Hello, In my application I stated that I will be going to Johannesburg, but I have decided to change my destination to Cape Town because I am traveling with my child and I am made to believe cape town is safer than Jo’burg. My question is, hope this won’t be a problem at the POE or should I spend 2 days in Jo’burg and then proceed to Cape Town? I will be spending a total of 7days on this trip. |

Nobody cares about your airline. However, as your sister has said, SAA is one of the fastest means to get into SA from lagos. In less than 8 hours you are already In SA. No unnecessary layover as supposed to Kenya, Ethiopian and other airlines. And yes it's a little expensive but affordable. blackone1989: |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mimicle101: 2:42pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
DoubleGiant: Pretoria is good. But there are also some areas I personally would recommend u avoid. Places like sunny side (too many 9jas) and also very rough. But there are equally nice places you can stay in Pretoria which are very calm and good though maybe very expensive. But what are really ur expectations if I may ask. Maybe with that in mind we may be able to recommend to u 1 or 2 places u good stay. The other problem about Sa is that you just have to be very smart on ur movements. Walking late alone at night is a capital no irrespective the area you stay. I dont know much places in joburg cos I never lived in joburg only the surroundings towns like 50 kilos away. So that's why am not able to recommend to you. But if you know any trusted person who can show you around then u should be good. Meanwhile there is a group on Facebook about Nigerians in south africa and friends there about. If u know them there are some I assume maybe nice guys who u may connect ur self with who could assist and some of them stay in joburg |

For study visa: there is no set rule that compels you to book a return ticket. You will not be sent back at the point of entry if you booked a one way ticket. The choice is yours to decide which one to go for. blackone1989: |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Diamond1960: 2:55pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
I will advise you to kindly look for a business you can use the 500k for in Nigeria. Even if you are going to go to RSA with a tourist visa you need more than 500k in your account. Savagereplaya: |

Savagereplaya: Don't let anyone deceive you. Life in South Africa as an illegal immigrant is extremely hard. That your 500k will barely sustain you for 3 months. As someone rightly stated, use that money for business. A word is enough for the wise. 1 Like |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by morpheus24: 4:26pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
cucumbar: Cape town is a more tourist like city so you will find more foreign visitors who are mostly from Europe, however depending on where you stay there is a majority of black people that reside there so don't be deceived. The tourist areas will have more white people, Cape town CBD will have more "black" and colored peoples around the area. 3 Likes |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by morpheus24: 4:34pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
Savagereplaya: Come are you serious, 500,000 naira abi 500,00 rand, which one? The odds for you is that you will end up homeless after a period of time and will begin to hustle odd jobs and roam the streets with that kind of money. Have you thought this thing out or are you just one of those who likes to chok head and see wetin happen. Of course in your mind you will say I am merely trying to dissuade you from your venture but truth be told the probability is you cannot reach any where with that amount of money and will end up like most people like yourself that go to SA without planning out very well. I wish you luck if you take the leap but mathematically speaking if I were a betting man the odds are seriously against you succeeding. 2 Likes |

morpheus24: You are very correct considering the way south Africa is now. Life is very tough here. Cheapest 1 room rent alone is maybe around #20 000 per month. Now when u add feeding per month u may end up spending #60 000 per month that is as a start with a minimum low key life. And does he have any skill again? My guy really needs to think it through so he doesn't end up in the street like most 1 Like |

500,000k Naira can sustain you for 3 month but not more than and also depend where you stay. My Advice if you not coming as a skill person or to study in RSA or as a tourist. Please dont waste your money and time. Geenosko: |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Ugosample(m): 6:38pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
Diamond1960: judging by the current business And economic climate in NiggerArea I beg to disagree Venturing into a business with that amount may make the money evaporate b4 you know it. I'd say he holds on to the money and see whether he can raise more, then invest into learning a skill that would help him, or travel to another African country with more capital to start up some thing |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mimicle101: 6:42pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
DoubleGiant: Then not to worry u should be in Pretoria but if I were u I would try avoiding sunny side though but there are good places u can stay in Pretoria. Like I said u should always be smart at all time. No late night walking alone. And if for anything at all please consider ur safty first |
