in praise for all of us

I will recommend CBT for a change, with prayers, you will surely ace it. In CBT, the computer will do the counting for you, the few minutes you used to use for counting can be used for proof-reading. Proof-reading alone in some cases makes the difference between a 6/6.5 and 7/7.5 in writing. If you want to practice for CBT, do as much practice tests as possible in a similar environment (with a computer timing you and counting the words). I aced it after 5 times of trying and I used Liz and writeandimprove.com basically for the last time with CBT. writeandimprove.com will grade you and allow you to track the band your writing is currently in and the progress made.

Please don't give up, it will definitely end in praise.

Please don't be weighed down by the results you are getting, I know it can be frustrating but always know that quitters don't win. Put in more effort on your practice. As for CBT, please try and watch the sample videos and be sure about your typing skills too before you opt for it but generally CBT is fine and easy. We will celebrate your success here.amen
teeielts360:
Thats a viable option.
but i'm the type that spell words correctly when i write them out. Somehow, i know the spelling is wrong once they are handwritten.
i might just prepare and go for that next since all my preparatory sessions(LISTENING, READING) are on a pc.
i always thought CBT was not an option, but now, do i even i have an option?
Thanks alot. I really appreciate.
i would look into that.

Is it 10 words on a line or how does it work.

Can you break it down.

i think i'm above average with typing. typing without a spell checker would be a new experience for me.
i would seriously consider it as it saves time.
amen to the prayers.

Thank you so much Vicky, are you saying they would not acknowledge receipt of my Credential and transcript until they receive my license verification? cos, NMCN is yet to send my license verification to them. Though I've completed the process just for them to send, I was told is going to take 6weeks b4 they will send, that I should start counting from last week.

IELTS first attempt MOD
LRWS : 8.5, 7.0, 6.0, 8.5

It's so painful, I was actually thinking my writing was better than others

So I'm confused about paying for a remark or to start studying for another test cry

250-260 not more than 260. just a hint from someone that marks ielts , he is based in canada tho. just worshiped in my church and a friend to my Pastor so we discussed my predicaments on the outcome of my wifey result. she scored 8,8,8.5,6.5 in writing 6 times . And all he told me to tell her was to reduce the words to 260 max that most markers rule out when its getting to 270 and more. this is just an advice tho, just trying to help. the wey this country is when i become PM for Canada i will allow all Nigerian free entry oo grin grin
