I am less concern about that love-peddler called JANE. As long as my sweet pastor ends up with ADEMIDE... More update please.
Re: PASTORZONED: A Story By Toyin Taiwo by rachealfst(f): 4:45pm On Apr 06, 2019
Jane went into the Pastor’s tent to help him clean up his tent. “She announced her presence and she was told to come in. “Pastor, I came to help you clean up your tent” she said.
“I’ve done that already. Thanks” he replied her.
“Pastor you shouldn’t be doing that when your members are here for you”
“Thanks, I’m use to it, I clean my room by myself”
“Really!” she said and was already fantasizing about his bedroom.
A lady voice interrupted her fantasy.
“Good morning Pastor” Pastor David recognized the voice immediately and asked her to enter and she did.
“Good morning Ademide” Jane was shocked when he heard him calling her just by her name without adding ‘sister'
“What happened to the sister Ademide he called her when they were in church the previous day” Jane thought.
“I brought yesterday’s report” she said.
“You can leave Sister Jane, thanks once again for the offer”
“You can call me anytime you need me Pastor” she said, looking at Ademide strangely and left unhappy.
“Here” she said and handed the report to him. He collected the report from her but didn’t take his eyes off her. It’s just 5:30am and her eyes were sparkling, her face fresh and smooth. She was still in her night dress that covered her body well, her hair was also neatly covered in her hair net. For some split seconds, he admired her.
“What a beauty!” he said unconsciously but inaudibly.
“What a what?” Thankfully Ademide did not hear the beauty part.
“Nothing. Let me go through the report” He said.
“Ok. You can give me the report later in the morning when you’re through”
“Reading a report won’t take eternity, so where are you rushing to?”
“I have work to do Pastor. And more so you can’t expect me to stay in this tent with you” She gestured.
“What are you really implying?”
“Nothing”
“Nothing, are you saying I’ll take …..
“No….. that’s not what I mean” she replied sharply.
“You can leave” he said firmly with a straight face.
“Pastor I didn’t mean….
“No need to explain yourself. I just get to know why you always avoid me, so you thought I made you work for me to take advantage of you?”
“Jesus! Why are you twisting my words?”
“You even trusted him enough to be around him”
“You mean Wole?”
“Sister Ademide! Please leave and I mean now”
She knew he wasn’t ready to listen to anything she has to say, so she turned her back to leave then he spoke.
“You are free to drop your resignation letter when we return home”
She didn’t say anything she just left the tent.
Some minutes later, there was a loud noise, someone screaming in their lodge, they all rushed out, a man was outside rolling on the floor. They even thought the man was possessed. When they prayed for, he calmed down. Pastor David interviewed him, and realized the man was the head chief priest of the Ilati village.
He told them he wants to make a confession. Pastor David told him to go ahead with whatever he has to say or confess.
“Last night when all of you are in your tent sleeping, I came to cast a spell on you people. We are not happy that you brought salvation into our village and the villagers have started giving their lives to your Jesus. How can we the chief priests eat when you’ve shown them the way. Because we heard some villagers have started receiving healings from you. The spell we casted on you was for you all to die in your sleep then the next day we would gather your corpses and give you a mass burial but to my surprise I left my house around 6am to check the tent and I saw everyone of you awake” he confessed in Yoruba.
Someone among the brethren shouted praise the Lord and everyone shouted halleluyah including the villagers that were passing by but stopped to see what was going on with their Chief Priest. Pastor David ask him what he wants to do next and he said no one ever escape death with that kind of spell and for that reason he believed there’s a God that is bigger than the idol they worship in their village. So he made a decision right there to give his light to Christ. Everyone screamed for joy as he was prayed for and led to Christ.
By 8am they all resumed to work, no breakfast as everyone one was fasting. The villagers troop in more and more and they were been attended to. That night was scheduled for a powerful crusade and all the villagers were invited.
Some of the Evangelism group went out to evangelize to some people in the village. Ademide went with a brother but after an hour the brother decided to go back to the lodge to rest a bit but Ademide said she wasn’t tired yet that the brother should go ahead.
So she went from house to house. She got to an elderly woman’s house and she preached to her. The woman gave her a warm welcome and listened to her with rapt attention. Ademide was happy. She told the woman about the crusade and she woman promised to come for the crusade. She also talked to her about Jesus but the woman said she will think about it. The woman entertained her with oranges but she told her not worry that she should keep her oranges. The woman insisted so she accepted it thanked her. She was about to keep the oranges inside her bag when the woman challenged her.
“You said you care me and that is why you want to accept your Jesus abi?” She asked.
“Yes ma”
“But I gave you oranges and you want to throw it away” She was right Ademide had the mind to throw it away even though she was actually fasting.
“Its not like that ma, it’s just that I can’t take anything for now”
“If you really care about me like you said then take the oranges here in my presence to prove it” She said.
Ademide felt if she refused her demands the woman might be discouraged and disappointed. And more so if drinking oranges will make the woman accept Jesus, then it’s better for her to break her fast. So Ademide drank the oranges then left.
On her way back to her lodge she met an old man, very old. She greeted the old man and walked pass him but the old man called her back.
“You are from the city and you still greet an elderly person with respect!” He said in Yoruba.
“Baba, we in the city are also thought to respect the elderly ones” she replied.
“Good, then I have a small gift for you” he said and brought out just one banana and gave it to her. She just smiled, collected the banana and thanked the Baba. She kept the banana in her bag and left. On her way, she realized she wasn’t feeling well. Her eyes were blurry, she couldn’t stand straight to walk and before she could figure out what was happening to her body system, she was already down, she fell flat on the ground. Some villagers saw her and recognized her as one the visitors who came to their village so they hurriedly carried her to their lodge.
When they got to the lodge, there was commotion everywhere. Some are already crying most especially her sister and mother. She couldn’t talk. The prayer warriors we’re already praying. Pastor David was not around he went to pay the Head of the chief priests who gave his life to Christ that morning a visit. They rushed to call him that Ademide had an attack. He left immediately and the Chief Priest also followed him.
All the prayer warrior were already sweating. He didn’t believe the person who he had an issue with in the morning was lying on the floor lifeless. He knew Ademide won’t die because he remembered what God told him about her. God said through her many people we give their lives to Christ.
He carried her in his arms and for the first time in his life he was clueless. Then the chief priest took a good look at her.
“Pastor, she was poisoned” everyone exclaimed. “Poisoned!”
“And this kind of poison has only one antidote”
“What’s the antidote” Pastor David asked curiously.
“Banana!”
“Banana! Then let’s someone get me banana in the village”
All the villagers moved backwards. Pastor David and his people were surprised at their withdrawal, did they all plan this?
“What’s going on here. I said you should get me bananas” Pastor David repeated.. The evangelism members too were asking the villagers where they could get banana but no one responded.
“Pastor we don’t plant banana in this village. We don’t eat it, we don’t sell it. It’s a taboo in Ilati village” He revealed.

“Jesus! The members screamed. Adeola and her mum raised their voices crying, Wole and some members try to calm them down.
“The next village closer to us is about two hours journey from here and you know what that means. This lady will be dead before they even arrive with the banana” Head Chief Priest stated.
Everyone wailed again.
“God, I can’t think straight. What should I do” Pastor David cried out loud.
And God spoke. “There’s a banana in her handbag”
“Banana in her handbag!” He exclaimed. “Where is her handbag, she has banana with her” He asked hurriedly.
“That’s not possible, she can’t get banana in this village except she brought it to this village” Chief Priest said.
“She can’t bring banana, she doesn’t eat it” Adeola said.
“God said there’s banana in her bag. Where is her handbag for God’s sake?” Pastor David demanded.
“One of the villagers who brought her handed her bag to the Pastor. He passed the handbag to Wole, who was standing next to him. “Please search the bag” he was already searching before Pastor David finished his statement.
He opened the handbag and saw the banana. He brought it out and everyone exclaimed. He gave it to the Pastor.
“Ademide!!!” He tapped her and she looked at him with her dimmed eyes but couldn’t talk. “Eat in Jesus name” He said and fed her with the Banana.
After eating she became conscious again. Everyone screamed and shout for joy dancing, shouting and praising God including the chief priest and the villagers.
Pastor David carried her into the medical team's tent and they attended to her immediately suspending every other activities. They checked her pulse, heart beat. They confirmed she was fine, she looked pale and dehydrated. Her mum suggested they place her on IV fluids but Ademide stood up and told them she was fine. Her mum and sister hugged her. She told them she wants to go out to get fresh air so they all followed her and gave her a plastic chair to sit on.
“What happened out there. Where are you coming from? Someone did this to you with the intention of killing you, because in this village there is no cure for such poison because we don’t plant or eat banana here” Chief priest enquired from her.
The villagers all assembled around her including her own people. Wole and Pastor David too still trying to calm down from the shock as they almost lost her.
“I went for evangelism”
“Alone?” Pastor David asked.
“The brother who went with me was tired and returned to the Lodge”
“Who is that brother that left you all alone there without returning with you” The brother silently raise up his hand.
“I’m sorry Pastor”
“Its not his fault, he told me to come with him but I didn’t agree, I wanted to invite more people for the crusade” She defended the brother.
“Ademide what did you remember. Who did this to you?” Pastor David asked.
“I met so many people. But there’s an elderly woman I met who gave me oranges after promising she will come for the crusade and give her life to Christ.
Then Ademide paused trying to recollect something. “Did you remember something?” Pastor David asked.
“Yes, I remember she said we will soon know who that your God is and I thought she was talking about the crusade”
“Ademide you shouldn’t have drank the oranges” Wole said.
“At first I wanted to keep them in my bag but she said if I truly want to safe her soul that I should drink it. So I drank it”
“What about the Banana, your sister said you didn’t bring banana with you and banana is also a taboo in this village” Pastor David asked.
“On my way back to the lodge, I met an Old man. I greeted him and he said he was impressed with the way a city girl greeted him respectfully. Then he gave me the banana. I was also surprised that how will he give me just one. I collected it and kept it in my bag since I don’t like banana, I had the mind of throwing it away when I get back” She narrated and everyone shouted praise God.
“I still don’t understand where that banana came from. Who is that old man with banana in Ilati village?”Chief Priest asked no idea in particular.
“She saw Jesus” Pastor David said.
“Your God?” Chief priest asked in awe.
“Yes, It was Jesus I saw” She bursted into tears. “I saw Jesus. Yes I remembered I heard the word 'Peace' and by the time I looked back I didn’t see him again” Her sister who was sitting next to her hugged her.
“Wow! So Jesus saved you” Jane who had been a Christian for long too couldn’t believe what she heard.
“Can you describe the elderly woman who gave you the oranges” The chief priest asked although he knew who it was.
Ademide gave a brief description. And the villagers scream, they now know who poisoned her.
“I knew it, she is the most powerful witch not only in this village and our neighbouring villages too. She had killed her husband and all her eight children in exchange for powers. She is the only threat we have in this village. She had turned so many women into widows and killed so many children and destroyed so many lives” Chief Priest addressed.
“No wonder the house was in a secluded area, I didn’t meet a single soul on my way to that place” Ademide attested.
“You are right because everyone has left that area because of her. They ran for their lives” Chief priest said.
All the villagers started shouting the name Jesus. The villagers said the God that delivers Ademide from the hand of their tormentor is the God they will serve in their village. Chief priest agreed with them. “Our Oba must hear this” Chief priest said and all the village shouted “Yes” They all matched to the Oba’s house.
They got to the Oba's house and told him everything that happened. The Oba summoned Ademide. Her mum protested that she still needs rest but Pastor David assured her that he will go with her. Others too followed her to the palace. The Oba made her explained everything that happened, he insisted he wants to hear from the horse’s mouth.
After hearing her story. The king apologized and told them to keep away from the woman because he has no power to do anything to the woman or else he will loose his life, the witch had once threatened him too.
****
Will Pastor David let it go? Find out in the next update.
