I no fit siddon dey deceive myself say hope dey, because as it stands, the future is bleak and Kelechi is the only one that can shine torch in this darkness. So, if he has to stumble, fall, get knocked over, for him to on that torch, make e stumble. Giving him a spot on the AFCON team will be encouraging laziness, and a sore lack of ambition. Icon4s: 1. Still can't trap the ball properly till now as a professional footballer. Which is elementary. 2.Poor skill set. 3. Avoids his right foot on the ball as if it's plagued. He even scored a goal raising his right foot up in order to use the left foot. |

zoboizee: Well, you just summed it up. People will argue Iheanacho has regressed. But I will say he stagnated. He was never at the level people placed him. Some believe he has stopped working hard. But I don't think so. In Football development there is what is called a plateau. A player develops and gets to a level and remains at that level for long. That is the plateau. And that is where the talent of such Player can raise him to. And after that plateau his performance starts declining. Iheanacho may just have hit his plateau early. That is just it. |

Icon4s:if he pushed himself in front, maybe he would get decent game time. Puel helped his life, and yet, he allowed hinself retrogress so much he was out of matchday squads. Three different coaches can't just dislike a player if he was really good 1 Like 1 Share |

Earthquake2:By taking Pks?? How many chances has he created? You are aware that unlike Mane, he is the focal point of his team? How many Pks have Mane won that he didn't take too? Zaha is great player but not elite. It's not like he'll go to Spurs/City/Liverpool/Manure and become the focal point. |

Even the Bible say God dey discipline Him children well well. You discipline who you love. You can’t pet someone to stardom. If he is going to rise above this, he has go through it and be determined fight back. by calling a spade a spade that na discipline. Hyping players can’t help ‘em. safarigirl: 2 Likes |

Icon4s: There is little to nothing hardwork and perseverance can do in this case. As I earlier pointed out, the conservative system was telling on Vardy and he has found his mojo under Rodgers. A player can get quality time if the competition is not too steep. In this case, Vardy is a big name for Leicester City. If not the biggest and with a perfect fit in Rodgers system, Nacho can not be crucified for game time. |

edi287: He is playing on the wings like Mane so no point about focal point The fact that he has 10 pks + 8 goals in a Crystal Palace side means that he is working harder and a bigger goal threat than Mane 1 Like |

Leicester City is a far improved team. Rodgers is getting them up to speed fast. This shows the players are getting better. However, when a player is on the bench, a lot of people misunderstand it as the player is not improving. However, Nacho is training with the team and a mountain load of work is going on in the Leicester City camp and it would be close to impossible that Nacho is not working hard to get up to speed with the team. Nacho is at a fantastic place now under the tutelage of a man who knows his way around a football pitch. He just needs to stay focus and keep listening. As long as he works hard, the reward will come. 2 Likes |

do4luv14: Iheanacho should not dear move. Even if Rodgers brings in another striker he favours, Nacho should keep his head down and soak as much knowledge as he can. At least he should spend a year with Rodgers. It is very hard for players to get this kind of opportunity. When the chances comes for Nacho to play, he will be playing in an offensive system that suits and will bring out his quality. 1 Like |

Icon4s: Totally disagree. Give Iheanacho a run of games in an offensive system and he will deliver. What just happened is that the run in offensive systems stopped. When he played in such systems, he flourished for years. Look at how Vardy lost his bite under Shakespeare and Puel. Now look at him under Rodgers. Will you say Vardy hit a plateau and he is out of the plateau? 2 Likes 1 Share |

“From what I’ve seen in training and when I’ve spoken to him, he has shown a wonderful appetite and enthusiasm to get better. “We have a culture where we want to improve players and make them better and he’s responded very well to that.”... Brendan Rodgers. Contrary to the lazy comments, Rodgers assessment shows Iheanacho is hungry to improve. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Oasis007: Simi Ajayi cannot in his life time replace and or be compared to Mikel in any way shape or form. When you say performances week in week out. Performance must be taken in context. What is the nature of those performances. What is the quality he brings if you can even call it quality. Rotherham is in the relegation zone this the quintessential kick and rush English team. Characterised by the what we call "Police game" that's why Ajayi is in the team. Rotherham is what BascoVanVeli would describe as agricultural engineers. Unfortunately that's not the kind of football we play in the SE. And that essentially Ajayi type of football. So I'm quite dissapointed that you who should know better are trying to fit a square peg in round hole. |

How time flies! Can't believe that the same set of people who stood vehemently against the idea of Nacho been dropped from the national team immediately after the world cup are now in support of the motion. I remember them calling us haters(still don't know who brought that word to this thread- one of the reasons I lost interest in commenting). But I believe that those who want him out them were his true supporters. I wanted him out so he could buckle up in his club and earn his place in the national team before Afcon 19. Making it now looks like a mirage. I hope he discover his old self. S. MOSES, CHUKWUEZE, HENRY, S. KALU I'll pick Simon Moses ahead of Samu, Henry and S. Kalu. I don't know how we forget things quickly. Is it not the same Simon that was instrumental to our World Cup Qualification? Oh. His pairing with V. Moses on the flanks was beauty to watch. It was painful seeing him missing out at the Mundial. His wealth of experience and understanding of African football will come to play at Afcon. So why drop him! Of a truth, Samu has potential and that is it for now - POTENTIAL. I'll rather have him drafted to the U-20 world cup. He can continue his development there. He needs it more than anyother things Note: He hasn't even reach Nacho's first professional year Stat(14goals and 8 assist or so in lesser time) . Still waiting for end of season before I pass my judgement on the lad. 4 Likes 1 Share |

It appears the the Chelsea boy Adrian Akande made the under 17 final list. The bournemouth keeper, Joseph Oluwabusola too. Lateef Omidiji was dropped, it seems. |

AIG07: I do not want Iheanacho in the AFCON squad because I am not a fan of Rohr’s system and I do not think Rohr has what it takes to keep on improving Nacho. Nacho is better off without the AFCON distraction focusing on improving his game and soaking information from Rodgers. Thus training in a more offensive system. 1 Like |
