Kingsman01: Nigeria is an english speaking country so why pay 4 months to learn basic english . Did you write TOEFL ?. if no have you thought of writing it inorder to remove that 4 Months english thing on your admission . Toefl cost will be way cheaper than tution to learn english Also an interesting switch Pol Science to MPH ..... 1 Like |

Johnolukolade: I see. The school is National University, San Diego. So what’s your take on the whole thing? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Kingsman01: 5:33pm On Apr 05, 2019 |
LagosismyHome: I wrote the TOEFL but underscored. Honestly it was a battle between reading and work. About the switch, Yes it’s indeed a rare one. Please what’s your take on the whole thing? |

Kingsman01: Although I can relate the MPH to my undergraduate degree and work experience. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Kingsman01: 5:43pm On Apr 05, 2019 |
AAmide2204: You can use your 1-20 for Interview as many times as you can before the start date stated on it. Just prepare adequately, Nairaland is a very useful tool. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Johnolukolade(m): 5:49pm On Apr 05, 2019 |
Kingsman01:Overall, I see you at a disadvantage but nothing is impossible: The English class and the switch to MPH from Political Science. To some degree, I am of the belief that the VO might ask you during the interview if you're a MD or a healthcare worker. Since you've scheduled your visa appointment, just prepare enough and be able to defend why you're taking the switch. Also, what that school has to offer. Best!! |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Johnolukolade(m): 5:53pm On Apr 05, 2019 |
AAmide2204: Just pay for another visa appointment. The SEVIS fee is valid for a year. |

Kingsman01: When it comes to career choice i dont comment ,,, I love people to do what they really want to do . If you are passionate about a field then chase your dreams . So that switch is possible, you just need to be explain yourself well when asked My main concern is your school sounds like one chance ......... going to the embassy with that school and then conditional offer... your "work " is harder to be able to convince the VO 3 Likes |

sillysassysally: Some context to this guy, he is the whistleblower who alleged Stanford was been biased in handling of financial aid Maybe that explains why recruiters are avoiding him https://poetsandquants.com/2017/11/30/stanford-gsb-misled-students-on-financial-aid/ 1 Like |

Kingsman01: Don't waste your time on this school. 1. Created in 1971, n have graduated a total of 150k students till date. It means they graduate an average of 3500 students per year between 1975 to 2018. Some school's departments hv more than that figure (not entire school o). 2. On Wikipedia, they said the school is an ADULT SCHOOL. 3. Classes are only attended in the last 4 weeks of a semester n they classes are held at NIGHT. 4. School has 12 campuses. They just rent any available 2 bedroom flat n open a new branch. 5. I can also bet your MPH is not accredited. Don't apply to this one except you have a very potent juju 2 Likes |

AgreatMan: The school is not as bad as you portray. The only thing there is that it is designed for adults. So a youth should not go there. |

jamanuka: Damn! Thank you for this insight. This is very serious and through this act, he may find it very hard to get job referrals from the Stanford GSB alum body. Once you go against a school with such connections, they won't be willing to offer assistance. And once you remove that connections, you have removed almost 80% of the worth of that degree. I heard of a similar case from one of the top 10 bschools but this one was almost on the verge of getting two offers from two top investment banks. He had a problem with the school and when they knew about his recruiting process, they called and gave bad reviews for him. They went further to inform other Wall Street banks and he has not been able to get a job across all banks on the Street - he ended up in an FP&A role in tech. There was another woman at Apple that got her job just by a simple recommendation. She had her MBA at Harvard Business School and applied for a senior role at one of the big tech firms. Her hiring manager was an HBS alum and once he saw that she was from his alma mata, he concluded that he would hire her. However, he contacted her ex-Professor to ask about the lady and the Professor gave her good reviews. He recruited her immediately and she went on to become one of the most successful tech leaders in Silicon Valley. Moral of the story: Recommendations matter a lot. Once I saw this, I knew it will play a major role in his predicament. 2 Likes |

LagosismyHome: Hahahaha Yeah, Wall Street bankers are very very close. Information spread like wildfire across the Street because they know themselves a lot (college buddies, finance club members, friends of friends etc). Feel free to ask current bankers if you like. |

Hello Nairaland Family, I have a huge passion in studying in the U.S but financially I'm not okay and it's driving me crazy, I have make researches day and night if there are opportunities or possibly loan i could get and payback. I'm not lazy i would pay back in time but none gave without a cosigner. The biggest problem I'm having right now is that, It's only me that have interest in this my parent doesn't seems to care about my passion towards this because they believe they don't have the millions and not ready to support my passion I'm set to take the SAT I've been studying for the exam for the past 4months now but haven't seen any opportunity to register due to financial incapability... Pls can anyone generous register me for the SAT...I know I might not have anything to reward the person but the God of Favour will favour the person in returns.... I strongly believe, I'll pass the exam with a great grade and qualify for scholarship... @Fairheart @GboyegaD @Teslim @lagosismyhome @Time2win @Bracelum @OluDare01 @thewholethreadviewers |
